102 : 5

قَدۡ سَأَلَهَا قَوۡمٞ مِّن قَبۡلِكُمۡ ثُمَّ أَصۡبَحُواْ بِهَا كَٰفِرِينَ

102. A people before you asked such [questions]; then they became thereby disbelievers ^[76].

[76]. That is, the excessive or obstinate questioning of previous peoples—particularly some among the Children of Israel—led them to reject the commands of their prophets. Instead of strengthening their faith, their persistent demands and unnecessary inquiries weakened their submission to Allāh, ultimately causing some of them to fall into disbelief by their rejection to carry out what they were commanded.This serves as a warning to later believers against repeating the same mistake.
