يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِذَا قِيلَ لَكُمۡ تَفَسَّحُواْ فِي ٱلۡمَجَٰلِسِ فَٱفۡسَحُواْ يَفۡسَحِ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمۡۖ وَإِذَا قِيلَ ٱنشُزُواْ فَٱنشُزُواْ يَرۡفَعِ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مِنكُمۡ وَٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡعِلۡمَ دَرَجَٰتٖۚ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ خَبِيرٞ
11. O believers, when it is said to you: "Make room in (your) assemblies," then make ample room. Allāh will give you ample room (from His mercy) [10]. And when it is said: "Rise up (for a good deed)," then rise up. Allāh will exalt by high degrees those of you who believe, and (above) all those who are given (right) knowledge (with sound faith and good deeds). And Allah of what you do is All-Aware.
[10]. This verse is revealed regarding making a room to sit during the assembly so that those arriving to join the gathering may find place to sit, so Allāh will make room 'place' for you of His grace. But it has a more general meaning than this. It is that whoever gives abundantly to one who is suffering hardship, Allāh will give him abundantly of His grace. Whoever comforts a broken heart, Allāh will comfort his heart. Whoever relieves a pain from a believer, Allāh will relieve his pain. And whoever wipes away a tear, Allāh will wipe away his tear. No one is more generous or loyal than Almighty Allāh. Doing good to others protects one from evil calamities.
