[6]. To carry out their plan to keep the poor away, confident of their ability, thinking that they have powers to prevent the poor from taking any of the fruits.
[8]. I.e., those to whom they attribute divinity other than Allāh, or partners to Him from among themselves.
[9]. In accordance with authentic ḥadīths: "The Shin" here refers to that of Allāh, before which every believer will prostrate on the Day of Judgement. Another meaning of the verse: When legs are bared and everyone will find before him great difficulty.
