وَٱتَّخَذَ قَوۡمُ مُوسَىٰ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِۦ مِنۡ حُلِيِّهِمۡ عِجۡلٗا جَسَدٗا لَّهُۥ خُوَارٌۚ أَلَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ أَنَّهُۥ لَا يُكَلِّمُهُمۡ وَلَا يَهۡدِيهِمۡ سَبِيلًاۘ ٱتَّخَذُوهُ وَكَانُواْ ظَٰلِمِينَ

148. The people of Moses, after him [his departure], made from their ornaments a calf — a [lifeless] body that produced a lowing sound [31]. Did they not see that it could neither speak to them nor guide them to any way? Yet they took it [for worship], and they were wrongdoers. info

[31]. This lifeless body even lacked the basic attributes of being a god, as it was unable to speak to them or benefit them.
