قُل لَّوۡ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مَا تَلَوۡتُهُۥ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَلَآ أَدۡرَىٰكُم بِهِۦۖ فَقَدۡ لَبِثۡتُ فِيكُمۡ عُمُرٗا مِّن قَبۡلِهِۦٓۚ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ
16. Say, “Had Allāh so willed, I would not have recited it to you, nor would He have made it known to you. I have lived a lifetime among you before this [7]. Will you not then use your reason?”
[7]. I.e., forty years before receiving any revelation.
