17 : 13

أَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءٗ فَسَالَتۡ أَوۡدِيَةُۢ بِقَدَرِهَا فَٱحۡتَمَلَ ٱلسَّيۡلُ زَبَدٗا رَّابِيٗاۖ وَمِمَّا يُوقِدُونَ عَلَيۡهِ فِي ٱلنَّارِ ٱبۡتِغَآءَ حِلۡيَةٍ أَوۡ مَتَٰعٖ زَبَدٞ مِّثۡلُهُۥۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يَضۡرِبُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡحَقَّ وَٱلۡبَٰطِلَۚ فَأَمَّا ٱلزَّبَدُ فَيَذۡهَبُ جُفَآءٗۖ وَأَمَّا مَا يَنفَعُ ٱلنَّاسَ فَيَمۡكُثُ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يَضۡرِبُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡأَمۡثَالَ

17. He sends down water from the sky, and the valleys flow according to their measure.The torrent then carries upon its surface swelling foam; and likewise, from that which they melt in the fire to make ornaments or utensils, arises a foam similar to it. Thus Allāh sets forth [the example of] the Truth and falsehood: as for the foam, it passes away as scum; but that which benefits people remains in the earth. Thus does Allāh present examples for those who reflect ^[8].

[8]. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, "The example of the guidance and knowledge with which Allāh has sent me is like abundant rain falling on the earth, some of which was fertile soil that absorbed rain water and brought forth vegetation and grass in abundance. (And) another portion of it was hard and held the rain water and Allāh benefited the people with it and they utilized it for drinking, making their animals drink from it and for irrigation of the land for cultivation. (And) a portion of it was barren which could neither hold the water nor bring forth vegetation (then that land gave no benefits). The first is the example of the person who comprehends Allah's religion, Islam, and gets benefit (from the knowledge) which Allāh has revealed through me (and learns and then teaches others). The last example is that of a person who does not care for it and does not take God's guidance revealed through me (He is like that barren land.)".
