أَفَأَصۡفَىٰكُمۡ رَبُّكُم بِٱلۡبَنِينَ وَٱتَّخَذَ مِنَ ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ إِنَٰثًاۚ إِنَّكُمۡ لَتَقُولُونَ قَوۡلًا عَظِيمٗا
40. (Pagans), has your Lord (Allāh) distinguished you out to have sons and taken from among the angels females (daughters) [22]? Indeed, you are surely saying a grave saying.
[22]. Considering their preferring male over female children, their claim that Allāh Almighty took daughters, while they themselves are given sons is refuted. How they attribute to Allāh, the Omnipotent Creator, what they do not accept for themselves, claiming that the angels are God's daughters.
