كَذَّبَتۡ قَبۡلَهُمۡ قَوۡمُ نُوحٖ وَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلرَّسِّ وَثَمُودُ

The people of Noah rejected [the truth] before them^[4], as well as the companions of the Well^[5] and Thamūd,

[4] i.e., before the pagans of Makkah.
[5] i.e., people of prophet Shu‘ayb or other people. See footnote 25:38.
