Al-Qadr

Umurongo: 1

إِنَّآ أَنزَلۡنَٰهُ فِي لَيۡلَةِ ٱلۡقَدۡرِ

Indeed, We sent this [Qur’an] down on the Night of Decree^[1].

[1] The Qur’an was first revealed completely to the lowest heaven on this night. Also, its revelation on the Prophet (ﷺ) started on this night.

Umurongo: 2

وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا لَيۡلَةُ ٱلۡقَدۡرِ

How do you know what the Night of Decree is?

Umurongo: 3

لَيۡلَةُ ٱلۡقَدۡرِ خَيۡرٞ مِّنۡ أَلۡفِ شَهۡرٖ

The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.

Umurongo: 4

تَنَزَّلُ ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَٱلرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذۡنِ رَبِّهِم مِّن كُلِّ أَمۡرٖ

On that night the angels and the Spirit [i.e., Gabriel] descend by their Lord’s permission with all decrees^[2].

[2] Bringing down the exact provisions, life, death, and other things destined for the creatures for the coming year by Allah's permission.

Umurongo: 5

سَلَٰمٌ هِيَ حَتَّىٰ مَطۡلَعِ ٱلۡفَجۡرِ

It is all peace^[3] until the break of dawn.

[3] Upon the believers.
