Al-Humazah

Umurongo: 1

وَيۡلٞ لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَةٖ لُّمَزَةٍ

1. Woe to every backbiter, slanderer,

Umurongo: 2

ٱلَّذِي جَمَعَ مَالٗا وَعَدَّدَهُۥ

2. Who ammased wealth (greedly) and (continuously) counted it¹,

1. Withholding the gifts Allāh has given him of His Grace, instead of giving charity part of it.

Umurongo: 3

يَحۡسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُۥٓ أَخۡلَدَهُۥ

3. Thinking that his wealth will make him immortal.

Umurongo: 4

كَلَّاۖ لَيُنۢبَذَنَّ فِي ٱلۡحُطَمَةِ

4. By no means! He will certainly be thrown into the crushing Fire,

Umurongo: 5

وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلۡحُطَمَةُ

5. And what will make you realize what the crushing Fire is?

Umurongo: 6

نَارُ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُوقَدَةُ

6. It is the Fire of God, (eternally) kindled,

Umurongo: 7

ٱلَّتِي تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى ٱلۡأَفۡـِٔدَةِ

7. Which mounts up to the hearts2.

2. And burns within, as it burns outside.

Umurongo: 8

إِنَّهَا عَلَيۡهِم مُّؤۡصَدَةٞ

8. It will be closed over upon them,

Umurongo: 9

فِي عَمَدٖ مُّمَدَّدَةِۭ
