35
هُوَ ٱلَّذِي جَعَلَكُمۡ خَلَٰٓئِفَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ فَمَن كَفَرَ فَعَلَيۡهِ كُفۡرُهُۥۖ وَلَا يَزِيدُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ كُفۡرُهُمۡ عِندَ رَبِّهِمۡ إِلَّا مَقۡتٗاۖ وَلَا يَزِيدُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ كُفۡرُهُمۡ إِلَّا خَسَارٗا
39. It is He (Allāh) Who made you successors in the earth. So whoever disbelieves (in the Truth), then upon him is his disbelief. And the disbelief of the disbelievers does not increase them in the sight of their Lord except in detestation, and their disbelief increases the disbelievers (in nothing) except in loss.

قُلۡ أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ شُرَكَآءَكُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ تَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَرُونِي مَاذَا خَلَقُواْ مِنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَمۡ لَهُمۡ شِرۡكٞ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ أَمۡ ءَاتَيۡنَٰهُمۡ كِتَٰبٗا فَهُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَتٖ مِّنۡهُۚ بَلۡ إِن يَعِدُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ بَعۡضُهُم بَعۡضًا إِلَّا غُرُورًا
40. Say: "Have you considered your associate-gods which you invoke besides Allāh? Show me what they created of the earth, or have they any share in the heavens? Or have We given them a Book so they are on a clear proof therefrom? Rather, the unjust (the pagans) do not promise one another except delusion.

35
۞ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُمۡسِكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ أَن تَزُولَاۚ وَلَئِن زَالَتَآ إِنۡ أَمۡسَكَهُمَا مِنۡ أَحَدٖ مِّنۢ بَعۡدِهِۦٓۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ حَلِيمًا غَفُورٗا
41. Indeed, Allāh (alone) keeps the heavens and the earth from vanishing. And if they should vanish, there is no one from after Him could hold them (in place). Surely He is ever Most Forbearing, Most Forgiving.

35
وَأَقۡسَمُواْ بِٱللَّهِ جَهۡدَ أَيۡمَٰنِهِمۡ لَئِن جَآءَهُمۡ نَذِيرٞ لَّيَكُونُنَّ أَهۡدَىٰ مِنۡ إِحۡدَى ٱلۡأُمَمِۖ فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمۡ نَذِيرٞ مَّا زَادَهُمۡ إِلَّا نُفُورًا
42. And they swore by Allāh their most binding oaths, that if there came to them a warner they would be better guided than any one of the (previous) nations. But when a warner (the Prophet Muhammad) came to them, it did not increase them except in aversion,

ٱسۡتِكۡبَارٗا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَكۡرَ ٱلسَّيِّيِٕۚ وَلَا يَحِيقُ ٱلۡمَكۡرُ ٱلسَّيِّئُ إِلَّا بِأَهۡلِهِۦۚ فَهَلۡ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا سُنَّتَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَۚ فَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّتِ ٱللَّهِ تَبۡدِيلٗاۖ وَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّتِ ٱللَّهِ تَحۡوِيلًا
43. '(Due to) arrogance in the land and plotting evil; but the evil plot does not encompass any except its own people. Then do they wait for anything except the way of the former (destroyed people)? For you shall not find any change in Allah's way of dealing; and you shall not find any alteration in Allah's way [16].
[16]. Throughout history, flawed human beings have embraced ever-changing versions of truth or personal preferred realities to suit their desires. However, the Qur’an points to one truth, the one true God, Allāh, and one way to salvation—the Qur’an and Prophet Muhammad's way 'Sunnah'. The prophet Muhammad ﷺ affirmed that people, like all created things, are temporal, fallible. The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of Allāh 'the Qur’an' and the way 'Sunnah' of His messenger, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, endures forever.

35
أَوَلَمۡ يَسِيرُواْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَيَنظُرُواْ كَيۡفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ وَكَانُوٓاْ أَشَدَّ مِنۡهُمۡ قُوَّةٗۚ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيُعۡجِزَهُۥ مِن شَيۡءٖ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَلَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَلِيمٗا قَدِيرٗا
44. Have they not traveled throughout the land to see what was the end of those (destroyed) before them? And they were stronger than them in power? But Allāh is not to be caused failure by anything in the heavens or on the earth. Surely He is ever All-Knowing, Most Powerful.
