[35]. Muhammad, the Messenger of God ﷺ said, “Cleanliness is half of faith”.
Doing ablution and showering regularly. Keeping nails a suitable length and cleaning under them. Thoroughly brushing your teeth regularly. Washing your hands before and after mealtimes and after going to the bathroom are all exhorted in Islam. We must also give much care to the cleanness of our hearts and purifying ourselves from the sins. Cleanliness is important, for it builds up a healthy environment that facilitates physical and mental well-being and growth. Therefore, its individual, as well as collective importance cannot be denied. Cleaning the environment is the key to the existence and survival of life on planet earth. Maintaining a clean environment reduces pollution, preserves our biosphere, protects endangered species, and helps preserve the earth’s natural resources. In society, the state of cleanliness represents the mindset of its inhabitants. It is more pleasant to spend time in a clean and tidy home than one that is cluttered and messy. Not only is it pleasing to have a well-organised space, but it can also be beneficial to your mental and physical health.
