Les historiens pensent que, d’origine obscure, elles étaient des monuments religieux en l’honneur du soleil. Par extension, le Coran interdit toute pierre qui s’y apparente et ferait penser à ce genre de culte païen. [165] Divination par les entrailles des victimes. On écrit aussi « haruspice ». À l’origine, l’haruspice était un prêtre romain ou étrusque qui fouillait dans les entrailles des morts ou des animaux sacrifiés avec un bâton pour prédire l’avenir.
