Translation of the Meanings of the Noble Qur'an - English Translation - Abdullah Hasan Yaqoub * - Translations’ Index

Translation of the meanings Ayah: (19) Surah: Āl-‘Imrān
19. Certainly, the (true) religion in the sight of Allāh 'God' is Islam5, and those to whom the Scripture had been given did not differ except after knowledge had come to them, out of envy among themselves. Whoever denies the revelations of Allāh, then surely Allāh is swift in Reckoning.
5. The meaning of the word "Islām" is "submission to the will of God." This is the way of life ordained by God and taught by all of the prophets from Adam to Muḥammad (ﷺ). It conveys two meanings: yielding and surrender, and devoting one’s surrender to Allāh (God) alone. A Muslim is one who submits and surrenders himself to God.
