Translation of the meanings Ayah: (101) Surah: An-Nisā’
وَإِذَا ضَرَبۡتُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَلَيۡسَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ جُنَاحٌ أَن تَقۡصُرُواْ مِنَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ إِنۡ خِفۡتُمۡ أَن يَفۡتِنَكُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْۚ إِنَّ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ كَانُواْ لَكُمۡ عَدُوّٗا مُّبِينٗا
101. When you are travelling through the land, there is no blame on you to shorten the prayer45, if you fear that those who disbelieve 'in the Truth' may attack you. Indeed, The disbelievers are an open enemy to you.
45. The four rakʿah prayers are shortened to two rakʿahs. The tradition of the Prophet and his companions illustrates that fear is not a condition for this allowance, merely travel.
