وَإِذَا ضَرَبۡتُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَلَيۡسَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ جُنَاحٌ أَن تَقۡصُرُواْ مِنَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ إِنۡ خِفۡتُمۡ أَن يَفۡتِنَكُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْۚ إِنَّ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ كَانُواْ لَكُمۡ عَدُوّٗا مُّبِينٗا
101. When you are travel through the land, there is no blame on you for shortening the prayer [45], if you fear that those who disbelieve may attack you. Indeed, The disbelievers are a clear enemy to you.
[45]. During travel, the four-rakʿah prayers are shortened to two rakʿahs. The practice of the Prophet ﷺ and his companions shows that this allowance is based solely on travel, not on fear.
