Ayah: 1

ٱلۡحَآقَّةُ
1. L’Heure de Vérité !

مَا ٱلۡحَآقَّةُ
2. Qu’est-ce que l’Heure de Vérité ?

وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلۡحَآقَّةُ
3. Et qui te fera jamais savoir ce qu’est l’Heure de Vérité ?

Ayah: 4

كَذَّبَتۡ ثَمُودُ وَعَادُۢ بِٱلۡقَارِعَةِ
4. Les Thamûd et les ‘Ad avaient traité de mensonge (l’ultime) Fracas.[573]
[573] Le cataclysme de la fin du monde.

Ayah: 5

فَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَأُهۡلِكُواْ بِٱلطَّاغِيَةِ
5. Quant aux Thamûd, ils furent anéantis par le Cri terrifiant.

وَأَمَّا عَادٞ فَأُهۡلِكُواْ بِرِيحٖ صَرۡصَرٍ عَاتِيَةٖ
6. Les ‘Ad, eux, furent emportés par un vent impétueux et glacé,

سَخَّرَهَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ سَبۡعَ لَيَالٖ وَثَمَٰنِيَةَ أَيَّامٍ حُسُومٗاۖ فَتَرَى ٱلۡقَوۡمَ فِيهَا صَرۡعَىٰ كَأَنَّهُمۡ أَعۡجَازُ نَخۡلٍ خَاوِيَةٖ
7. Qu’(Allah) envoya contre eux durant sept nuits et huit jours consécutifs ; on voyait alors les gens étendus inertes, tels des troncs creux de palmiers.

Ayah: 8

فَهَلۡ تَرَىٰ لَهُم مِّنۢ بَاقِيَةٖ
8. En vois-tu encore les moindres traces ?

Ayah: 9

وَجَآءَ فِرۡعَوۡنُ وَمَن قَبۡلَهُۥ وَٱلۡمُؤۡتَفِكَٰتُ بِٱلۡخَاطِئَةِ
9. Pharaon, ceux qui l’avaient précédé, et les cités renversées[574], avaient commis des fautes.
[574] Les villes de Sodome et Gomorrhe.

Ayah: 10

فَعَصَوۡاْ رَسُولَ رَبِّهِمۡ فَأَخَذَهُمۡ أَخۡذَةٗ رَّابِيَةً
10. Ils avaient désobéi au Messager de leur Seigneur Qui les emporta irréversiblement.

إِنَّا لَمَّا طَغَا ٱلۡمَآءُ حَمَلۡنَٰكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡجَارِيَةِ
11. Quand les eaux (du Déluge) eurent tout couvert, Nous vous sauvâmes sur l’Arche qui court (fendant les flots).

Ayah: 12

لِنَجۡعَلَهَا لَكُمۡ تَذۡكِرَةٗ وَتَعِيَهَآ أُذُنٞ وَٰعِيَةٞ
12. afin que cela reste pour vous un exemple gravé dans toutes les mémoires et assimilé par toute oreille consciente.

Ayah: 13

فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِي ٱلصُّورِ نَفۡخَةٞ وَٰحِدَةٞ
13. Lorsqu’il sera soufflé dans le Cor une fois, une seule,

وَحُمِلَتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ وَٱلۡجِبَالُ فَدُكَّتَا دَكَّةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ
14. et que la terre et les montagnes seront soulevées puis broyées d’un coup, un seul,

Ayah: 15

فَيَوۡمَئِذٖ وَقَعَتِ ٱلۡوَاقِعَةُ
15. alors adviendra l’Événement !

Ayah: 16

وَٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَهِيَ يَوۡمَئِذٖ وَاهِيَةٞ
16. Le ciel se fendra et sera, en ce jour, prêt à s’écrouler.

Ayah: 17

وَٱلۡمَلَكُ عَلَىٰٓ أَرۡجَآئِهَاۚ وَيَحۡمِلُ عَرۡشَ رَبِّكَ فَوۡقَهُمۡ يَوۡمَئِذٖ ثَمَٰنِيَةٞ
17. Les Anges seront là, sur ses horizons. Huit d’entre eux, ce jour-là, porteront le Trône de ton Seigneur.

Ayah: 18

يَوۡمَئِذٖ تُعۡرَضُونَ لَا تَخۡفَىٰ مِنكُمۡ خَافِيَةٞ
18. En ce jour, vous comparaîtrez (devant Allah) et rien de vous ne sera tenu caché.

Ayah: 19

فَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ هَآؤُمُ ٱقۡرَءُواْ كِتَٰبِيَهۡ
19. Quant à celui qui aura reçu son Livre dans sa main droite, il s’écriera : « Prenez, lisez mon Livre !

Ayah: 20

إِنِّي ظَنَنتُ أَنِّي مُلَٰقٍ حِسَابِيَهۡ
20. Je savais bien que j’allais rendre compte (de mes œuvres). »

فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةٖ رَّاضِيَةٖ
21. Celui-là vivra dans la félicité,

Ayah: 22

فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٖ
22. dans un jardin surplombant,

Ayah: 23

قُطُوفُهَا دَانِيَةٞ
23. dont les fruits seront tout proches.

Ayah: 24

كُلُواْ وَٱشۡرَبُواْ هَنِيٓـَٔۢا بِمَآ أَسۡلَفۡتُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَيَّامِ ٱلۡخَالِيَةِ
24. « Mangez et buvez à votre aise pour les œuvres que vous avez autrefois accomplies. »

Ayah: 25

وَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِشِمَالِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ يَٰلَيۡتَنِي لَمۡ أُوتَ كِتَٰبِيَهۡ
25. Quant à celui qui aura reçu son Livre dans sa main gauche, il dira : « Ah, si seulement je n’avais point reçu mon Livre,

Ayah: 26

وَلَمۡ أَدۡرِ مَا حِسَابِيَهۡ
26. ni eu connaissance de mon compte !

Ayah: 27

يَٰلَيۡتَهَا كَانَتِ ٱلۡقَاضِيَةَ
27. Comme j’aurais aimé, hélas, que ma mort fût irréversible !

Ayah: 28

مَآ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنِّي مَالِيَهۡۜ
28. Mes biens ne m’auront servi à rien,

Ayah: 29

هَلَكَ عَنِّي سُلۡطَٰنِيَهۡ
29. et mon autorité, anéantie, m’a laissé seul ! »

Ayah: 30

خُذُوهُ فَغُلُّوهُ
30. (Il sera alors dit de lui) : « Prenez-le ! Enchaînez-le !

Ayah: 31

ثُمَّ ٱلۡجَحِيمَ صَلُّوهُ
31. Puis, dans le Brasier, brûlez-le !

Ayah: 32

ثُمَّ فِي سِلۡسِلَةٖ ذَرۡعُهَا سَبۡعُونَ ذِرَاعٗا فَٱسۡلُكُوهُ
32. Ensuite, avec une chaîne (longue) de soixante-dix coudées, attachez-le !

Ayah: 33

إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ لَا يُؤۡمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
33. Car il ne croyait pas en Allah le Très Grand,

Ayah: 34

وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلۡمِسۡكِينِ
34. pas plus qu’il n’incitait à donner à manger au pauvre.

Ayah: 35

فَلَيۡسَ لَهُ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ هَٰهُنَا حَمِيمٞ
35. Aujourd’hui, ici, il n’a aucun ami chaleureux,

Ayah: 36

وَلَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنۡ غِسۡلِينٖ
36. ni nourriture autre que le pus

Ayah: 37

لَّا يَأۡكُلُهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡخَٰطِـُٔونَ
37. dont seuls se nourriront les coupables. »

Ayah: 38

فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِمَا تُبۡصِرُونَ
38. Non, J’en jure par ce que vous voyez,

Ayah: 39

وَمَا لَا تُبۡصِرُونَ
39. et par ce que vous ne voyez pas,

Ayah: 40

إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوۡلُ رَسُولٖ كَرِيمٖ
40. ceci[575] est le propos (transmis) par un Noble Messager,
[575] Le Coran.

Ayah: 41

وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوۡلِ شَاعِرٖۚ قَلِيلٗا مَّا تُؤۡمِنُونَ
41. et non le propos d’un poète. Comme vous êtes peu nombreux à y croire !

Ayah: 42

وَلَا بِقَوۡلِ كَاهِنٖۚ قَلِيلٗا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ
42. Et ce n’est pas, non plus, le propos d’un devin. Comme vous êtes peu nombreux à y réfléchir !

Ayah: 43

تَنزِيلٞ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
43. C’est bien une révélation du Seigneur de l’Univers.

وَلَوۡ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيۡنَا بَعۡضَ ٱلۡأَقَاوِيلِ
44. Si (Muhammad) Nous avait attribué certaines paroles (qui n’étaient pas les Nôtres),

Ayah: 45

لَأَخَذۡنَا مِنۡهُ بِٱلۡيَمِينِ
45. Nous l’aurions saisi en Notre Main Droite,[576]
[576] Formule divine par laquelle Sa Menace se veut intensifiée.

Ayah: 46

ثُمَّ لَقَطَعۡنَا مِنۡهُ ٱلۡوَتِينَ
46. puis lui aurions tranché l’aorte.

Ayah: 47

فَمَا مِنكُم مِّنۡ أَحَدٍ عَنۡهُ حَٰجِزِينَ
47. Nul d’entre vous alors n’aurait pu le protéger.

Ayah: 48

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَذۡكِرَةٞ لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ
48. Ce (Coran) est, en vérité, un Rappel à l’adresse de ceux qui sont pieux.

Ayah: 49

وَإِنَّا لَنَعۡلَمُ أَنَّ مِنكُم مُّكَذِّبِينَ
49. Nous savons (pourtant) que, parmi vous, certains crient (encore) au mensonge.

Ayah: 50

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَسۡرَةٌ عَلَى ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
50. Ce sera plutôt un sujet d’amers regrets pour les mécréants.

Ayah: 51

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَقُّ ٱلۡيَقِينِ
51. C’est là, assurément, la vraie certitude.

Ayah: 52

فَسَبِّحۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
52. Rends donc gloire au Nom de ton Seigneur, le Très Grand !
