[1] Những chữ cái rời rạc ở phần đầu của chương Kinh này ám chỉ đến bản chất kỳ diệu của Kinh Qur'an. Đó là một thách thức đối với những người Đa Thần giáo, khiến họ bất lực không thể đáp trả lại. Trong khi Qur'an được cấu thành bởi những chữ cái này tạo bằng ngôn ngữ Ả-rập. Vậy mà người Ả-rập lại không thể sáng tác ra bất cứ câu nào giống như Qur'an - mặc dù họ là những người có tài hùng biện nhất - cho thấy rằng Kinh Qur'an là được mặc khải từ Allah.
