Ar-Rūm

1. Alif Laam Meem¹.
1. The Qur’an is made up of such letters from the Arabic alphabet. The Arabs at the time of revelation were the unrivalled masters of the Arabic language and yet when challenged were totally unable to bring anything like the Qur’an. Despite this fact, the inimitable nature of the Qur’an and its divine source, God knows best the meaning of these disjointed Arabic letters.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
2. The Byzantines (Romans) have been defeated.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
3. In the nearer (and lowest) land², and they (the Romans)³ after this defeat, they shall defeat (the Persians)⁴,

6. (This is) Allah’s Promise. Allah fails not in His Promise, but most people do not know.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
7. They (the deniers) only know what is apparent of this worldly life⁶, but they are heedless of the Hereafter life.
6. The superficial realities of the world is about the social conditions created by such deniers as live carnal, sensuous, lustful lives. They know the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. The superficial realities of the world it does not mean the sphere on which we live, but an environment created by such individuals who live contrary to God's teachings. We would not want to be free of our responsibility of being in the world by being taken out of the world, for this life is a probationary state. The world is our opportunity to prove ourselves. This is a part of the great Plan of Allah, to be confronted with the things of the world that we might overcome them and be strengthened. We build security and strength in our lives by living the Qur’an and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad. There is no cure for the ills of the world except the Qur’an that was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad. Our hope for peace, spiritual prosperity, and for an eventual inheritance in the kingdom of God is found only in and through the Qur’an and the Sunnah. Everything in the world is not evil. There are many things of virtue, many great men and women working for the finer things of life, who have high standards and live righteously. But there is a great challenge in living in the world. The concern is not where we live - but how we live. Only obedience to the laws of Allah and the tradition of His messenger, the Prophet Muhammad, will bring real happiness and peace. This life is beautiful when is guided by the Qur'an and Sunnah, the closer we are to these two sources, the easier the life is.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
8. Do they not reflect within themselves? Allah did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them except for a genuine purpose, and (for) an appointed term. But most people are deniers of the Meeting of their Lord (Allah).
Las Exégesis Árabes:
9. Have they not traveled through the land to see how was the end of those before them? They were stronger than them in power, and cultivated the earth and developed it more than they developed. Their messengers came to them with clear Proofs. Allah was not unjust to them, but they were unjust to their own selves⁷.
7. By transgressing the rights of their Creator.
Las Exégesis Árabes:

13. They will not have any intercessors from the idols they have associated with Allah (in worship), and they will deny their idols.

15. As to those who believed and did righteous deeds, they will happily be in a Garden of Delight.
Las Exégesis Árabes:

50. Look then at the effects of Allah’s mercy, how He revives the earth after its death. He will certainly raise the dead to life. He is able to do all things.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
51. But if We (Allah) send a wind and they see (their crops) turn yellow, they would become thereafter ungrateful.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
52. You cannot make the dead hear, nor can you make the deaf hear the call when they turn their backs and go away.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
53. Nor can you guide the blind out of their error. You cannot make anyone to hear except those who believe in Our verses, and thus submit themselves to Allah (God).
Las Exégesis Árabes:
54. It is Allah Who created you from a state of weakness, then given you strength after weakness, and caused you to become weak and old after being strong. He creates what He wills. He is the All-Knowing, the Most Powerful.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
55. On the Day when the Hour (of Doom) comes, the wicked will swear (that) they did not remain (in their graves) but an hour. Thus are they ever turned away (from the Truth).
Las Exégesis Árabes:
56. Those who are given (right) knowledge and faith will say: "You have certainly remained according to the Decree of Allah, until the Day of Resurrection. This is the Day of Resurrection, but you did not know."
Las Exégesis Árabes:
57. So on that Day their excuse will not benefit those who did iniquity¹⁶, nor will they be allowed to appease (Allah).
16. By associating partners in worship with Allah, and by denying the Day of Resurrection and Judgment.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
58. We have certainly set forth for the people every kind of example in the Qur’an. but if you (Muhammad) bring them any Sign, those who deny would certainly say: "You are but making false claims."
Las Exégesis Árabes:
59. Thus does Allah set a seal on the hearts of those who do not know¹⁷.
17. I.e., those who do not seek the truth of Islam; rather, they reject it.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
60. So be patient. For the Promise of Allah is always true. Let not those who have no certainty (in the Hereafter) hold you in light estimation¹⁸.
18. So as to make you impatient and depart from what you are upon of right Religion.
