Ar-Rūm

1 : 30

الٓمٓ

1. Alif Laam Meem ^[1].

2 : 30

غُلِبَتِ ٱلرُّومُ

2. The Romans 'Byzantines' were defeated.

3 : 30

فِيٓ أَدۡنَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَهُم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ غَلَبِهِمۡ سَيَغۡلِبُونَ

3. In the nearer (and lowest) land ^[2], and they ^[3] after their defeat, they will overcome ^[4],

[2]. Palestine, Jordan and Syria.
[3]. the Romans, who were followers of the past Scriptures.
[4]. The Persians, who were Zoroastrians at that time.

4 : 30

فِي بِضۡعِ سِنِينَۗ لِلَّهِ ٱلۡأَمۡرُ مِن قَبۡلُ وَمِنۢ بَعۡدُۚ وَيَوۡمَئِذٖ يَفۡرَحُ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ

4. Within a few years. To Allāh belongs the Command before and after ^[5]. And on that day the believers will rejoice,

[5]. I.e., the defeat of the Romans by Persians in 615 CE and the defeat of Persians by Romans in 625 CE.

5 : 30

بِنَصۡرِ ٱللَّهِۚ يَنصُرُ مَن يَشَآءُۖ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

5. In the victory of Allāh. He gives victory to whom He wills. For He is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful.

6 : 30

وَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِۖ لَا يُخۡلِفُ ٱللَّهُ وَعۡدَهُۥ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ

6. (This is) Allah’s Promise. Allāh never fails in His Promise, but most people do not know.

7 : 30

يَعۡلَمُونَ ظَٰهِرٗا مِّنَ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَهُمۡ عَنِ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ هُمۡ غَٰفِلُونَ

7. They know what is apparent of this worldly life ^[6], but they are heedless of the Hereafter life.

[6]. The superficial aspects of the world is about the social conditions created by such deniers as live carnal, sensuous, lustful lives. They know the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. The superficial aspects of the world it does not mean the sphere on which we live, but an environment created by such individuals who live contrary to God's teachings. We would not want to be free of our responsibility of being in the world by being taken out of the world, for this life is a probationary state. The world is our opportunity to prove ourselves. This is a part of the great Plan of Allāh, to be confronted with the things of the world that we might overcome them and be strengthened. We build security and strength in our lives by living the Qur’an and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad. There is no cure for the ills of the world except the Qur’an that was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad. Our hope for peace, spiritual prosperity, and for an eventual inheritance in the kingdom of God is found only in and through the Qur’an and the Sunnah. Everything in the world is not evil. There are many things of virtue, many great men and women working for the finer things of life, who have high standards and live righteously. But there is a great challenge in living in the world. The concern is not where we live - but how we live. Only obedience to the laws of Allāh and the tradition of His messenger, the Prophet Muhammad, will bring real happiness and peace. This life is beautiful when is guided by the Qur'an and Sunnah, the closer we are to these two sources, the easier the life is.

8 : 30

أَوَلَمۡ يَتَفَكَّرُواْ فِيٓ أَنفُسِهِمۗ مَّا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَأَجَلٖ مُّسَمّٗىۗ وَإِنَّ كَثِيرٗا مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِ بِلِقَآيِٕ رَبِّهِمۡ لَكَٰفِرُونَ

8. Do they not reflect within themselves? Allāh did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them except (for genuine purpose, and) in truth and an appointed term. And indeed many people are deniers of the Meeting of their Lord (Allāh).

9 : 30

أَوَلَمۡ يَسِيرُواْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَيَنظُرُواْ كَيۡفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡۚ كَانُوٓاْ أَشَدَّ مِنۡهُمۡ قُوَّةٗ وَأَثَارُواْ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَعَمَرُوهَآ أَكۡثَرَ مِمَّا عَمَرُوهَا وَجَآءَتۡهُمۡ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِۖ فَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِيَظۡلِمَهُمۡ وَلَٰكِن كَانُوٓاْ أَنفُسَهُمۡ يَظۡلِمُونَ

9. Have they not traveled throughout the land to see how was the end of those (destroyed) before them? They were stronger than them in power, cultivated the earth, and developed it more than they developed it. Their messengers came to them with clear Proofs. And Allāh was not to be unjust to them, but they were unjust to their own selves ^[7].

[7]. By transgressing the rights of their Creator.

10 : 30

ثُمَّ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَسَٰٓـُٔواْ ٱلسُّوٓأَىٰٓ أَن كَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَكَانُواْ بِهَا يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ

10. Then the end of those who did evil was evil, that they rejected the Revelations of Allāh, and used to mock them.

11 : 30

ٱللَّهُ يَبۡدَؤُاْ ٱلۡخَلۡقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُۥ ثُمَّ إِلَيۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ

11. Allāh originates the creation, then He will repeat (resurrect) it; and then to Him you shall 'all' be returned (for Judgment).

12 : 30

وَيَوۡمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ يُبۡلِسُ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ

12. And on the Day when the Hour (of Doom) comes up, the guilty will despair.

13 : 30

وَلَمۡ يَكُن لَّهُم مِّن شُرَكَآئِهِمۡ شُفَعَٰٓؤُاْ وَكَانُواْ بِشُرَكَآئِهِمۡ كَٰفِرِينَ

13.  And they will not have from their associate-gods any intercessors, and they will be disbelievers in their associate-gods.

14 : 30

وَيَوۡمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ يَوۡمَئِذٖ يَتَفَرَّقُونَ

14. On the Day when the Hour (of Doom) comes up, that Day they will be separated ^[8].

[8]. Believers will be separated from the disbelievers.

15 : 30

فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ فَهُمۡ فِي رَوۡضَةٖ يُحۡبَرُونَ

15. As for those who believed and did righteous deeds, they will be in a Garden (of Paradise), rejoicing.

16 : 30

وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَكَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَلِقَآيِٕ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ فِي ٱلۡعَذَابِ مُحۡضَرُونَ

16. But as for those who disbelieved and denied in Our revelations and the meeting of the Hereafter, these will be brought forth in the torment.

17 : 30

فَسُبۡحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ حِينَ تُمۡسُونَ وَحِينَ تُصۡبِحُونَ

17.   So glory be to Allāh when you reach the evening ^[9] and when you reach the morning ^[10].

[9]. I.e. offer the Maghrib (sunset) and evening (‘Ishâ’) prayers.
[10]. I.e., offer the early morning prayer.

18 : 30

وَلَهُ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَعَشِيّٗا وَحِينَ تُظۡهِرُونَ

18. And for Him (Allāh) is the praise in the heavens and the earth, as well as in the afternoon ^[11] and when you are at noon ^[12].

[11]. I.e., offer ‘Asr prayer.
[12]. I.e., offer Zuhr prayer.
In a statement of the prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him, he said: "If there was a river at the door of anyone of you and he took a bath in it five times a day would you notice any dirt on him?" They said, "Not a trace of dirt would be left." The Prophet said: "That is the example of the five obligatory prayers with which Allāh blots out (annuls) evil deeds."

19 : 30

يُخۡرِجُ ٱلۡحَيَّ مِنَ ٱلۡمَيِّتِ وَيُخۡرِجُ ٱلۡمَيِّتَ مِنَ ٱلۡحَيِّ وَيُحۡيِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِهَاۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ تُخۡرَجُونَ

19. He brings forth the living from the dead, and brings forth the dead from the living, and revives the earth after its death. And thus you will be brought forth (from death to life).

20 : 30

وَمِنۡ ءَايَٰتِهِۦٓ أَنۡ خَلَقَكُم مِّن تُرَابٖ ثُمَّ إِذَآ أَنتُم بَشَرٞ تَنتَشِرُونَ

20. Among Allah’s signs is that He created you from dust, and behold you are human beings scattered all around.

21 : 30

وَمِنۡ ءَايَٰتِهِۦٓ أَنۡ خَلَقَ لَكُم مِّنۡ أَنفُسِكُمۡ أَزۡوَٰجٗا لِّتَسۡكُنُوٓاْ إِلَيۡهَا وَجَعَلَ بَيۡنَكُم مَّوَدَّةٗ وَرَحۡمَةًۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّقَوۡمٖ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ

21. Among His signs is that He created spouses for you from yourselves that you may find comfort in them, and He placed between you affection and mercy. There are certainly Signs in this for a people who reflect (and realize the Truth).

22 : 30

وَمِنۡ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ خَلۡقُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَٱخۡتِلَٰفُ أَلۡسِنَتِكُمۡ وَأَلۡوَٰنِكُمۡۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّلۡعَٰلِمِينَ

22. Among His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the differences of your languages and colors. In this there are certainly signs for those who have knowledge.

23 : 30

وَمِنۡ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ مَنَامُكُم بِٱلَّيۡلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ وَٱبۡتِغَآؤُكُم مِّن فَضۡلِهِۦٓۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّقَوۡمٖ يَسۡمَعُونَ

23. And among His signs is your sleeping and your seeking of His bounty by night and day. In this, there are certainly signs for a people who listen.

24 : 30

وَمِنۡ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ يُرِيكُمُ ٱلۡبَرۡقَ خَوۡفٗا وَطَمَعٗا وَيُنَزِّلُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءٗ فَيُحۡيِۦ بِهِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِهَآۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّقَوۡمٖ يَعۡقِلُونَ

24. Among His signs is that He shows you lightning for fear and for hope, and sends down water from the sky which revives the earth after its death. There are certainly signs in this for a people who understand.

25 : 30

وَمِنۡ ءَايَٰتِهِۦٓ أَن تَقُومَ ٱلسَّمَآءُ وَٱلۡأَرۡضُ بِأَمۡرِهِۦۚ ثُمَّ إِذَا دَعَاكُمۡ دَعۡوَةٗ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ إِذَآ أَنتُمۡ تَخۡرُجُونَ

25. And among His signs is that the sky and the earth stand firm by His command. Then when He calls you with a (single) call from the earth, at once you come forth.

26 : 30

وَلَهُۥ مَن فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ كُلّٞ لَّهُۥ قَٰنِتُونَ

26. And to Him belongs whoever is in the heavens and the earth. All are obedient to Him.

27 : 30

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِي يَبۡدَؤُاْ ٱلۡخَلۡقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُۥ وَهُوَ أَهۡوَنُ عَلَيۡهِۚ وَلَهُ ٱلۡمَثَلُ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ

27. And it is He (Allāh) Who originates the creation, then will repeat it - which is even easier for Him. And to Him belongs the Most Exalted similitude in the heavens and the earth. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

28 : 30

ضَرَبَ لَكُم مَّثَلٗا مِّنۡ أَنفُسِكُمۡۖ هَل لَّكُم مِّن مَّا مَلَكَتۡ أَيۡمَٰنُكُم مِّن شُرَكَآءَ فِي مَا رَزَقۡنَٰكُمۡ فَأَنتُمۡ فِيهِ سَوَآءٞ تَخَافُونَهُمۡ كَخِيفَتِكُمۡ أَنفُسَكُمۡۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ لِقَوۡمٖ يَعۡقِلُونَ

28. He sets forth to you an example from yourselves: do you have, among what your right hands possess, any partners in what We have provided for you, so you are equal in it, you fear them as you fear yourselves (within a partnership) ^[13]? Thus We explain the Verses for a people who understand.

[13]. So how can you make some of God’s creatures partners to Him?

29 : 30

بَلِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓاْ أَهۡوَآءَهُم بِغَيۡرِ عِلۡمٖۖ فَمَن يَهۡدِي مَنۡ أَضَلَّ ٱللَّهُۖ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ

29. In fact, those who do wrong follow their lowly desires without any (Divine) Knowledge. So who can guide him whom Allāh has left astray ^[14]? For such there are no helpers.

[14]. Because of his arrogance and persistent in sin.

30 : 30

فَأَقِمۡ وَجۡهَكَ لِلدِّينِ حَنِيفٗاۚ فِطۡرَتَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّتِي فَطَرَ ٱلنَّاسَ عَلَيۡهَاۚ لَا تَبۡدِيلَ لِخَلۡقِ ٱللَّهِۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلدِّينُ ٱلۡقَيِّمُ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ

30. So direct your face towards (Islam) the upright religion, inclining to truth - the natural disposition ^[15] of Allāh which He has instilled in (all) people. No change should there be of Allah’s creation. This is the right religion, but most people do not know.

[15]. The natural inborn inclination of man to worship his Creator alone, prior to the corruption of his nature by external influences.

31 : 30

۞ مُنِيبِينَ إِلَيۡهِ وَٱتَّقُوهُ وَأَقِيمُواْ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَلَا تَكُونُواْ مِنَ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ

31. Turning to Him [in repentance], and be mindful of Him, keep up the prayer and do not be of the polytheists,

32 : 30

مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ فَرَّقُواْ دِينَهُمۡ وَكَانُواْ شِيَعٗاۖ كُلُّ حِزۡبِۭ بِمَا لَدَيۡهِمۡ فَرِحُونَ

32. Of those who split up their religion and became (dissenting) sects ^[16], every sect rejoicing in what they have with them ^[17].

[16]. Denominations: Catholicism, Protestantism, Orthodoxy, Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, etc. Where do you turn for Truth? What is true is always true. When every person you meet holds a different standard of belief, where do you turn? We need a universal standard of truth around which people of all ages, races, and cultures can unite. And by the grace of God, we have one. That is God’s true religion, Islam.
[17]. Of beliefs, opinions, ancestral customs, etc., disregarding the true religion of God, Islam.

33 : 30

وَإِذَا مَسَّ ٱلنَّاسَ ضُرّٞ دَعَوۡاْ رَبَّهُم مُّنِيبِينَ إِلَيۡهِ ثُمَّ إِذَآ أَذَاقَهُم مِّنۡهُ رَحۡمَةً إِذَا فَرِيقٞ مِّنۡهُم بِرَبِّهِمۡ يُشۡرِكُونَ

33. And when harm touches people, they call on their Lord (Allāh), turning to Him (in repentance). Then again when He lets them taste Mercy from Him, at once a part of them associate (others in worship) with their Lord (Allāh),

34 : 30

لِيَكۡفُرُواْ بِمَآ ءَاتَيۡنَٰهُمۡۚ فَتَمَتَّعُواْ فَسَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ

34. So as to disbelieve (and show their ingratitude) for what We have given them. Then enjoy yourselves (for a while), for you shall soon come to know (the consequences of your ingratitude).

35 : 30

أَمۡ أَنزَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ سُلۡطَٰنٗا فَهُوَ يَتَكَلَّمُ بِمَا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يُشۡرِكُونَ

35. Or, have We sent down upon them an authority so he speaks of what they used to associate with Him?

36 : 30

وَإِذَآ أَذَقۡنَا ٱلنَّاسَ رَحۡمَةٗ فَرِحُواْ بِهَاۖ وَإِن تُصِبۡهُمۡ سَيِّئَةُۢ بِمَا قَدَّمَتۡ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ إِذَا هُمۡ يَقۡنَطُونَ

36. When We let people taste (Our) Mercy, they rejoice therein. But if evil befalls them for what their hands have sent forth (of sins), immediately they are in despair.

37 : 30

أَوَلَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَبۡسُطُ ٱلرِّزۡقَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَقۡدِرُۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّقَوۡمٖ يُؤۡمِنُونَ

37. Do they not see that Allāh extends the provision for whom He wills and straitens (it for whom He wills)? There are certainly signs in this for a people who believe.

38 : 30

فَـَٔاتِ ذَا ٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰ حَقَّهُۥ وَٱلۡمِسۡكِينَ وَٱبۡنَ ٱلسَّبِيلِۚ ذَٰلِكَ خَيۡرٞ لِّلَّذِينَ يُرِيدُونَ وَجۡهَ ٱللَّهِۖ وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡمُفۡلِحُونَ

38. So give the relatives his due right (of charity), the destitute, and the stranded traveller (and strangers and foreigners). This is best for the ones who desire the Face of Allāh. And it is these who are the successful.

39 : 30

وَمَآ ءَاتَيۡتُم مِّن رِّبٗا لِّيَرۡبُوَاْ فِيٓ أَمۡوَٰلِ ٱلنَّاسِ فَلَا يَرۡبُواْ عِندَ ٱللَّهِۖ وَمَآ ءَاتَيۡتُم مِّن زَكَوٰةٖ تُرِيدُونَ وَجۡهَ ٱللَّهِ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡمُضۡعِفُونَ

39. And what you give for usury (interest) to increase in (the) wealth of people, then it does not increase with Allāh. But what you give as Zakat (obligatory charity), seeking the Face of Allāh - then those are they who will get (recompense) manifold.

40 : 30

ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَكُمۡ ثُمَّ رَزَقَكُمۡ ثُمَّ يُمِيتُكُمۡ ثُمَّ يُحۡيِيكُمۡۖ هَلۡ مِن شُرَكَآئِكُم مَّن يَفۡعَلُ مِن ذَٰلِكُم مِّن شَيۡءٖۚ سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشۡرِكُونَ

40. It is Allāh Who created you, then provided for you, then will cause you to die, then will bring you back to life (for Judgment). Is there any of your associate-gods who does of that any thing? Glory be to Him (Allāh) and exalted is He above what they associate (with Him in worship).

41 : 30

ظَهَرَ ٱلۡفَسَادُ فِي ٱلۡبَرِّ وَٱلۡبَحۡرِ بِمَا كَسَبَتۡ أَيۡدِي ٱلنَّاسِ لِيُذِيقَهُم بَعۡضَ ٱلَّذِي عَمِلُواْ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَرۡجِعُونَ

41. Corruption has appeared throughout the land and sea for what the hands of people have earned (of sins), that He may let them taste a part of that which they have done, so that they may return (to righteousness).

42 : 30

قُلۡ سِيرُواْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَٱنظُرُواْ كَيۡفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلُۚ كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّشۡرِكِينَ

42. Say: "Travel throughout the land, then see how was the end of those (destroyed) before (you); most of them were idolaters."

43 : 30

فَأَقِمۡ وَجۡهَكَ لِلدِّينِ ٱلۡقَيِّمِ مِن قَبۡلِ أَن يَأۡتِيَ يَوۡمٞ لَّا مَرَدَّ لَهُۥ مِنَ ٱللَّهِۖ يَوۡمَئِذٖ يَصَّدَّعُونَ

43. So set your face toward the upright religion (of Islam) before there comes from Allāh a Day which cannot be averted. On that Day, they will be divided.

44 : 30

مَن كَفَرَ فَعَلَيۡهِ كُفۡرُهُۥۖ وَمَنۡ عَمِلَ صَٰلِحٗا فَلِأَنفُسِهِمۡ يَمۡهَدُونَ

44. Whoever disbelieves, then his disbelief is against him. And whoever does (what is) right (and just), for their own selves they are preparing (eternal homes in Paradise),

45 : 30

لِيَجۡزِيَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦٓۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ

45. So that He may reward those who believe and do righteous deeds out of His favor. Surely He (Allāh) does not like the disbelievers.

46 : 30

وَمِنۡ ءَايَٰتِهِۦٓ أَن يُرۡسِلَ ٱلرِّيَاحَ مُبَشِّرَٰتٖ وَلِيُذِيقَكُم مِّن رَّحۡمَتِهِۦ وَلِتَجۡرِيَ ٱلۡفُلۡكُ بِأَمۡرِهِۦ وَلِتَبۡتَغُواْ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦ وَلَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُونَ

46. And among His signs is that He sends forth the winds bearing good tidings (of rain), and to let you taste of His mercy, and that may sail the ships at His Command, and that you may seek of His Bounty, and that you may be grateful.

47 : 30

وَلَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ رُسُلًا إِلَىٰ قَوۡمِهِمۡ فَجَآءُوهُم بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ فَٱنتَقَمۡنَا مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَجۡرَمُواْۖ وَكَانَ حَقًّا عَلَيۡنَا نَصۡرُ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ

47. And indeed, We sent before you (Muhammad) messengers to their people, so they came to them with clear Proofs. Then, We exacted retribution upon (those) who (committed) crimes, for it is incumbent on Us to help the believers.

48 : 30

ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِي يُرۡسِلُ ٱلرِّيَٰحَ فَتُثِيرُ سَحَابٗا فَيَبۡسُطُهُۥ فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِ كَيۡفَ يَشَآءُ وَيَجۡعَلُهُۥ كِسَفٗا فَتَرَى ٱلۡوَدۡقَ يَخۡرُجُ مِنۡ خِلَٰلِهِۦۖ فَإِذَآ أَصَابَ بِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِهِۦٓ إِذَا هُمۡ يَسۡتَبۡشِرُونَ

48. It is Allāh Who sends forth the winds to raise a cloud, then He spreads it forth in the sky as He wills, and makes them fragments, so that you see the rain coming forth from inside it. Then when He causes it to fall on whoever He wills of His slaves (of mankind and jinn), immediately they are joyful.

49 : 30

وَإِن كَانُواْ مِن قَبۡلِ أَن يُنَزَّلَ عَلَيۡهِم مِّن قَبۡلِهِۦ لَمُبۡلِسِينَ

49. Even though they were from before it was sent down upon them, just before it, surely in total despair.

50 : 30

فَٱنظُرۡ إِلَىٰٓ ءَاثَٰرِ رَحۡمَتِ ٱللَّهِ كَيۡفَ يُحۡيِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِهَآۚ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ لَمُحۡيِ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰۖ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٞ

50. See then at the effects of Allah’s mercy, how He revives the earth after its death. Indeed, that He will certainly give life to the dead. For He has full Power over all things.

51 : 30

وَلَئِنۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا رِيحٗا فَرَأَوۡهُ مُصۡفَرّٗا لَّظَلُّواْ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِۦ يَكۡفُرُونَ

51. But if We send a wind and they see it (their crops) turn yellow, they would remain thereafter disbelievers.

52 : 30

فَإِنَّكَ لَا تُسۡمِعُ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ وَلَا تُسۡمِعُ ٱلصُّمَّ ٱلدُّعَآءَ إِذَا وَلَّوۡاْ مُدۡبِرِينَ

52. So indeed, you will not make the dead to hear, nor will you make the deaf hear to the call when they turn their backs, retreating.

53 : 30

وَمَآ أَنتَ بِهَٰدِ ٱلۡعُمۡيِ عَن ضَلَٰلَتِهِمۡۖ إِن تُسۡمِعُ إِلَّا مَن يُؤۡمِنُ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا فَهُم مُّسۡلِمُونَ

53. And you can not guide the blind (of heart) out of their error. You can make none to hear except those who believes in Our verses, and so they are Muslims (submitters to God).

54 : 30

۞ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَكُم مِّن ضَعۡفٖ ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ ضَعۡفٖ قُوَّةٗ ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ قُوَّةٖ ضَعۡفٗا وَشَيۡبَةٗۚ يَخۡلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ ٱلۡقَدِيرُ

54.It is Allāh Who created you in a state of weakness, then after weakness given you strength, then made after strength weakness and gray hair. He creates what He wills. For He is the All-Knowing, the Most Powerful.

55 : 30

وَيَوۡمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ يُقۡسِمُ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ مَا لَبِثُواْ غَيۡرَ سَاعَةٖۚ كَذَٰلِكَ كَانُواْ يُؤۡفَكُونَ

55. And on the Day when the Hour (of Doom) comes up, the guilty will swear that they did not remain (in their graves) except an hour. thus they had been turned away.

56 : 30

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡعِلۡمَ وَٱلۡإِيمَٰنَ لَقَدۡ لَبِثۡتُمۡ فِي كِتَٰبِ ٱللَّهِ إِلَىٰ يَوۡمِ ٱلۡبَعۡثِۖ فَهَٰذَا يَوۡمُ ٱلۡبَعۡثِ وَلَٰكِنَّكُمۡ كُنتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ

56. And those who were given (right) knowledge and faith will say: "You have certainly remained according to the Decree of Allāh until the Day of Resurrection. So this is the Day of Resurrection, but you did not used to know."

57 : 30

فَيَوۡمَئِذٖ لَّا يَنفَعُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ مَعۡذِرَتُهُمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يُسۡتَعۡتَبُونَ

57. So on that Day their excuse will not benefit those who did injustice ^[18], nor will they be allowed to appease (Allāh).

[18]. By associating partners in worship with Allāh, and by denying the Day of Resurrection and Judgment.

58 : 30

وَلَقَدۡ ضَرَبۡنَا لِلنَّاسِ فِي هَٰذَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ مِن كُلِّ مَثَلٖۚ وَلَئِن جِئۡتَهُم بِـَٔايَةٖ لَّيَقُولَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ إِنۡ أَنتُمۡ إِلَّا مُبۡطِلُونَ

58. We have certainly set forth for the people every kind of example in this Qur’an. And if you (Muhammad) bring them any Sign, those who disbelieve (in the Truth) would say: "You are not but fakers."

59 : 30

كَذَٰلِكَ يَطۡبَعُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ

59. Thus does Allāh set a seal on the hearts of those who do not know ^[19].

[19]. I.e., those who do not seek the truth of Islam; rather, reject it.

60 : 30

فَٱصۡبِرۡ إِنَّ وَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقّٞۖ وَلَا يَسۡتَخِفَّنَّكَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُوقِنُونَ

60. So be patient. For the Promise of Allāh is always true. And let not those who have no certainty (in the Hereafter life) take you in light estimation ^[20].

[20]. So as to make you impatient and depart from what you are upon of right conduct.Therefore stand firm. Let nothing move you from the stance of Islam. Always give yourselves fully to the worship of Allāh, because you know that your striving for Allāh is not in vain.
