Traducción de significados Capítulo: Sura Al-Maaida   Versículo:

Al-Mā’idah

1. O believers, fulfill (your) contracts (and obligations)¹. The grazing livestock are lawful to you (as food) except that which is recited to you (in this Qur’an). Hunting (also) not being permitted while you are in the state of ritual consecration during pilgrimage. Indeed, Allāh decrees what He wills.
1. The covenants that one has with Allāh or the contracts with people. This also includes promises, pledges, vows, oaths, etc.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
2. O believers, do not violate the rites of Allāh, the sacred months2, the animals brought for sacrifice to the percinct of the Sacred House, or the garlanded people or animals (for their security), or the people heading to the Sacred House (at Makkah) seeking the Favor of their Lord 'Allāh'. When you are free from the obligations of the pilgrimage, then you may hunt. Let not hatred of a people because they hindered you from the Sacred Mosque (at Makkah) incite you to transgress. Help one another in furthering virtue (and good morals) and warding off (evil), and do not help one another in sin and transgression. Fear Allāh and shun evil. Allāh is Severe in punishment.
2. The four sacrosanct months are Dhul-Qi‘dah, Dhul-Hijjah, Muḥarram, and Rajab.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
3. Prohibited to you (as food) is carrion3, blood4, pork, an animal slaughtered and consecrated in the name of other than Allāh, (those animals killed) by strangling or by a violent blow or by a head-long fall or by the goring of horns5, that from which wild beast have eaten, except what (you are able) to slaughter (before its death); what is slaughtered at the altars of idols. (You are prohibited also) to seek decision through divining arrows6; this is grave disobedience. This day those who deny (the Truth) have despaired of your religion, so fear them not, but fear Me. This day I have perfected for you your religion, and completed My Favor on you, and approved for you Islam as a religion (and way of life). If anyone not inclined to sin is compelled by hunger (he may eat it to spare his life)7. Allāh is certainly Forgiving, Merciful.
3. Excluding dead sea creatures consumed as food.
4. Blood that has been shed from an animal is not to be eaten. Blood that is still inside an animal after slaughter is not to be eaten.
5. Strangled animals are that has not been killed in the prescribed manner by God. The prescribed manner of death is slaughter by exsanguination, or bleeding out. And from things strangled – That is, from animals or birds that were killed without shedding their blood. The reason why these are considered unlawful to be eaten is, that thus they would be under a necessity of eating blood, which is forbidden in Islam. When any beast or fowl is taken in a snare, the blood should be poured out before it is lawful to be eaten. From things strangled; such as animals that die of themselves, or are torn with beasts, or are not killed in a proper way, by letting out their blood; but their blood is stagnated or congealed in the veins. Allāh permitted mankind to eat the flesh of animals. Since they are Allah’s creatures, Allāh had the right to tell man how they should slaughter and eat His animals.
6. This was a pagan practice before Islam, whereby they had three lots (flat marked pieces of wood) dedicated to divinations. On each there was written either: “My Lord commanded me”, “My Lord forbade me”, or nothing at all. A person would abide by what the lot told him, but if he drew the empty one, he would recast again until he drew either one of the other two.
7. To eat unlawful substances such as the meat of dead animal to save his life.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
4. They ask you 'Muhammad' what is allowed to them. Say: "Lawful to you are 'all' pure foods8 and (game caught by) what you have trained of hunting dogs 'and falcons' or other beasts, which you train as Allāh has taught you. So eat of that which they catch for you9, and mention the Name of Allāh over it. Fear Allāh. For Allāh is Swift in Reckoning.
8. All good food that causes no harm to the body or the intellect.
9. A companion of the Prophet said: “O Messenger of God, I set my dog on a prey and mention Allah’s Name ”. He replied: “When you set your dog and mention Allah’s Name and he catches, kills and eats, then do not eat of the prey because he caught it for itself”. Then I said: “Sometimes I set my dog on a prey and he gets joined by another dog ˹which is not mine˺ and I do not know which one of them caught it”. He answered: “Then do not eat it because you mentioned Allah’s Name for your dog not the other”.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
5. This day (all) pure foods are made lawful to you. Food of those 'the Jews and Christians' who have been given the Scripture is lawful for you10 and your food is lawful for them. (Lawful for you to marry are) the chaste among the believing women and the chaste among those who have been given the Scripture before you, when you have given them their dowries, maintaining chastity, avoiding fornication or lustful relations outside of marriage. Whoever denies Faith11, indeed his deed is in vain, and in the Hereafter, he will be of the losers.
10. Except the forbidden categories of meat. The Jews and Christians are closer to and share a degree of commonality with the Muslims because they are originally monotheistic, unlike the outright idolaters of them, which makes eating their slaughtered cattle, eatable animals and marrying their women unlawful.
11. By neglecting the pillars of Islam such as the prayer, alms giving, fasting, hajj, or by keeping an alliance and intimacy with the disbelievers.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
6. O believers, when you are about to pray, wash your faces and your hands as far as the elbows, and wipe (with wet hands lightly over) your heads (including the ears) and (wash) your feet to the ankles. If you had sexual contact or experience seminal discharge, then take a full bath, but if you are sick or on a journey, or one of you have just defecated12, or you have touched women13, and you cannot find water, resort to pure soil and rub (lightly over) your faces and your hands therewith14. Allāh does not want you to suffer hardship, but He wants to purify you and to complete His favor upon you - so that you may be grateful.

7. Remember the Favor of Allāh on you and His covenant with which He bound you firmly15, when you said: "We hear and we obey." So fear Allāh and keep His commandments. Indeed, Allāh knows what is in the chests (of mankind and jinn).
15. This verse which strongly reminds the believers of their binding pledge with Allāh, including that of respecting His ordained laws, is central to the believing community.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
8. O believers, be upright for Allāh16, bearers of witness with justice. Let not hatred of a people incite you to deal unjustly; deal justly, that is nearer to piety. Fear Allāh and keep to His commandments. Allāh is All-Aware of what you do.
16. That is to be ardent upholders of Allah’s rights, not seeking fame or worldly gain.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
9. Allāh has promised to those who believe and do righteous deeds (that) they will have forgiveness and a great reward.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
10. As for those who deny (the Truth) and reject Our Verses (of the Qur’an), these are the occupants of the Hellfire.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
11. O believers, remember the Favor of Allāh upon you when a (hostile) people17 had determined to stretch forth their hands against you, but Allāh withheld their hands from you. So fear Allāh and keep to His commandments. On Allāh 'alone' let the believers rely.
17. A group of unbelieving Jews.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
12. Indeed, Allāh made a Covenant with the children of Israel, and raised among them twelve chiefs18. Allāh said to them: "I am with you; if you are steadfast in your prayers, pay the poor-rate, believe in My messengers19, support them with reverence, and lend to Allāh a goodly loan20, I will certainly remove your misdeeds, and admit you into Gardens under which rivers flow. But whoever denies (the Truth) among you after that, he has indeed strayed from the right Path.
18. Naqīb is the chief of a clan. They were charged with taking the oaths of those for whom they were responsible such that they would listen to and obey Allah’s commandments. They were also required to guide and encourage believers to adhere to these commandments.

13. But because of breaking their covenant, We have cursed them (the Jews) and made their hearts hard 'as stone'. They distort the meaning (of the revealed) words, taking them out of their context, and they forgot a portion of what they were reminded of21. You will always find treachery in them except a few. So pardon them and bear with (their misdeeds). Allāh surely loves the good-doers.
21. In the Torah, concerning the coming of the Prophet Muhammad.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
14. From among those who say, We are Nazarenes 'Christians', We took their Covenant, but they forgot a portion of what they were sent to them22, so We caused enmity and hatred among them 'their various sects' until the Day of Resurrection. Allāh will inform them of what they used to do (of evil).
22. In the Gospel, concerning the coming of the Prophet Muhammed.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
15. O followers of the (past) Scripture, Indeed Our messenger 'Muhammad' has come to you making clear to you much of what you concealed of the Scripture and overlooking much23; indeed, there has come to you from Allāh a Light and a clear Book (this Qur’an).
23. Of your sin in that regard.
Las Exégesis Árabes:

16. By which Allāh guides those who follow His pleasure into the ways of peace (and salvation), and brings them out of utter darknesses into light by His will, and guides them to a right Path.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
17. They have certainly departed from the faith who say that: "Allāh 'God' is the Christ, the son of Mary." Say 'Muhammad': "Who then can do anything against Allāh, in case He wills cause Christ, son of Mary, his mother, and all that is on the earth to perish?" To Allāh alone belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth and what is between them. He creates what He wills. For Allāh has Power over all things.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
18. The Jews and the Nazarenes say: "We are the children of God and His beloved ones." Say: "Why does He then chastise you for your sins?" Rather, you are but human beings, from among those He has created. He forgives whom He wills and chastises whom He wills. To Allāh belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, and to Him is the (final) return.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
19. O followers of the (past) Scripture, there has come to you Our messenger  'Muhammad' making clear to you (the true religion) after a period (of suspension) of the (mission of the) messengers24, lest you say: "There did not come to us a giver of good news or a warner," so indeed there has come to you a giver of good news25 and a warner26. For Allāh has full Power over all things.
24.The first and only Prophet of God that was sent to humanity after Jesus is Muhammad. Prophet Muhammad said in one of his sermons: “Indeed, Allāh, my Lord has commanded me to tell you something which you do not know about which He told me today. ˹Allah, glory be His, said:˺… ‘I created all My servants rightly-oriented ˹to the true religion of Islam ˺, then the devils came and swerved them away from their religion; they made unlawful for them what I made lawful and bade them to associate with Me that for which I made no authority’. ˹The Messenger of God continued˺ “Then Allāh, looked at the dwellers of Earth and He held them all in disfavour, Arabs and non-Arabs, except some remaining few of the People of the Scripture and He said: ‘I sent you to try you and try by you and I sent down to you a Book (the Qur’an) that will be protected from distortion; you read it awake and asleep…’” .

Las Exégesis Árabes:
21. O my people, enter the sacred land (Jerusalem) which Allāh has assigned to you and do not turn on your backs (from fighting for Allah’s Cause), for then you will become losers.
Las Exégesis Árabes:

23. Two men29 of those who feared 'to disobey Allāh', upon both of whom Allah had bestowed Favor, said: "Enter upon them by the gate, for when you have entered it you shall be victorious. On Allāh should you rely, if you are truly believers."
29. Joshua and Caleb. They were heroes in the history of the Muslims of the children of Israel. when Moses sent Scouts into the land of canaan, Joshua and Caleb were the two courageous men from the group who reported that the Canaanites could be defeated. Moses promised Caleb that his family would have a particularly good section of the land that was to be conquered. His faith and devotion to Allāh had sustained him through decades of wilderness living and wars to secure the inheritance Allāh had promised the Muslims of children of Israel. Caleb said, “I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out; I’m just as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was then”. Caleb declared that by “Allāh helping me, I will drive them out just as he said”.
Regardless of age, stage in life, or circumstances, Allāh will help all who wholeheartedly trust Him. The Qur’an inspire faith in Allāh through following God's last messenger, the Prophet Muhammad. He demonstrated God’s care and compassion for all who looked to Him for help, “Allāh is Our helper; we will not be afraid.”
Las Exégesis Árabes:
24. They said: "Moses, we will never enter it as long as they are in it; go you and your Lord, and fight; we are staying right here."
Las Exégesis Árabes:
25. 'Moses' said: "Lord 'Allāh', I have no control 'upon any' but my own self and my brother 'Aaron'; so separate us from these sinful people.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
26. 'Allāh' said: "So it will be forbidden to them for forty years30, they will wander about in the land. Do not grieve for the rebellious people."
30. Allāh, the Most High, decreed that they should be wandering in the land for a period of 40 years as punishment for their iniquities.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
27. Relate to them the true story of the two sons of Adam 'Cain and Abel'. Each one of them offered an offering, but it was accepted from one of them31, and was not accepted from the other32. He 'Cain, out of his jealousy and envy' said 'to his brother': "I will certainly kill you." 'Abel' replied: "Allāh only accepts from the righteous."
31. Abel, as he offered the best from his flocks of sheep.
32. Cain, as he offered the worst of his harvest.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
28. If you raise your hand toward me to kill me, I shall not raise my hand toward you to kill you, for I fear Allāh, Lord of all beings.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
29. I want that you bear 'thereby' my sin33 and your own sin, 'but' then you would be destined for the Hellfire. Such is the recompense of the unjust.
33. The sin of killing me.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
30. Then the others 'Cain’s' soul imposed on him the killing of his brother 'Abel', so he killed him; then he became a loser34.
34. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: “No soul ever gets killed unjustifiably, unless the early son of Adam 'Cain' shoulders some of the burden of its blood, for he was the first human to spill blood ˹on Earth˺.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
31. Then Allāh sent a crow digging up the earth, so that he might show him how he should cover his brother's 'naked' corpse. 'Cain' said: "Oh, Do I lack the strength that I should be like this crow and cover my brother's 'naked' corpse?" So he became 'deeply' remorseful.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
32. That is why We decreed for the children of Israel (and for all the people after them) that whoever kills a person, unless it be for retaliation of murder or for mischief (done) in the land, it is as though he killed all of mankind35. Whoever saves a life, it is as though he saves the lives of all mankind. Certainly Our mesengers came to them with clear Proofs, but even after that many of them throughout the land are transgressors.
35. The Prophet Muhammad said: "The biggest of sins are: (1) To associate partners with Allah, (2) to murder a human being, (3) to disobey your parents (4) and to give a false testimony".
Las Exégesis Árabes:
33. The punishment of those who wage war against Allāh and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land36 is none but that they should be killed or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or that they should be banished from the land 37. This is the disgrace for them in this world, and in the Hereafter they will have a grievous torment.
36. I.e., the armed individuals or groups who commit crimes against civilians.
37. This verse details the penal code for such acts as highway robbery and banditry.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
34. Except those who repent before you seize them; in that case, know that Allāh is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
35. O believers, fear Allāh and seek means of nearness to Him38, and strive hard in His Path, that you may succeed.
38. By doing what pleases Allāh Almighty.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
36. Indeed, those who deny 'the Truth', even if they had twice as much as the wealth of all that what is in the earth, in order to ransom themselves from the chastisement of the Day of Judgment, it will not be accepted from them - theirs is a painful torment.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
37. They will wish to get out of the eternal Fire, but they will not come out from it - for them is a lasting torment.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
38. As for the thief, male or female, cut off their hands as a recompense for that which they have committed39, as a deterrent punishment from Allāh. For Allāh is All-Mighty, All-Wise.
39. Theft proven either by confession or by the testimony of two reliable eye witnesses, and it is not an opportunistic theft but rather a deliberate break in to property.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
39. But whoever repents after his iniquity and reforms (himself), certainly Allāh will accept his repentance; for Allāh is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
40. Do you not know that Allāh - His is the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth? He chastises whom He wills, and forgives whom He wills - for Allāh has full Power over all things.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
41.O Messenger 'Muhammad', let not those grieve you who strive together in hastening to denial, among those who say with their mouths: "We believe," but their hearts believe not, and from among the Jews. They are avid listeners of falsehood, listening to another people who have not come to you; they change the meaning (of the revealed) Words, taking them out of their context40, saying: "If you are given this (teaching), take it, and if you are not given this, be cautious". Whoever Allāh wants to put to trial, you cannot possess (power to do) anything for him against Allāh. These are the ones for whom Allāh does not intend that He purify their hearts. They will have disgrace in this world, and they will have a grievous torment in the Hereafter.
40. The relationship between the Qur’an, the final, overruling Book of God and the earlier ones. It establishes that those who were given the Scripture before Islam are better off either following the doctrines of the Qur’an or reinstating their own respective Scriptures in their pristine, uncorrupted, devoutly acting and ruling by them.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
42. (They are avid) listeners to falsehood, devourers of what is unlawful acquired. If they come to you, either judge between them or turn away from them. If you turn away from them, they will not harm you at all. But if you judge, then judge between them with justice. Indeed, Allāh loves those who are just (and fair).
Las Exégesis Árabes:
43. But how do they make you a judge and they have the Torah wherein is God’s Judgment? Yet they turn away after that41. But those are not (true) believers.
41.This also underlines the insincerity of the Jewish. How could Muhammad (ﷺ) be hopeful that they would resort to and abide by his code of law when they were irreverent of the very code of law (the Torah) they outwardly and to all appearances subscribed to!
Las Exégesis Árabes:
44. We sent down the Torah, in which was guidance and light; with it the Prophets who submitted themselves 'to Allāh' judged (matters) for the Jews, and the rabbis and the scholars (too judged by the Torah after those Prophets), as they were required to observe the Scripture of Allāh, and they were witnesses thereto. So do not fear the people but fear Me, and do not exchange My verses for a worldly gain42. For whoever does not judge by what Allāh has sent down, then it is they who are the deniers.
42. Those who were entrusted with preserving the Scripture of God, the Torah, at the time of the Prophet are especially cautioned not to make fear of influential people nor following their vain desires and greed put them off from fulfilling their task of safeguarding it against alteration and distortion. The guardians of Divine law should bear the fear of God first and foremost in their minds and not that of fellow men. They should pronounce the judgement of God as found in His Writ irrespective of the status or influence of the person who is affected by it. Nor are they to be swayed by bribes and worldly gains.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
45. We ordained for them in it (the Torah) that a life is for a life, an eye for an eye, a nose for a nose, an ear for an ear, a tooth for a tooth, and for wounds an equal retaliation. But he who remits it by way of charity, it will be an expiation for him43. Whoever does not judge by what Allāh has revealed, then it is they who are the unjust.
43. A person who is injured should not be driven by spitefulness and the desire to exact revenge. This spirit of forgiveness is not only encouraged by Allāh but is also generously rewarded for.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
46. We sent after them in their footsteps Jesus, the son of Mary44, confirming what was before him of the Torah and We gave him the Evangel in which was guidance and light, and confirming what was before it of the Torah and guidance and an admonition for the righteous.
44. Muhammad, God’s Messenger said, "I am the nearest of all the people to Jesus, the son of Mary, and all the Prophets are paternal brothers, and there has been no prophet between me and him (Jesus)."
Las Exégesis Árabes:
47. Let the people of the Evangel judge by what Allāh has revealed in it. For whoever does not judge by what Allāh has revealed -then it is they who are the rebellious.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
48. We have revealed to you the Book (Qur’an) in truth, confirming what is before it of the Scripture and a Guardian over it45. So judge between them by what Allāh has revealed, and do not follow their lowly desires over the Truth that has come to you. To each and every one of you did We appoint a Law and a way of life. And if Allāh had willed, He would have made you (all) one nation (united in one religion, Islam), but He intended that He test you in what He has given you. So compete with one another in doing good deeds. To Allāh is your (final) return, all together, and then He will inform you concerning that in which you used to differ.
45. Guardian over it, is encompassing the laws and dictates found in earlier Scriptures; establishing those which are still valid and overruling those which are not.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
49. Hence judge between them by what Allāh has revealed, and do not follow their vain desires, and be cautious of them, lest they turn you from part of what Allāh has revealed to you. If they turn away, then know that Allāh intends to afflict them because of some of their sins; and that many of the people are indeed rebellious.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
50. Is it then the judgment of (the times of) ignorance that they desire46? Who is better than Allāh to judge for a people who have certainty?
46. Those who do not surrender to the ruling of God and His messenger are only opting for the ruling of ignorance itself; nothing but groundless laws set by people following their vain desires and basing them not on any of the Scriptures of God which are light and guidance to people.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
51. O believers, do not take the Jews and the Nazarenes 'Christians'47 for allies, they are allies of one another. For whoever among you associates himself with them48, then he is one of them. Indeed, Allāh does not guide the unjust people.
47. Who are at war with you or who demean people of Faith.
48. I.e., aids them against the believers, or opts for their religion over Islam.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
52. You see those in whose hearts is a sickness (of doubt and hesitation) hastening into (association with the unbelieving Jews and Christians), saying: "We fear a misfortune may strike us." But perhaps Allāh will bring victory or Command (an affliction) from Him, and they (the hypocrites) will become regretful from what they have been concealing within themselves.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
53. Those who believe will say (about the hypocrites after their exposure): Are these the ones who swore by Allāh with their strongest oaths that they were with you? Their deeds have become worthless, and they have become losers49.
49. These hypocrites, honoring Allāh with their lips while their hearts are far from Him. They worship Allāh in vain, He avers, since they have abandoned “the commandment of Allāh and hold in its place the tradition of men. Besides earning the Anger of Allāh and having their thin cover blown, all what they bargained for and threw their weight behind came to nothing. Thus, the immensity of their loss.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
54. O believers, whoever of you turns back from his religion (of Islam)50, then Allāh will bring forth (in place of them) a people, whom He will love51 and they will love Him52, humble towards the believers, mighty against the deniers, striving hard in Allah’s Way and not fearing the blame of the blamers. This is Allah’s bounty, He gives it to whom He wills. For Allāh is Ample-Giving, All-Knowing.
50. Disregarding the commandment of not aligning one’s self with the enemies of the believers is considered a renouncement of religion.
51. This inspire us to receive Allah’s love and then demonstrate it to others through acts of service, patience, humility, and sacrifice.
52. If we love God, we must keep to His commandments and follow His last and final messenger, the Prophet Muhammad.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
55. Indeed your 'true' guardian is none but Allāh, His messenger 'Muhammad', and those who believe, who keep up the prayer and pay the poor-rate while they bow (and submit themselves to Allāh alone).
Las Exégesis Árabes:
56. Whoever takes Allāh, His messenger 'Muhammad' and those who believe as guardians, then it is the party of Allāh that will be victorious.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
57. O believers, do not take for guardians those who take your religion as mockery and jest, among those who were given the Scripture before you and the pagans. Fear Allāh and shun evil, if you are believers.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
58. When you call to prayer53, they make it as mockery and jest; this is because they are a people who do not understand.
53. Prayer is singled out here because it is the most outwardly distinctive feature that defines the believing community and sets it apart from the unbelievers. The Prophet said: The Covenant that stands between Us and them Is the Prayer. Whoever abandons It, he has Committed disbelief. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught that prayer is the covenant between Muslims and Allāh, and abandoning it is considered disbelief. He also said: "Between a man and disbelief and paganism is the abandonment of Salat (prayer)".
Las Exégesis Árabes:
59. Say: "O followers of the (past) Scriptures (Jews and Christians), do you find fault with us (for any other reason) except that we believe in Allāh and what has been revealed to us (of the Qur’an) and what was revealed before54, and that most of you are 'persistent' disobedient?
54. Of the Torah, the Gospel, the Psalms, etc.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
60. Say: "Shall I inform you of (what is) worse than that in retribution?" (Worse are the unbelieving Jews) whom Allāh has cursed and brought His wrath upon, and who He turned some of them into monkeys, pigs, and those who worshiped the devil. These are worse in position and more astray from the straight Path.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
61. When they 'the unbelieving Jews' come to you 'believers', they say: "We believe 'in Allāh and His messengers". Indeed, they enter with disbelief and they go forth with it - for Allāh knows best what they were hiding.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
62. You will see many of them 'the Jews' hastening into sin and aggression, and devouring of what is unlawfully acquired. Evil is that what they have been doing.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
63. Why do not 'their' rabbis and scholars prohibit them from their speaking of what is sinful and their devouring of what is unlawfully acquired? Evil indeed is what they have been making.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
64. The Jews said: "The Hand of Allāh is chained55!" Chained are their hands, and cursed are they for what they said. Rather, both His Hands are spread out, He spends freely as He wills. What has been revealed to you from 'Allāh' your Lord will certainly make many of them increase in arrogance and denial. We have put enmity and hatred among them till the Day of Resurrection. Whenever they (the Jews) kindle a fire for war, Allāh extinguishes it. They strive to spread corruption in the land - but Allāh does not like the corrupters.
55. This is yet another example highlighting how rude the Jewish had become in their rebelliousness against God, not only by their sinful actions and their disregarding of His law but more seriously by slandering and speaking profanely against Almighty God. For this, they deservedly earned His Wrath and Damnation.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
65. If the followers of the (past) Scriptures (Jews and Christians) had believed 'in Islam' and guarded 'against major sins' We would have removed their 'lesser' sins, and admitted them into the Gardens of Bliss.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
66. If only they had truly observed (the Laws of) the Torah and the Evangel and that which was revealed to them from 'Allāh' their Lord56, they would have enjoyed provision from above them and from beneath their feet. There is amongst them a just community (who embraced Islam), but (for) most of them, evil is that which they do.
56. E.g., the Psalms, without alteration, omission, or additions to the original text.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
67.O Messenger 'Muhammad', convey (to the people the entire Message) that has been revealed to you from 'Allāh' your Lord. If you do not do that, then you have not conveyed His message. Allāh will protect you from the people. Indeed, Allāh does not guide the denying people.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
68. Say: "O followers of the (past) Scriptures (Jews and Christians), you are not on valid ground (for your beliefs) until you keep up and truly observe the Torah and the Evangel and what is revealed to you from 'Allāh' your Lord (i.e., the Qur’an). Certainly, that which has been revealed to you from 'Allāh' your Lord makes many of them increase in arrogance and denial. So grieve not over the denying people.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
69. The believers (of this nation), those who were Jews, Sabeans or Nazarenes, whoever believed in Allāh 'and His messengers' and the Last Day and did (what is) right (and just) - they shall have no fear, nor shall they grieve.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
70. We took the covenant from the children of Israel and sent them messengers. Whenever there came to them a messenger with that their souls did not desire, a part (of them) they denied and another party they killed.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
71. They thought that there would be no trial57, so they became blind and deaf (to the Truth). Then Allāh forgave them, yet again many of them became blind and deaf. Allāh is All-Seeing of what they do.
57. They deceived themselves by selfishly thinking that they would not be ‘tried’ for their grievous offences. Such self-deceit blinded and deafened them to seeing and hearing the Truth, thus they will not find a way to it. Even after Allāh relented towards them and guided them at a certain juncture of time, a great many of them still fell back into their old ways.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
72. They certainly departed from the faith who say: "Allāh 'God' is the Christ, the son of Mary." But Christ himself said: "Children of Israel, Worship Allāh alone, my Lord and your Lord "and my God and your God" . Whoever associates 'others' with Allāh, then Allāh has forbidden for him Paradise, and his home is the Hellfire. There will be no helpers (intercessors) for the unjust.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
73. They certainly departed from the faith who say: "Allah is the third of three58. There is no god except One God 'Allāh'59. If they do not desist from what they say, a painful torment will befall those among them who deny 'the Truth'.
58. It is the belief that Allāh consists of three equal persons in one Godhead. God the Father, God the Son and the Holy Ghost. A difficult concept to comprehend often referred as a “mystery”. Is the Trinity taught in the Bible? With the exception of one disputed and rejected verse as it is erroneously rendered in the King James Version and a few others (1 John 5:7-8), there is NO scripture that supports a Triune God or a Trinity. The word Trinity appears nowhere in any bible version. When and how did the Trinity become church doctrine? The concept began to take shape at the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD. There was decided and accepted that God the Father and Jesus Christ were of the “same substance” yet separate beings. The Council of Constantinople in 381 AD declared that the Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost was God. The Council of Chalcedon in 451 AD declared that Jesus Christ was both man and God. It would appear that at this point the concept of a Triune God was now accepted as doctrine regardless what is stated in the bible. However historical documents tie the tritinty concept to various ancient beliefs all the way back to Nimrod of Babel, his mother/wife Semiramis and the child Tammuz. Even the trinitarian Roman Catholic Church states this: “The New Catholic Encyclopedia states: “The formulation ‘one God in three Persons’ was not solidly established, certainly not fully assimilated into Christian life and its profession of faith, prior to the end of the 4th century. But it is precisely this formulation that has first claim to the title the Trinitarian dogma. Among the Apostolic Fathers, there had been nothing even remotely approaching such a mentality or perspective.”—(1967), Vol. XIV, p. 299.”
59. Allāh has never had any offspring, nor is there any god besides Him.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
74. Will they not then turn to Allāh and ask His forgiveness? For Allāh is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
75. The Christ, son of Mary is no more than (a servant and) messenger (of Allāh). Indeed, before him (many) messengers had passed away; and his mother (Mary) was a truthful (and faithful) woman. They both used to eat food60. See how We make the Signs clear to them, then look how they are turned away.
60. They both were in need of sustenance, proving that they were not divine beings, unlike Allāh Almighty Who is in no need of anything while everything is in need of Him.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
76. Say: "Do you worship besides Allāh that which does not control for you any harm nor any benefit?" While it is Allāh Who is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
77. Say: "O followers of the (past) Scriptures (Jews and Christians), do not exceed the limits in your faith 'and deeds' beyond the Truth, and do not follow the whims of a people (priests and pastors) who have gone astray before, for they led many astray and went astray themselves from the right Path.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
78. Those who disbelieved among the children of Israel were cursed by the tongue of David and Jesus son of Mary61. This was because they disobeyed and used to transgress.
61. In reference to Psalms 28, 21 -22, 31- 33, and Matthew 12: 34, 23: 13-38.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
79. They used not to forbid each other from the evil deeds they committed. Certainly evil was that which they were doing.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
80. You will see many of them (the Jews) taking as allies those who disbelieve (the idolaters). Certainly evil is that which their own selves have put forth for them, that Allāh became displeased with them and in the torment they will abide.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
81. If they had believed in Allāh and the Prophet 'Moses' and what has been revealed to him (of the Torah), they would not have taken them (the idolaters) for allies, but most of them are truly rebellious.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
82. You find that, of all people, the most hostile to the believers, (to be) the Jews and those who associate others with Allāh (the idolaters). And You find the nearest to the believers in affection (to be) those who say: "We are Christians," for among them are priests and monks who are not proud.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
83. When they hear what has been revealed to the messenger 'Muhammad', you can see their eyes overflowing with tears, as they learn about the Truth. They say: "Our Lord 'Allāh', We have believed, so record us among those who testify (to the Truth)62.
62. Muhammad, God's messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever testifies that there is no god but Allāh alone without any partners, that Muhammad is His servant and His messenger, that Jesus is the servant of Allāh and His messenger, His word which He bestowed upon Mary and a spirit from Him, and that Paradise is true and Hellfire is true, Allāh will admit him into Paradise by whatever good deeds he had done.” Jesus Christ described Himself as a servant, when He said, “The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve Allāh.” (Mark 10:45). Jesus Christ modeled complete servanthood as He lived among the children of Israel as a man and a messenger of Allāh. He obeyed Allah's will. Allah's servants were those who worshiped him and carried out his will, often in important leadership roles. Individuals such as Abraham ( Gen 26:24 ), Moses ( Exod 14:31 ; Deut 34:5 ), David ( 2 Samuel 7:5 2 Samuel 7:8 ), Isaiah (20:3), and Jesus were called Allah’s "servants" as they obediently served their Lord - Allāh -.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
84. Why should we not believe in Allāh and the Truth that has come to us, and hope that 'Allāh' our Lord will admit us into the company of the righteous63?
63. The Prophets and those who believed in their Message and followed them.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
85. Thus, Allāh rewarded them because of what they said64, with Gardens under which rivers flow to abide therein forever. This is the reward of the good-doers.
64. I.e., their admission and acceptance of the truth and commitment to God's true religion (of Islām).
Las Exégesis Árabes:
86. But those who deny 'Allāh and His messenger Muhammad' and reject Our Verses 'of the Qur’an', these are the occupants of the Hellfire.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
87. O believers, make not unlawful the good things which Allāh has made lawful for you65, and do not transgress; for Allāh does not like the transgressors.
65. These laws are ever binding and should not be taken liberty with. Nor are they to be disregarded as did earlier nations.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
88. Eat of the lawful pure (things) that Allāh has given you, and fear Allāh in Whom you believe.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
89. Allāh does not call you to account for your thoughtless oaths66, but He calls you to account for (breaking) your deliberate oaths. So its expiation is to feed ten destitute people with food, typical of that which you feed your own people, or to clothe them, or to set a slave free. Whoever cannot find this, he must fast for three days. That is the expiation of your oaths when you swear. So be careful of your oaths67. Thus does Allāh make clear to you His verses, that you may be grateful.
66. I.e., out of habit or without true intent.
67. I.e., do not swear much; do not swear while lying; honor your oaths, honor your vows. Do not misuse the Name of Allāh your Lord, as Allāh will not leave anyone unpunished who misuses His Name.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
90. O believers, wine68, gambling, the stone altars and (divining by) arrows (for seeking luck or decision) are only an abomination, Satan’s work; so shun them, that you may succeed and prosper.
68. The Prophet Muhammad said: God has cursed wine, its drinker, its server, its seller, its buyer, its presser, the one for whom it is pressed, the one who serve it, and the one to whom it is served.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
91. Satan wants to induce hostility and hatred among you through wine and gambling, and to keep you away from the Remembrance of God and from the prayer. Will you then desist?
Las Exégesis Árabes:
92. Obey Allāh and obey the Messenger 'Muhammad' and be cautious (of the harmful things). If you turn away (from the religion of Islam), then know that the duty of our messenger 'Muhammad' is only to convey God's Message clearly.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
93. There is no blame upon those who believe and do righteous deeds for what they have consumed before 'its prohibition', as long as they (now) maintain piety, have faith and do good deeds, then guard themselves against evil and believe, then maintain piety and do good. For Allāh loves the good-doers.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
94. O believers, Allāh will try you (while you are on pilgrimage) of some game within the reach of your hands and spears, that Allāh may make evident who fears Him unseen69. Whoever transgresses after this, for him is a painful torment.
69. Restraining one’s self from sinning while hidden from the eyes of others and that the sin being so attractive and tempting is a great test of Faith.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
95. O believers, do not kill game while you are on (major or lesser) Pilgrimage (Hajj or ‘Umrah'). For whoever among you kills it intentionally, the compensation (of it) is the like of what he killed from the cattle as two just people from among you shall judge, as an offering 'to Allāh' to be brought to the Ka’bah 'in Makkah' or else he may atone for his sin by the feeding of destitute persons or by the equivalent thereof in fasting, that he may taste the consequence of his deed. Allāh has pardoned what has past. Whoever returns, Allāh will take retribution from him - for Allāh is All-Mighty, All-Capable of Retribution.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
96. Lawful to you is the game of the sea and sea food, a provision for you and other wayfarers. The game of the land is prohibited to you as long as you are on pilgrimage and state of sanctity. Fear Allāh to Whom you shall all be gathered.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
97. Allāh has made the Ka'ba 'in Makkah', the sacred house, the sacred months, the offerings, and the sacrificial animals with garlands for the welfare of the people. This is that you may know that Allāh knows all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth, and that Allāh is the Knower of all things.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
98. Know that Allāh is Severe in punishment, and that Allāh is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
99. Nothing is (incumbent) on the messenger 'Muhammad' but to deliver 'the Message' clearly. Allāh knows what you reveal or conceal.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
100. Say: "The filthy70 and the pure71 are not equal, though the abundance of filthy may impress you." So fear Allāh72 and keep to His Commandments, O people of understanding, that you may succeed.
70. All that is bad as regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons, and foods.
71. All that is good as regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons, and foods.
72. Fear Allâh: i.e. abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which He has forbidden and love Allâh much by performing all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
101. O believers, do not ask about things which if explained to you may displease you73. If you ask about such things when the Qur’an is being revealed, they will be explained to you. Allāh pardons it (what has past), for Allāh is All-Forgiving, Most Forebearing.
73. I.e., especially contrived questions, if responded to will widen the circle of divine ordinances, which might cause difficulty for the believers to act on them.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
102. A people, before you indeed asked such questions, then they became thereby deniers74.
74. By their rejection to carry out what they were commanded.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
103. Allāh has not appointed (such innovations as) Bahirah or Sa'ibah or Wasilah or Ham75. Those who deny (the Truth) invent a lie against Allāh, and most of them do not understand.
75. Categories of particular animals which were dedicated to the idols and set free to pasture, liberated from the service of man.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
104. When it is said to them: "Come to what Allāh has revealed (of the Qur’an) and to the Messenger (Muhammad)," they say: "That tradition on which we found our fathers is enough for us." Even though their fathers knew nothing, nor were they guided.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
105. O believers, guard your own selves (against evil). Those who go astray can do you no harm if you (yourselves) are on the right guidance76. To Allāh is your (final) return all of you together, then He will inform you of what you used to do.
76. After you call them to guidance, their rejection will not harm you.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
106. O believers, when death approaches any one of you, let two just men from your own people (Muslims) or any two other men (non-Muslims) witness at the time of making the will if you are traveling in the land and the calamity of death befalls you. If you have doubts about their testimony77, stand them up78 and let them take an oath after the (Asr i.e., afternoon) prayer; each one of them, (saying): 'I swear by Allāh that my testimony is true.' I do not seek by it any price (worldly gain), even though he be a near relative, I will not hide the testimony ordained by Allāh, for then I would be a deliberate sinner.
77. They are made to take such an oath because the judge has justifiable doubts about their truthfulness not because they are non-Muslim.
78. The two non-Muslim witnesses. When doubted, it has to be made absolutely sure that their testimony is trustworthy and that if challenged, even if by Muslims, the challengers will undergo equally scrupulous measures.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
107. Then, if their honesty is challenged and found guilty, let two others stand in their place, nearest in kin from among those who claim a lawful right. Let them swear by Allāh: "Our testimony is truer than their testimony, and we have not transgressed (beyond the Truth), for then we would certainly be unjust."
Las Exégesis Árabes:
108. This is more proper in order that they79 will give testimony truly or fear that their oaths will be refuted by the oaths of others afterwards. Fear Allāh and listen (obediently); for Allāh does not guide the rebellious people.
79. The two original witnesses.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
109. Be warned of the Day when Allāh will gather the messengers, then say: What response were you given 'by your nations'? They will say: "We have no knowledge, You are the Great Knower of the unseen."
Las Exégesis Árabes:
110. (The Day) when Allāh will say: "Jesus, son of Mary80, recall My favors upon you and on your mother, when I supported you with the holy spirit (Gabriel), you spoke to the people in the cradle and when you grew up. I taught you writing, wisdom, the Torah and the Evangel. (Recall) when you designed out of clay a thing like the form of a bird by My Permission, then you breathed into it and it became a bird by My Permission. You healed the blind and the leprous by My Permission, and brought forth the dead by My Permission. I withheld the children of Israel from (killing or crucifying) you, when you came to them with clear Proofs, but those who denied among them said: "This is nothing but clear magic."
80. Jesus of all the other Messengers of God is singled out here and is minutely ‘questioned’ because the most deserving of admonishment are those who claim to be his followers. Other nations may have denied their Messengers but these made the single and most false claim about God Almighty Himself, whereby He has a mother, wife and a child, and around which they built their whole religion. The favours detailed here show in reality that Jesus is no more than a mere human Messenger of God.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
111. (Recall) when I inspired to the disciples, saying, "Believe in Me and My messenger (Jesus);" they said: "We believe and bear witness that we are Muslims (who submit to the Will of God).
Las Exégesis Árabes:
112. When the disciples said: "Jesus son of Mary, can 'Allāh' your Lord send down to us a table full of food from the heaven?" 'Jesus' said: "Fear Allāh, if you are true believers."
Las Exégesis Árabes:
113. They said: "We just want to eat from it, and to satisfy our hearts (to be stronger in faith), and to know that you have indeed spoken the Truth to us, and that we may be its witnesses."
Las Exégesis Árabes:
114. Jesus, the son of Mary said: "O Allāh, our Lord, send down to us a table full of food from the heaven, that it may be a feast for us - the first and the last of us, and a Sign from You. Give us our needs; for You are the Best of providers.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
115. Allāh said: "I will send it down to you, but whoever denies afterwards from among you, I will chastise him with a Chastisement wherewith I have not chastised anyone among the nations."
Las Exégesis Árabes:
116. When Allāh will say: "Jesus son of Mary81, did you say to the people: '"Take me and my mother (Mary) for two gods besides Allāh?" (Jesus) will say: 'Glory (and Honor) be to You alone 'O Allāh', never could I say what I had no right to (say); if I had said it, You would indeed have known it; You know what is in myself, but I do not know what is in Yourself. You are the Great Knower of the unseen.'
81. This is further admonishment for those who claim to be followers of Jesus but who distorted his teachings. Although him being the direct addressee, Allāh wants him to stand witness against them as will do every Messenger against his nation:
Las Exégesis Árabes:
117. Never did I say to them anything except what You did command me to say: "Worship Allāh alone, my Lord and your Lord, 'and my God and your God' and I was a witness of them so long as I was among them, but when you took me up82, You were the Watcher over them, and You are over all things, Witness.

Las Exégesis Árabes:
119. Allāh will say: "This is the Day when the truthful ones83 will benefit from their truthfulness84." They shall have Gardens under which rivers flow to abide therein forever. Allāh is well Pleased with them, and they are well pleased with Him. This is the great achievement.
