Aaya: 111

۞ يَوۡمَ تَأۡتِي كُلُّ نَفۡسٖ تُجَٰدِلُ عَن نَّفۡسِهَا وَتُوَفَّىٰ كُلُّ نَفۡسٖ مَّا عَمِلَتۡ وَهُمۡ لَا يُظۡلَمُونَ

111. Remember the Day when every soul will come, pleading for itself, and every soul will be paid in full what it has done, and they will not be dealt with unjustly.

Aaya: 112

وَضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلٗا قَرۡيَةٗ كَانَتۡ ءَامِنَةٗ مُّطۡمَئِنَّةٗ يَأۡتِيهَا رِزۡقُهَا رَغَدٗا مِّن كُلِّ مَكَانٖ فَكَفَرَتۡ بِأَنۡعُمِ ٱللَّهِ فَأَذَٰقَهَا ٱللَّهُ لِبَاسَ ٱلۡجُوعِ وَٱلۡخَوۡفِ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَصۡنَعُونَ

112. Allāh sets forth an example: Consider a town safe and secure to which its provision comes in abundance from every place; but it became ungrateful for Allah’s favors, so Allāh made it to taste the utmost degree of hunger and fear because of what they used to do 'of sins'38.

38. This is a direct warning to the people - they are being warned against Divine Retribution in this worldly life as much as they have just been warned against the one in the Hereafter.

Aaya: 113

وَلَقَدۡ جَآءَهُمۡ رَسُولٞ مِّنۡهُمۡ فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُ وَهُمۡ ظَٰلِمُونَ

113. Indeed, there had came to them a Messenger 'Muhammad' from among them, but they denied him, so the torment seized them39 while they were unjust.

39. By hunger and fear.

Aaya: 114

فَكُلُواْ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ حَلَٰلٗا طَيِّبٗا وَٱشۡكُرُواْ نِعۡمَتَ ٱللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمۡ إِيَّاهُ تَعۡبُدُونَ

114. So eat of what Allāh has given you of the lawful and good 'things', and give thanks for Allah’s grace if only it is Him that you worship.

Aaya: 115

إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلۡمَيۡتَةَ وَٱلدَّمَ وَلَحۡمَ ٱلۡخِنزِيرِ وَمَآ أُهِلَّ لِغَيۡرِ ٱللَّهِ بِهِۦۖ فَمَنِ ٱضۡطُرَّ غَيۡرَ بَاغٖ وَلَا عَادٖ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ

115. He has only forbidden you carrion, blood40, pork and and what is consecrated in the name of any other than Allāh. But whoever is driven 'to consume such meats' by necessity, not desiring nor exceeding the limits, then Allāh is certainly All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

40. I.e., flowing blood, not what remains in blood vessels after the slaughter.

Aaya: 116

وَلَا تَقُولُواْ لِمَا تَصِفُ أَلۡسِنَتُكُمُ ٱلۡكَذِبَ هَٰذَا حَلَٰلٞ وَهَٰذَا حَرَامٞ لِّتَفۡتَرُواْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡكَذِبَۚ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَفۡتَرُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡكَذِبَ لَا يُفۡلِحُونَ

116. Do not say what your tongues describe falsely "saying': "This is lawful and this is unlawful, in order to invent a lie against Allāh." Those who forge lies against Allāh will not succeed and prosper.

Aaya: 117

مَتَٰعٞ قَلِيلٞ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٞ

117. A brief enjoyment and then a painful torment will be theirs.

Aaya: 118

وَعَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ هَادُواْ حَرَّمۡنَا مَا قَصَصۡنَا عَلَيۡكَ مِن قَبۡلُۖ وَمَا ظَلَمۡنَٰهُمۡ وَلَٰكِن كَانُوٓاْ أَنفُسَهُمۡ يَظۡلِمُونَ

118. As for those of Jewish faith, We prohibited that which We have already related to you41. We did them no injustice, but they were unjust to themselves.
