2. It is He Who has sent among the unlettered (Arabs) a Messenger (the Prophet Muhammad) from among themselves1, reciting to them His revelations and purifying them, and teaching them the Book 'Qur’an' and the Wisdom (Sunnah), although they were before in manifest error.
1 Moses, speaking to the Israelites, said, “Allāh your Lord will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brethren (the descendants of Ishmael i.e., Prophet Muhammad) and He will put His words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that He shall command him." . . . You must listen to him” (Deuteronomy 18:15). Many scholars state that this ultimate prophet is Muhammad. He alone came to tell us the loving and wise instructions of God. (Deuteronomy 18:18). Muhammad is the fulfillment of the promise of Deuteronomy 18:15. Although Muhammad is like Moses in many ways, He is also greater than Moses. Muhammad is the prophet like Moses not Jesus. Moses had a father and a mother. Muhummed also had a father and a mother. Moses and Muhummed were born in the normal, natural course, i.e. the physical association of man and woman; but Jesus was created by a special miracle. Moses and Muhummed married and begat children, but Jesus remained a bachelor all his life. Moses and Muhummed were accepted as prophets by their people in their very lifetime. No doubt the Jews gave endless trouble to Moses and they murmured in the wilderness, but as a nation, they acknowledged that Moses was a Messenger of God sent to them. The Arabs too made Muhummed's life difficult. He suffered very badly at their hands. After 13 years of preaching in Mecca, he had to emigrate from the city of his birth to Madinah. But before his demise, the Arab nation as a whole accepted him as the Messenger of Allāh. But according to the Bibles: 'He (Jesus) came unto his own people, but his own people received him not.' (John 1:11). And even today, ofter two thousand years, his people - the Jews -, as a whole, have rejeted him.
5. The example of those who were entrusted with the Torah, then did not observe it, is like that of a donkey carrying volumes of books on its back (but understands nothing from them). How evil is the example of the people who reject the revelations of Allāh. For Allāh does not guide the unjust people.
6. Say: "O you who are Jews, if you claim that you are Allāh’s favourite people with the exclusion of all other people, then long for death if you are truthful."
8. Say: "The death from which you flee, will certainly meet you, then you will be returned to (Allāh) the Knower of the unseen and the seen, and He will inform you of that which you used to do."
9. O believers, when the call is proclaimed to prayer on Friday (the day of assembly)3, then hasten to the Remembrance of Allāh and leave off all business. This is better for you - if only you knew it.
3. The believers are exhorted not to neglect meeting together in the mosques for the congregational prayer and the Qur'an study and Sunnah, but to encourage one another to embrace the spirit of congregation that they are truly part of the mosque, God’s house, to enter into His mercy confidently in prayer, to enter into God’s ’s affection in worship and Qur’an study and Sunnah, and to maintain that confidence in living out their lives for Allāh.
10. When the prayer ends, disperse through the land and seek of God’s bounty (by lawful working and earning), and remember Allāh much - that you may prosper4.
4. Throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of sinful life and let Allāh renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to worship Allāh alone — being truly righteous. Stop lying, resist anger, stop cursing and quit stealing and begging, instead, use your hands for good hard work, and then give generously to others in need. When you are called to prayer stop any activities you may be busy with, and attend the congregational prayer.
11. But when they saw a merchandise or a amusement, they rushed to it, and left you standing. Say (Muhammad): "What is with Allāh is better than amusement and than a merchandise. For Allāh is the Best of Providers."
