42
كَذَٰلِكَ يُوحِيٓ إِلَيۡكَ وَإِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِكَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ
3. Thus has He revealed to you (O Muhammad), and to those (Prophets) before you - Allāh, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

لَهُۥ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَلِيُّ ٱلۡعَظِيمُ
4. To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth, and He is the Most High, the Most Great.

تَكَادُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ يَتَفَطَّرۡنَ مِن فَوۡقِهِنَّۚ وَٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ يُسَبِّحُونَ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّهِمۡ وَيَسۡتَغۡفِرُونَ لِمَن فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ أَلَآ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
5. The heavens are almost torn apart [2] above them. And the angels also glorify their Lord 'Allāh' with praise and they ask forgiveness for those on earth. Unquestionably, indeed Allāh is the All-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.
[2]. I.e., from the Majesty and Grandeur of Allāh and in Awe and Reverence of Him.

42
وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّخَذُواْ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ أَوۡلِيَآءَ ٱللَّهُ حَفِيظٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَمَآ أَنتَ عَلَيۡهِم بِوَكِيلٖ
6. As for those who take guardians besides Him [3], Allāh is (yet) Preserver over them [4], and you are not the disposer of their affairs.
[3]. I.e., they take false deities other than Allâh as lords, saviors, and they worship them.
[4]. I.e., sees their deeds and will recompense them.

42
وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَيۡكَ قُرۡءَانًا عَرَبِيّٗا لِّتُنذِرَ أُمَّ ٱلۡقُرَىٰ وَمَنۡ حَوۡلَهَا وَتُنذِرَ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡجَمۡعِ لَا رَيۡبَ فِيهِۚ فَرِيقٞ فِي ٱلۡجَنَّةِ وَفَرِيقٞ فِي ٱلسَّعِيرِ
7. And thus have We revealed to you a (perfect) Qur’an in Arabic, that you (Muhammad) may warn the mother of villages 'Makkah' and 'all' those around it (all of mankind), and that you may give warning of the Day of Gathering wherein there is no doubt. A party will be in Paradise, and a party in the blazing flame.

42
وَلَوۡ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَجَعَلَهُمۡ أُمَّةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ وَلَٰكِن يُدۡخِلُ مَن يَشَآءُ فِي رَحۡمَتِهِۦۚ وَٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ مَا لَهُم مِّن وَلِيّٖ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ
8. Had Allāh willed, He could have made them a single community (of believers), but He admits whom He wills into His Mercy. And the unjust [5] there is no for them any protector or helper.
(5]. Those who practice idolatry, associate others with Allāh in worship, or commit other deadly sins such as murder, adultery, theft, restoring to deception and falsehood and die as such.

42
أَمِ ٱتَّخَذُواْ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ أَوۡلِيَآءَۖ فَٱللَّهُ هُوَ ٱلۡوَلِيُّ وَهُوَ يُحۡيِ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٞ
9. Or have they taken guardians besides Him? Then Allāh is the (real) Guardian, and He gives life to the dead, and He is Able to do all things.

42
وَمَا ٱخۡتَلَفۡتُمۡ فِيهِ مِن شَيۡءٖ فَحُكۡمُهُۥٓ إِلَى ٱللَّهِۚ ذَٰلِكُمُ ٱللَّهُ رَبِّي عَلَيۡهِ تَوَكَّلۡتُ وَإِلَيۡهِ أُنِيبُ
10. Whatever thing you disagree, the judgment thereof is with Allāh. Such is Allāh, my Lord, on Him (alone) do I rely and to Him do I turn (in repentance).
