يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ كُتِبَ عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلصِّيَامُ كَمَا كُتِبَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَتَّقُونَ

183. O believers, fasting has been prescribed for you [60], as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may fear Allāh and (shun evil) [61]. info

[60]. Muhammad, God's Messenger ﷺ said, "Whoever observes fasts during the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping to attain Allah's rewards, then all his past sins will be forgiven."
[61]. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ fasted either twenty-nine or thirty days during the lunar month of Ramaḍān each year, depending on the sighting of the moon. He would also engage in night prayers, dedicating time to communion with Allāh. Similarly, through fasting and prayer, a believer draws nearer to Allāh and gains clearer insight into His guidance.”
