Ajeti: 183

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ كُتِبَ عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلصِّيَامُ كَمَا كُتِبَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَتَّقُونَ

183. O believers, fasting is ordained for you52, as it was ordained for those before you, so that you may fear Allāh and shun evil53.

52. Muhammad, God's Messenger said, "Whoever observes fasts during the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping to attain Allah's rewards, then all his past sins will be forgiven."
53. Prophet Muhammad fasted for twenty nine or thirty days of the lunar month of Ramadan every year. He used to commune with Allāh in night prayers. Likewise, if you pray and fast, you can feel closer to Allāh and better understand the things He wants you to do.
