55 : 36

إِنَّ أَصۡحَٰبَ ٱلۡجَنَّةِ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ فِي شُغُلٖ فَٰكِهُونَ

55. Indeed, the occupants of Paradise this Day will be amused in (cheerful) occupation enjoying themselves.

56 : 36

هُمۡ وَأَزۡوَٰجُهُمۡ فِي ظِلَٰلٍ عَلَى ٱلۡأَرَآئِكِ مُتَّكِـُٔونَ

56. They and their spouses will be in (cool) shades on the couches reclining.

57 : 36

لَهُمۡ فِيهَا فَٰكِهَةٞ وَلَهُم مَّا يَدَّعُونَ

57. They will have fruits therein, and they will have whatever they call for.

58 : 36

سَلَٰمٞ قَوۡلٗا مِّن رَّبّٖ رَّحِيمٖ

58. "Peace!" Such is a Word from a Merciful Lord (Allāh) ^[12].

[12]. When, Muhammad, the Messenger of God ﷺ finished his prayer, he would not sit long enough but to say, “O Allāh, You are peace and from You is peace. Blessed are You, the Majestic and Noble.”

59 : 36

وَٱمۡتَٰزُواْ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ أَيُّهَا ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ

59. "But get yourselves apart (from the believers) this Day, O guilty ones."

60 : 36

۞ أَلَمۡ أَعۡهَدۡ إِلَيۡكُمۡ يَٰبَنِيٓ ءَادَمَ أَن لَّا تَعۡبُدُواْ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنَۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكُمۡ عَدُوّٞ مُّبِينٞ

60. Did I not command you, O children of Adam, that you should not worship Satan? He is surely an open enemy to you,

61 : 36

وَأَنِ ٱعۡبُدُونِيۚ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٞ مُّسۡتَقِيمٞ

61. And that you should worship Me (alone); this is a straight Path.

62 : 36

وَلَقَدۡ أَضَلَّ مِنكُمۡ جِبِلّٗا كَثِيرًاۖ أَفَلَمۡ تَكُونُواْ تَعۡقِلُونَ

62.Yet (Satan) ^[13] already misled many a crowd of you (O mankind). Did you not have any sense?

[13]. This shows Satan’s rebellion and fall, and tells us further that he was able to persuade many people, to join him in his rebellion. Though we should not obsess over Satan in any way, there is great advantage in knowing that in spite of what power he may yet retain, he is limited because he has no power over the servants of God - except what power we allow him to have. This knowledge of Satan also reminds us of his power to deceive; however, we are not to be ignorant of his devices because Satan is always ready, willing, and able to mislead and ensnare anyone who is unprepared and undiscerning. Satan will always be what and who he is. Let’s keep our eyes fixed on Allāh, knowing that we are victorious through Him, and by doing so, greatly minimize any possibility of becoming victims of Satan’s schemes.

63 : 36

هَٰذِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ ٱلَّتِي كُنتُمۡ تُوعَدُونَ

63. This (is) Gehinnom (Hell) that you were promised.

64 : 36

ٱصۡلَوۡهَا ٱلۡيَوۡمَ بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَكۡفُرُونَ

64. Burn in it Today for what you used to disbelieve (in the Truth).

65 : 36

ٱلۡيَوۡمَ نَخۡتِمُ عَلَىٰٓ أَفۡوَٰهِهِمۡ وَتُكَلِّمُنَآ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَتَشۡهَدُ أَرۡجُلُهُم بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَ

65. Today We shall set a seal upon their mouths, and their hands will speak to Us, and their legs will bear witness of what they used to earn (of sins).

66 : 36

وَلَوۡ نَشَآءُ لَطَمَسۡنَا عَلَىٰٓ أَعۡيُنِهِمۡ فَٱسۡتَبَقُواْ ٱلصِّرَٰطَ فَأَنَّىٰ يُبۡصِرُونَ

66. Had We willed, We would indeed have obliterated their eyes so they (these deniers) would race with each other to the path, then how could they see?

67 : 36

وَلَوۡ نَشَآءُ لَمَسَخۡنَٰهُمۡ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِهِمۡ فَمَا ٱسۡتَطَٰعُواْ مُضِيّٗا وَلَا يَرۡجِعُونَ

67. And had We willed, We could have transformed them (by paralyzing them) in their places, so they would not be able to proceed, nor could they return.

68 : 36

وَمَن نُّعَمِّرۡهُ نُنَكِّسۡهُ فِي ٱلۡخَلۡقِۚ أَفَلَا يَعۡقِلُونَ

68. And to whomever We give long life, We reverse him in the creation (to weakness after strength). Will they not then understand?

69 : 36

وَمَا عَلَّمۡنَٰهُ ٱلشِّعۡرَ وَمَا يَنۢبَغِي لَهُۥٓۚ إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكۡرٞ وَقُرۡءَانٞ مُّبِينٞ

69. We have not taught him (Muhammad) poetry, nor is it befitting for him; it is only a Reminder and a clear Qur’an (Recitation),

70 : 36

لِّيُنذِرَ مَن كَانَ حَيّٗا وَيَحِقَّ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ عَلَى ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ

70. To warn whoever is alive and justify the word against the disbelievers.
