يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ أَوۡفُواْ بِٱلۡعُقُودِۚ أُحِلَّتۡ لَكُم بَهِيمَةُ ٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمِ إِلَّا مَا يُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡكُمۡ غَيۡرَ مُحِلِّي ٱلصَّيۡدِ وَأَنتُمۡ حُرُمٌۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَحۡكُمُ مَا يُرِيدُ

1. O believers, fulfil [and be true to] your contracts [and commitments] [1]. The grazing livestock have been made lawful for you [to eat] except for what is recited to you [in this Qur’an] while hunting remains unlawful when you are in the state of ihrām [for pilgrimage]. Indeed, Allāh decrees whatever He wills. info

This includes not only the covenants one makes with Allāh but also the agreements, promises, and obligations one undertakes with fellow human beings—whether they are pledges, vows, oaths, or any solemn commitment of the heart and word. These bonds carry both a spiritual weight, as they are accountable before Allāh, and a moral responsibility, as they shape trust, integrity, and justice in human relationships.
