الٓرۚ تِلۡكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ ٱلۡمُبِينِ

1. Alif Lām Rā [1]. These are the Verses of the clear Book [2]. info

[1]. See footnote to Qur’an chapter 2: Verse1.
[2]. The Clear Book is the Qur’an — its verses are precise in language, perfect in judgment, and complete in meaning.
It is a Book whose truth is self-evident, illuminating what is ambiguous, and clarifying all that is uncertain or obscure.

إِنَّآ أَنزَلۡنَٰهُ قُرۡءَٰنًا عَرَبِيّٗا لَّعَلَّكُمۡ تَعۡقِلُونَ

2. Indeed, We have sent it down a perfect Qur'an in Arabic, so that you may understand. info

نَحۡنُ نَقُصُّ عَلَيۡكَ أَحۡسَنَ ٱلۡقَصَصِ بِمَآ أَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَيۡكَ هَٰذَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ وَإِن كُنتَ مِن قَبۡلِهِۦ لَمِنَ ٱلۡغَٰفِلِينَ

3. We relate to you, [O Muhammad], the best of stories through Our revelation of this Qur’an —though before it you were indeed among the unaware [of it]. info

إِذۡ قَالَ يُوسُفُ لِأَبِيهِ يَٰٓأَبَتِ إِنِّي رَأَيۡتُ أَحَدَ عَشَرَ كَوۡكَبٗا وَٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَ رَأَيۡتُهُمۡ لِي سَٰجِدِينَ

4. [Remember] when Joseph said to his father, “O my father, indeed I saw eleven stars, and the sun and the moon —I saw them prostrating to me.” info
