177. Righteousness is not that you turn your faces towards the East or the West (in prayer), rather true righteousness is in one who believes in Allāh, the Last Day, the angels, this Book, and the prophets, who gives wealth - despite love for it - to (the poor) relatives, orphans, the needy, the (stranded) wayfarer [57], beggars, for freeing slaves, who keeps up the prayer, pays the poor-rate, who fulfills their promise when they promise, and who is patient in poverty and ailment and during battle. Such are the ones who are true, and it is they who are the righteous. info

[57]. This also applies to the strangers and foreigners who are left without means whilst travelling, being away from home, and those aliens in a land they belong not to them and live with them.If a stranger or foreigner from other country stays in your land you must not cause him stress and anxiety. The stranger or foreigner that is resident in your land must be unto you as one born among you, and show him affection and mercy and treat him justly.
The prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
"Whoever killed an alien resident or a foreigner having a treaty and covenant with the Muslims, shall not smell the smell of Paradise though its smell is perceived from a distance of forty years." In another statement he said: "If anyone wrongs an alien resident or foreigner having covenant with the Muslims, detracts from his rights, treats him unjustly, burdens him with more work than he is able to do, or takes something from him without his consent, I will plead for him (that alien resident or foreigner) on the Day of Resurrection."

178. O believers, prescribed for you is legal retribution in cases of murder: the free for the free (man), the slave for the slave, and the female for the female. But whoever is pardoned in any way by (the) brother (of the slain or the relatives, etc) - then there should be reasonable follow up, and payment to him ( the heir) with good conduct. This is an alleviation and a Mercy from your Lord. But Whoever transgresses after that will have a painful punishment. info
