120. The Jews will not be pleased with you, nor the Christians until you follow their faith [and way of life]. Say: "Indeed, Allāh's Guidance that is the [right] Guidance." If you were to follow their desires after the knowledge that has come to you, then you would have neither any protector, nor helper from Allāh. info

121. Those to whom We have given the Scripture recite it as it ought to be recited [35] - These truly believe in it. But whoever disbelieves in it [the Qur’an], they will be the losers. info

[35]. Applying the Qur’an by action is the duty of all the believers. If we don’t apply it in our lives, the Qur’an becomes nothing more to us than a normal book. The first step toward applying God’s Word in our lives is reading it. Our goal in reading is to get to know Allāh 'God', to learn His ways, and to understand His purpose of life. Our next goal is that we keep God’s Word in our hearts by studying, memorizing, and contemplating on what we have first read. These four steps: read, study, memorize, contemplate - make it possible to successfully apply the Qur’an to our lives. If we desire for the Word of God to take root in our lives so that we produce a harvest that pleases Allāh, we must ponder, reflect, and contemplate on what we read and study in the Qur’an. The application of the Qur’an enforces and further enlightens our study, and it also serves to sharpen our discernment, helping us to better distinguish between good and evil.

124. And [remember] when Abraham was tested by his Lord with certain words [commands] [36], and he fulfilled them all. [Allāh] said: "I will make you a leader for the people." [Abraham] said: "And of my descendants?" [Allāh] said: "My Covenant does not extend to the wrongdoers." info

[36]. The “words” or commands entrusted to Abraham were a series of divine trials and duties which he fulfilled completely.
These included: leaving his family in Makkah in obedience to Allāh’s command, building the Ka‘bah with his son Ishmael, being willing to sacrifice that son, practicing circumcision, and devoting his life to guiding and preaching the truth.
The Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ said:
“Five practices are characteristic of al-Fiṭrah — the natural disposition of mankind: (1) Circumcision, (2) Shaving the pubic hair, (3) Trimming the moustache, (4) Clipping the nails, and (5) Removing the hair of the armpits.”
These acts represent the continuity of the pure way of Abraham — physical signs of cleanliness and obedience reflecting the inner purity of faith.

125. And [remember] when We made the House [the Ka’bah at Makkah] a place of refuge and a sanctuary for the people. And take [O believers] from Abraham's standing-place as a place of prayer. We enjoined Abraham and Ishmael: keep My house pure for those who perform the tawaf [circuit around it], stay there to worship and bow and prostrate [in prayer]. info

126. And [remember] when Abraham prayed saying: "My Lord, make this town [Makkah] a secure place and provide its people with fruits, such of them as believe in Allāh and the Last Day". He said: "Whoever denies [the Truth], I will grant him enjoyment for a little, then I will force him to the torment of the Fire." What a miserable destiny. info
