15 : 12

فَلَمَّا ذَهَبُواْ بِهِۦ وَأَجۡمَعُوٓاْ أَن يَجۡعَلُوهُ فِي غَيَٰبَتِ ٱلۡجُبِّۚ وَأَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَيۡهِ لَتُنَبِّئَنَّهُم بِأَمۡرِهِمۡ هَٰذَا وَهُمۡ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ

15. So when they took him away, and together agreed to place him into the depths of the well, We inspired him: “You will surely inform them of this affair of theirs, while they are unaware [of who you are.” info

16 : 12

وَجَآءُوٓ أَبَاهُمۡ عِشَآءٗ يَبۡكُونَ

16. They came to their father at nightfall, weeping. info

17 : 12

قَالُواْ يَٰٓأَبَانَآ إِنَّا ذَهَبۡنَا نَسۡتَبِقُ وَتَرَكۡنَا يُوسُفَ عِندَ مَتَٰعِنَا فَأَكَلَهُ ٱلذِّئۡبُۖ وَمَآ أَنتَ بِمُؤۡمِنٖ لَّنَا وَلَوۡ كُنَّا صَٰدِقِينَ

17. They said, “Father, we went off racing one another and left Joseph with our belongings, and a wolf ate him. But you would not believe us, even if we are truthful." info

18 : 12

وَجَآءُو عَلَىٰ قَمِيصِهِۦ بِدَمٖ كَذِبٖۚ قَالَ بَلۡ سَوَّلَتۡ لَكُمۡ أَنفُسُكُمۡ أَمۡرٗاۖ فَصَبۡرٞ جَمِيلٞۖ وَٱللَّهُ ٱلۡمُسۡتَعَانُ عَلَىٰ مَا تَصِفُونَ

18. They brought his shirt, stained with false blood [4]. [Jacob] said: "No, your souls has enticed for you a matter. So [for me] patience is most fitting. And Allāh alone is the One whose help is sought against what you describe." info

[4]. They had stained Joseph's shirt with the blood of a lamb but had forgotten to tear it, thereby arousing their father's suspicion.

19 : 12

وَجَآءَتۡ سَيَّارَةٞ فَأَرۡسَلُواْ وَارِدَهُمۡ فَأَدۡلَىٰ دَلۡوَهُۥۖ قَالَ يَٰبُشۡرَىٰ هَٰذَا غُلَٰمٞۚ وَأَسَرُّوهُ بِضَٰعَةٗۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمُۢ بِمَا يَعۡمَلُونَ

19. A caravan came by, and they sent their water-drawer; he let down his bucket and exclaimed, " Oh, what good news. Here is a boy!" They concealed him as merchandise, but Allāh is All-Knowing of all that they do. info

20 : 12

وَشَرَوۡهُ بِثَمَنِۭ بَخۡسٖ دَرَٰهِمَ مَعۡدُودَةٖ وَكَانُواْ فِيهِ مِنَ ٱلزَّٰهِدِينَ

20. They sold him for scanty price, a few pieces of silver, and they showed no interest in him [5]. info

[5]. Unaware of his true worth and value.

21 : 12

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِي ٱشۡتَرَىٰهُ مِن مِّصۡرَ لِٱمۡرَأَتِهِۦٓ أَكۡرِمِي مَثۡوَىٰهُ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَنفَعَنَآ أَوۡ نَتَّخِذَهُۥ وَلَدٗاۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ مَكَّنَّا لِيُوسُفَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلِنُعَلِّمَهُۥ مِن تَأۡوِيلِ ٱلۡأَحَادِيثِۚ وَٱللَّهُ غَالِبٌ عَلَىٰٓ أَمۡرِهِۦ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ

21. The man from Egypt [6] who bought him said to his wife, "Make honorable his residence, perhaps he may be useful to us, or we may adopt him as a son." Thus We established Joseph in the land, so that We might teach him the interpretation of discourses [events and dreams]. Allāh is predominant over His affair, but most people do not know.” info

22 : 12

وَلَمَّا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُۥٓ ءَاتَيۡنَٰهُ حُكۡمٗا وَعِلۡمٗاۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ

22. When he reached his maturity, We granted him [sound] judgment and knowledge. And thus do We reward the doers of good. info
