وَٱلسَّارِقُ وَٱلسَّارِقَةُ فَٱقۡطَعُوٓاْ أَيۡدِيَهُمَا جَزَآءَۢ بِمَا كَسَبَا نَكَٰلٗا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٞ
38. As for the thief, male or female, cut off their hands as a recompense for that which they have committed [39], as a deterrent punishment from Allāh. And Allāh is All-Mighty, All-Wise.
[39]. Theft proven either by confession or by the testimony of two reliable eye witnesses, and it is not an opportunistic theft but rather a deliberate break in to property.
