የይዘት ትርጉም ምዕራፍ ሱረቱ አን ናዚዓት - እንግሊዝኛ ትርጉም - በያዕቆብ - የቅዱስ ቁርዓን ማህደር

An-Nāzi‘āt

አንቀጽ: 1

وَٱلنَّٰزِعَٰتِ غَرۡقٗا

1. By the (angels) who pull out (the souls of the unbelievers upon death) harshly,

አንቀጽ: 2

وَٱلنَّٰشِطَٰتِ نَشۡطٗا

2. And by the (angels) who gently draw out the souls (of the believers),

አንቀጽ: 3

وَٱلسَّٰبِحَٰتِ سَبۡحٗا

3. And by the (stars and planets) that float around in space swiftly,

አንቀጽ: 4

فَٱلسَّٰبِقَٰتِ سَبۡقٗا

4. And by the (angels) who race each other in a race¹,

1. To execute Allah's Commands.

አንቀጽ: 5

فَٱلۡمُدَبِّرَٰتِ أَمۡرٗا

5. And by the (angels) who arrange each and every matter, (you will be resurrected).

አንቀጽ: 6

يَوۡمَ تَرۡجُفُ ٱلرَّاجِفَةُ

6. On the Day when the quaking blast 'of the Trumpet', will shake (the world),

አንቀጽ: 7

تَتۡبَعُهَا ٱلرَّادِفَةُ

7. And will be followed by the second blast (Blowing of the Trumpet for Resurrection).

አንቀጽ: 8

قُلُوبٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ وَاجِفَةٌ

8. (The denier's) hearts on that Day will tremble,

አንቀጽ: 9

أَبۡصَٰرُهَا خَٰشِعَةٞ

9. Their eyes downcast 'with fear'.

አንቀጽ: 10

يَقُولُونَ أَءِنَّا لَمَرۡدُودُونَ فِي ٱلۡحَافِرَةِ

10. (But now) they say 'mockingly': "Shall we indeed be returned (after death) to (our) former state 'of life'?

አንቀጽ: 11

أَءِذَا كُنَّا عِظَٰمٗا نَّخِرَةٗ

11. Even after we are decayed bones?"

አንቀጽ: 12

قَالُواْ تِلۡكَ إِذٗا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٞ

12. They say: "That then would be a return with a 'total' loss."

አንቀጽ: 13

فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ زَجۡرَةٞ وَٰحِدَةٞ

13. But it (the second Blowing of the Trumpet) will be only a single blast,

አንቀጽ: 14

فَإِذَا هُم بِٱلسَّاهِرَةِ

14. and at once they will be (upon the surface of the earth) wakeful (alive).

አንቀጽ: 15

هَلۡ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰٓ

15. (Oh Muhammad) has there come to you the story of Moses?

አንቀጽ: 16

إِذۡ نَادَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ بِٱلۡوَادِ ٱلۡمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى

16. When his Lord 'Allāh' called to him in the pure valley of Tuwa,

አንቀጽ: 17

ٱذۡهَبۡ إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ

17. (Saying): "Go to Pharaoh, for he has transgressed all bounds."

አንቀጽ: 18

فَقُلۡ هَل لَّكَ إِلَىٰٓ أَن تَزَكَّىٰ

18. And say: "Are you willing to purify yourself from (idolatry and sins)?

አንቀጽ: 19

وَأَهۡدِيَكَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخۡشَىٰ

19. And I will guide you to 'Allāh' your Lord so that you will be in awe 'of Him'."

አንቀጽ: 20

فَأَرَىٰهُ ٱلۡأٓيَةَ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰ

20. So he (Moses) showed him the great Sign¹.

1. I.e., his staff becoming a manifest snake.

አንቀጽ: 21

فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ

21. But Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed.

አንቀጽ: 22

ثُمَّ أَدۡبَرَ يَسۡعَىٰ

22. Then he went back hastily.

አንቀጽ: 23

فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰ

23. And gathered (his people) and called out,

አንቀጽ: 24

فَقَالَ أَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمُ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰ

24. Saying: "I am your lord, the most high."

አንቀጽ: 25

فَأَخَذَهُ ٱللَّهُ نَكَالَ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ وَٱلۡأُولَىٰٓ

25. So Allāh seized him (in exemplary Punishment) for the last and the first².

2. Transgression i.e., for Pharaoh's setting himself as a deity and for his previous oppression of the people and denial of Moses's Message.

አንቀጽ: 26

إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبۡرَةٗ لِّمَن يَخۡشَىٰٓ

26. There is certainly a lesson in this for whosoever stands in awe 'of Allāh'!

አንቀጽ: 27

ءَأَنتُمۡ أَشَدُّ خَلۡقًا أَمِ ٱلسَّمَآءُۚ بَنَىٰهَا

27. Are you harder to create, or the heaven that Allāh constructed.

አንቀጽ: 28

رَفَعَ سَمۡكَهَا فَسَوَّىٰهَا

28. He raised its ceiling high, and proportioned it,

አንቀጽ: 29

وَأَغۡطَشَ لَيۡلَهَا وَأَخۡرَجَ ضُحَىٰهَا

29. He darkened its night and brought out its daylight.

አንቀጽ: 30

وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَىٰهَآ

30. After that, He spread out the earth.

አንቀጽ: 31

أَخۡرَجَ مِنۡهَا مَآءَهَا وَمَرۡعَىٰهَا

31. He brought forth from it its water and its pasture.

አንቀጽ: 32

وَٱلۡجِبَالَ أَرۡسَىٰهَا

32. And the mountains, He set firm,

አንቀጽ: 33

مَتَٰعٗا لَّكُمۡ وَلِأَنۡعَٰمِكُمۡ

33. A provision for you and for your cattle.

አንቀጽ: 34

فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلطَّآمَّةُ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰ

34. But when the great Overwhelming Calamity comes to pass -

አንቀጽ: 35

يَوۡمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مَا سَعَىٰ

35. On that Day everyone will remember 'all' what he strove for (good or bad),

አንቀጽ: 36

وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلۡجَحِيمُ لِمَن يَرَىٰ

36. And the Hellfire will be displayed 'for all' those who would see it,

አንቀጽ: 37

فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَىٰ

37. As for him who has transgressed,

አንቀጽ: 38

وَءَاثَرَ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا

38. And preferred the worldly life,

አንቀጽ: 39

فَإِنَّ ٱلۡجَحِيمَ هِيَ ٱلۡمَأۡوَىٰ

39. Hell - will be his Home.

አንቀጽ: 40

وَأَمَّا مَنۡ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ وَنَهَى ٱلنَّفۡسَ عَنِ ٱلۡهَوَىٰ

40. But as for him who is in awe (being ever conscious of the) standing in the Presence of His Lord (Allāh, for reckoning), and restrains his soul from lowly desires,

አንቀጽ: 41

فَإِنَّ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ هِيَ ٱلۡمَأۡوَىٰ

41. Paradise - will be his Home.

አንቀጽ: 42

يَسۡـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرۡسَىٰهَا

42. They ask you 'O Muhammad', about the the Hour (of Doom), when will it be?

አንቀጽ: 43

فِيمَ أَنتَ مِن ذِكۡرَىٰهَآ

43. You have no knowledge to say anything about it (though you are one of its Signs).

አንቀጽ: 44

إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنتَهَىٰهَآ

44. To 'Allāh' your Lord (alone), is its ultimate Knowledge.

አንቀጽ: 45

إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُنذِرُ مَن يَخۡشَىٰهَا

45. You are only a warner to him who is in awe of it.

አንቀጽ: 46

كَأَنَّهُمۡ يَوۡمَ يَرَوۡنَهَا لَمۡ يَلۡبَثُوٓاْ إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوۡ ضُحَىٰهَا

46. On the Day when they see it, it will seem to them as though they had not stayed (in this world) except for an evening or a morning thereof.
