Ajet: 27

۞ وَٱتۡلُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ نَبَأَ ٱبۡنَيۡ ءَادَمَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ إِذۡ قَرَّبَا قُرۡبَانٗا فَتُقُبِّلَ مِنۡ أَحَدِهِمَا وَلَمۡ يُتَقَبَّلۡ مِنَ ٱلۡأٓخَرِ قَالَ لَأَقۡتُلَنَّكَۖ قَالَ إِنَّمَا يَتَقَبَّلُ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ

27. Recite to them the tale of the two sons of Adam (Cain and Abel) in truth, when both offered an offering, but it was accepted from one of them31, and it was not accepted from the other32. He (Cain, out of his jealousy and envy) said (to his brother): "I will certainly kill you." (Abel) replied: "Allāh only accepts from the righteous."

31. I.e., Abel, as he offered the best from his flocks of sheep.
32. I.e., Cain, as he offered the worst of his harvest.
