Al-Muddaththir

Vers: 1

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلۡمُدَّثِّرُ
O tu, avvolto in un mantello!

قُمۡ فَأَنذِرۡ
Alzati e avverti,

وَرَبَّكَ فَكَبِّرۡ
poi loda il tuo Dio

وَثِيَابَكَ فَطَهِّرۡ

وَٱلرُّجۡزَ فَٱهۡجُرۡ

وَلَا تَمۡنُن تَسۡتَكۡثِرُ
e non donare in attesa di ricompensa

وَلِرَبِّكَ فَٱصۡبِرۡ
e pazienta per amore del tuo Dio.

فَإِذَا نُقِرَ فِي ٱلنَّاقُورِ
Quando suonerà il Corno,

فَذَٰلِكَ يَوۡمَئِذٖ يَوۡمٌ عَسِيرٌ
quello sarà un duro giorno,

عَلَى ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ غَيۡرُ يَسِيرٖ
non facile per i miscredenti.

ذَرۡنِي وَمَنۡ خَلَقۡتُ وَحِيدٗا
Lasciami con colui che ho creato solo,

وَجَعَلۡتُ لَهُۥ مَالٗا مَّمۡدُودٗا
e ho dotato di beni inesauribili

وَبَنِينَ شُهُودٗا
e figli testimoni

وَمَهَّدتُّ لَهُۥ تَمۡهِيدٗا
e al quale ho dato una posizione tra la sua gente,

ثُمَّ يَطۡمَعُ أَنۡ أَزِيدَ
poi desidera che gliela aumenti.

كَلَّآۖ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ لِأٓيَٰتِنَا عَنِيدٗا
Oh, no! In verità Lui fu ostile ai Nostri Segni!

سَأُرۡهِقُهُۥ صَعُودًا
Lo sfinirò con una punizione insopportabile!

إِنَّهُۥ فَكَّرَ وَقَدَّرَ
In verità pensò e giudicò:

فَقُتِلَ كَيۡفَ قَدَّرَ
muoia, come ha giudicato!

ثُمَّ قُتِلَ كَيۡفَ قَدَّرَ
Muoia ancora, per come ha giudicato!

ثُمَّ نَظَرَ
Poi vide.

ثُمَّ عَبَسَ وَبَسَرَ
Poi si accigliò e impallidì.

ثُمَّ أَدۡبَرَ وَٱسۡتَكۡبَرَ
Poi si tirò indietro e s’insuperbì

فَقَالَ إِنۡ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحۡرٞ يُؤۡثَرُ
e disse: «Ciò non è altro che magia tramandata,

إِنۡ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا قَوۡلُ ٱلۡبَشَرِ
non è altro che parola di uomo.»

سَأُصۡلِيهِ سَقَرَ
Lo getterò nell’Inferno ﴾Saǭar﴿!

وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا سَقَرُ
Che ne sai dell’Inferno?

لَا تُبۡقِي وَلَا تَذَرُ
Nulla lascia, né risparmia:

لَوَّاحَةٞ لِّلۡبَشَرِ
carbonizza la pelle.

عَلَيۡهَا تِسۡعَةَ عَشَرَ
Lo sorvegliano in diciannove.

Vers: 31

وَمَا جَعَلۡنَآ أَصۡحَٰبَ ٱلنَّارِ إِلَّا مَلَٰٓئِكَةٗۖ وَمَا جَعَلۡنَا عِدَّتَهُمۡ إِلَّا فِتۡنَةٗ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لِيَسۡتَيۡقِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ وَيَزۡدَادَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِيمَٰنٗا وَلَا يَرۡتَابَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ وَلِيَقُولَ ٱلَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٞ وَٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ مَاذَآ أَرَادَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَٰذَا مَثَلٗاۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُضِلُّ ٱللَّهُ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهۡدِي مَن يَشَآءُۚ وَمَا يَعۡلَمُ جُنُودَ رَبِّكَ إِلَّا هُوَۚ وَمَا هِيَ إِلَّا ذِكۡرَىٰ لِلۡبَشَرِ
Sorvegliano il Fuoco gli angeli, e non ne fissammo il numero se non per mettere alla prova i miscredenti, perché se ne accertino quelli che hanno ricevuto il Libro e si rafforzi la fede dei credenti e non dubitino quelli che hanno ricevuto il Libro e i credenti, e affinché quelli che hanno una malattia in cuore e i miscredenti dicano: «Cosa vuole dire Allāh con questo esempio?» Così Allāh svia chi vuole e guida chi vuole, e nessuno conosce i soldati del tuo Dio se non Lui, e ciò non è altro che un avvertimento per l’umanità.

Vers: 32

كَلَّا وَٱلۡقَمَرِ
No! Per la luna,

وَٱلَّيۡلِ إِذۡ أَدۡبَرَ
e per la notte quando si ritira,

وَٱلصُّبۡحِ إِذَآ أَسۡفَرَ
e per il giorno quando si rivela,

إِنَّهَا لَإِحۡدَى ٱلۡكُبَرِ
che è in verità uno dei più grandi

نَذِيرٗا لِّلۡبَشَرِ
avvertimenti per gli uomini;

لِمَن شَآءَ مِنكُمۡ أَن يَتَقَدَّمَ أَوۡ يَتَأَخَّرَ
per chi vuole, tra voi, procedere o indietreggiare,

كُلُّ نَفۡسِۭ بِمَا كَسَبَتۡ رَهِينَةٌ
ogni anima è vincolata alle proprie azioni,

إِلَّآ أَصۡحَٰبَ ٱلۡيَمِينِ
a eccezione dei compagni della destra,

فِي جَنَّٰتٖ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
che saranno in Paradisi; essi chiederanno

عَنِ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ
ai criminali:

مَا سَلَكَكُمۡ فِي سَقَرَ
»Cosa vi portò all’Inferno?»

قَالُواْ لَمۡ نَكُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُصَلِّينَ
Diranno: «Non eravamo tra quelli che pregano,

وَلَمۡ نَكُ نُطۡعِمُ ٱلۡمِسۡكِينَ
e non nutrivamo i poveri,

وَكُنَّا نَخُوضُ مَعَ ٱلۡخَآئِضِينَ
e vagavamo tra i vagabondi

وَكُنَّا نُكَذِّبُ بِيَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ
e negavamo il Giorno del Giudizio

حَتَّىٰٓ أَتَىٰنَا ٱلۡيَقِينُ
finché ci prese la morte.»

فَمَا تَنفَعُهُمۡ شَفَٰعَةُ ٱلشَّٰفِعِينَ
L’intercessione degli intercessori sarà per loro inutile!

فَمَا لَهُمۡ عَنِ ٱلتَّذۡكِرَةِ مُعۡرِضِينَ
Perché sono sordi all’Avvertimento

كَأَنَّهُمۡ حُمُرٞ مُّسۡتَنفِرَةٞ
come asini in fuga,

فَرَّتۡ مِن قَسۡوَرَةِۭ
che fuggono da un leone!

بَلۡ يُرِيدُ كُلُّ ٱمۡرِيٕٖ مِّنۡهُمۡ أَن يُؤۡتَىٰ صُحُفٗا مُّنَشَّرَةٗ
In verità ognuno di loro vuole che gli siano date pagine aperte!

كَلَّاۖ بَل لَّا يَخَافُونَ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةَ
No. Invece loro non temono l’Aldilà!

كَلَّآ إِنَّهُۥ تَذۡكِرَةٞ
No, in verità questo è un avvertimento:

فَمَن شَآءَ ذَكَرَهُۥ
chi vuole lo ricordi.

Vers: 56

وَمَا يَذۡكُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُۚ هُوَ أَهۡلُ ٱلتَّقۡوَىٰ وَأَهۡلُ ٱلۡمَغۡفِرَةِ
Ma non ricorderanno se non quando Allāh lo vorrà: Lui è il Degno di timore e il Detentore del perdono.
