Soerat Al-Ghaasjijah (Het Overweldigende Evenement)

Ayah: 1

هَلۡ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلۡغَٰشِيَةِ
1. Is tot jullie het verhaal van de overweldiging gekomen.

Ayah: 2

وُجُوهٞ يَوۡمَئِذٍ خَٰشِعَةٌ
2. Sommige gezichten zullen op die dag vernederd worden.

عَامِلَةٞ نَّاصِبَةٞ
3. Ploeterend (in dit wereldse leven door anderen naast Allah te aanbidden) en uitgeput (in het hiernamaals met vernedering en schande).

تَصۡلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِيَةٗ
4. Zij zullen een heet laaiend vuur binnentreden.

تُسۡقَىٰ مِنۡ عَيۡنٍ ءَانِيَةٖ
5. Zij zullen te drinken krijgen van een kokende bron.

لَّيۡسَ لَهُمۡ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِن ضَرِيعٖ
6. Geen voedsel zal er voor hen zijn behalve een doornige plant.

لَّا يُسۡمِنُ وَلَا يُغۡنِي مِن جُوعٖ
7. Die hen noch zal voeden noch tegen de honger zal helpen.

وُجُوهٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ نَّاعِمَةٞ
8. (Andere) gezichten zullen op die dag verheugd zijn.

لِّسَعۡيِهَا رَاضِيَةٞ
9. Blij met hun inspanning.

فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٖ
10. In een hoge tuin (het paradijs).

لَّا تَسۡمَعُ فِيهَا لَٰغِيَةٗ
11. Waar zij geen kwade spraak noch leugens zullen horen.

فِيهَا عَيۡنٞ جَارِيَةٞ
12. Daar zal een stromende bron zijn,

فِيهَا سُرُرٞ مَّرۡفُوعَةٞ
13. Daar zullen hun bedden hoog opgerezen zijn.

وَأَكۡوَابٞ مَّوۡضُوعَةٞ
14. En bekers zullen in hun handen gegeven worden.

وَنَمَارِقُ مَصۡفُوفَةٞ
15. En kussens zullen op rijen gezet worden.

وَزَرَابِيُّ مَبۡثُوثَةٌ
16. En rijke tapijten zullen uitgespreid worden.

أَفَلَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَى ٱلۡإِبِلِ كَيۡفَ خُلِقَتۡ
17. Kijken ze niet naar de kamelen en hoe zij geschapen worden?

وَإِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ كَيۡفَ رُفِعَتۡ
18. En naar de hemel en hoe zij opgeheven is?

وَإِلَى ٱلۡجِبَالِ كَيۡفَ نُصِبَتۡ
19. En naar de bergen, hoe zij gegrondvest zijn?

وَإِلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ كَيۡفَ سُطِحَتۡ
20. En naar de aarde, hoe zij is uitgespreid?

فَذَكِّرۡ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُذَكِّرٞ
21. Vermaan hen dus, jij bent slechts iemand die mensen aan iets herinnert.

لَّسۡتَ عَلَيۡهِم بِمُصَيۡطِرٍ
22. Jij bent geen heerser over hen.

إِلَّا مَن تَوَلَّىٰ وَكَفَرَ
23. Behalve degene die zich afkeert en ongelovig is.

Ayah: 24

فَيُعَذِّبُهُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡعَذَابَ ٱلۡأَكۡبَرَ
24. Hem zal Allah bestraffen met de grootste bestraffing.

إِنَّ إِلَيۡنَآ إِيَابَهُمۡ
25. Waarlijk, tot Ons zullen zij terugkeren.

ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيۡنَا حِسَابَهُم
26. Dan waarlijk, bij Ons zal er een afrekening zijn.
