Translation of the meanings Ayah: (65) Surah: Āl-‘Imrān
يَٰٓأَهۡلَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ لِمَ تُحَآجُّونَ فِيٓ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَتِ ٱلتَّوۡرَىٰةُ وَٱلۡإِنجِيلُ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِۦٓۚ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ
(65) “People of the Book, why do you argue regarding Ibrāhīm[610], while ˹both˺ the Torah and the Evangel were only sent down ˹long˺ after him?[611] Do you have no reason?”
[610] Both the Jews and the Christians claimed Abraham as their own. (al-Ṭabarī, Ibn Kathīr)
[611] That is after Abraham’s time. All their arguments about Abraham were based on apocryphal stories and not solid, authentic accounts.
