125. We made the House (the Ka’bah at Makkah) a place of refuge and sanctuary for the people. Take Abraham's standing-place (when building the Ka'bah) as a place of prayer. We advised Abraham and Ishmael to keep My house (the Ka’bah) clean for the pilgrims, the worshippers and those who bow down (and) prostrate themselves in worship.
