Translation of the meanings Surah: Al-Jinn   Ayah:

Al-Jinn

قُلۡ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّهُ ٱسۡتَمَعَ نَفَرٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡجِنِّ فَقَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا سَمِعۡنَا قُرۡءَانًا عَجَبٗا
1. Say (Muhammad): "It has been revealed to me that some of the Jinn¹ listened (to my recitation of the Qur’an) and said: "We have heard an amazing reading,

يَهۡدِيٓ إِلَى ٱلرُّشۡدِ فَـَٔامَنَّا بِهِۦۖ وَلَن نُّشۡرِكَ بِرَبِّنَآ أَحَدٗا
2. Which guides (people) to the right conduct, so we have believed in it. We shall never associate anyone with (Allah) our Lord (in worship).

وَأَنَّهُۥ تَعَٰلَىٰ جَدُّ رَبِّنَا مَا ٱتَّخَذَ صَٰحِبَةٗ وَلَا وَلَدٗا
3. (We have believed) that Allah (God) our Exalted and Glorified Lord - has taken neither a consort, nor a son²."

وَأَنَّهُۥ كَانَ يَقُولُ سَفِيهُنَا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ شَطَطٗا
4. The foolish one among us (i.e., Satan) used to say many exaggerated and blasphemous words against Allah³.
3. By falsely attributing to Him a wife or a son or daughters or other partners and wrong attributes.

وَأَنَّا ظَنَنَّآ أَن لَّن تَقُولَ ٱلۡإِنسُ وَٱلۡجِنُّ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبٗا
5. We thought that no man or jinn could ever tell lies about Allah (God).

وَأَنَّهُۥ كَانَ رِجَالٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡإِنسِ يَعُوذُونَ بِرِجَالٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡجِنِّ فَزَادُوهُمۡ رَهَقٗا
6. And there were some (lowly) men among the common people used to seek refuge with some men from among the jinn (the demons), so they increased them in wrongdoing (denial, sin, etc.).

وَأَنَّهُمۡ ظَنُّواْ كَمَا ظَنَنتُمۡ أَن لَّن يَبۡعَثَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٗا
7. These people thought just as you (jinn) thought that Allah (God) would never send anyone (as a messenger).

وَأَنَّا لَمَسۡنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ فَوَجَدۡنَٰهَا مُلِئَتۡ حَرَسٗا شَدِيدٗا وَشُهُبٗا
8. We have sought the heaven (to eavesdrop there), but we found it filled with strong guards and burning flames.

وَأَنَّا كُنَّا نَقۡعُدُ مِنۡهَا مَقَٰعِدَ لِلسَّمۡعِۖ فَمَن يَسۡتَمِعِ ٱلۡأٓنَ يَجِدۡ لَهُۥ شِهَابٗا رَّصَدٗا
9. We used to sit therein in positions for eavesdropping, but he who (tries to) listen now would find a flame lying in wait for him.

وَأَنَّا لَا نَدۡرِيٓ أَشَرٌّ أُرِيدَ بِمَن فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَمۡ أَرَادَ بِهِمۡ رَبُّهُمۡ رَشَدٗا
10. We do not know whether by this (arrangement) Allah intends harm for those on earth, or their Lord (Allah) intends to guide them to right conduct.

وَأَنَّا مِنَّا ٱلصَّٰلِحُونَ وَمِنَّا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَۖ كُنَّا طَرَآئِقَ قِدَدٗا
11. Among us (the Jinn) are those who are righteous, and some of us are otherwise. We were following different sects.

وَأَنَّا ظَنَنَّآ أَن لَّن نُّعۡجِزَ ٱللَّهَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَن نُّعۡجِزَهُۥ هَرَبٗا
12. We have realized that we cannot cause failure to Allah on earth, nor can we escape Him by flight.

وَأَنَّا لَمَّا سَمِعۡنَا ٱلۡهُدَىٰٓ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦۖ فَمَن يُؤۡمِنۢ بِرَبِّهِۦ فَلَا يَخَافُ بَخۡسٗا وَلَا رَهَقٗا
13. When we listened the Guidance (of the Qur’an), we believed in it. Whoever believes in his Lord (Allah) will have no fear of loss (from his reward) or injustice.

وَأَنَّا مِنَّا ٱلۡمُسۡلِمُونَ وَمِنَّا ٱلۡقَٰسِطُونَۖ فَمَنۡ أَسۡلَمَ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ تَحَرَّوۡاْ رَشَدٗا
14. Among us are Muslims⁴, and of us are the deviators. And whoever has embraced Islam has followed the right conduct.
4. Who have submitted to God after listening to the Qur’an.

وَأَمَّا ٱلۡقَٰسِطُونَ فَكَانُواْ لِجَهَنَّمَ حَطَبٗا
15. But as for the deviators, they will be firewood for Gehinnom (Hell).

وَأَلَّوِ ٱسۡتَقَٰمُواْ عَلَى ٱلطَّرِيقَةِ لَأَسۡقَيۡنَٰهُم مَّآءً غَدَقٗا
16. Had they (jinn and mankind) keep firmly to the (right) Way (of Islam), We would certainly have given them abundant water (i.e., provision and prosperity),
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
لِّنَفۡتِنَهُمۡ فِيهِۚ وَمَن يُعۡرِضۡ عَن ذِكۡرِ رَبِّهِۦ يَسۡلُكۡهُ عَذَابٗا صَعَدٗا
17. As a trial for them⁵. Whoever turns away from the Reminder of God⁶, He will make him suffer increasing torment.
5. As to whether they will be grateful for Allah's provisions or not.
6. I.e., this Qur’ân, and practise not its laws and orders.

وَأَنَّ ٱلۡمَسَٰجِدَ لِلَّهِ فَلَا تَدۡعُواْ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ أَحَدٗا
18. All (legitimate) worship is due to Allah (God alone) in the places of worship (and the earth in general), so do not invoke anyone⁷ along with Allah.
7. Whether it is an angel near to Allah, like the holy spirit, Gabriel, or a prophet sent by Him like Jesus Christ, or a saint, or jinn, etc.

وَأَنَّهُۥ لَمَّا قَامَ عَبۡدُ ٱللَّهِ يَدۡعُوهُ كَادُواْ يَكُونُونَ عَلَيۡهِ لِبَدٗا
19. Yet when the servant of Allah (the Prophet Muhammad) stood up invoking his (Lord - Allah), they (the jinn) would all crowd around him (to listen to the Prophet’s Message).

قُلۡ إِنَّمَآ أَدۡعُواْ رَبِّي وَلَآ أُشۡرِكُ بِهِۦٓ أَحَدٗا
20. Say (Muhammad): "I only invoke my Lord (Allah alone), and I do not associate any partner with Him.

قُلۡ إِنِّي لَآ أَمۡلِكُ لَكُمۡ ضَرّٗا وَلَا رَشَدٗا
21. Say: "I do not possess (any power to) harm or benefit you (except by the Will of God - Allah).

قُلۡ إِنِّي لَن يُجِيرَنِي مِنَ ٱللَّهِ أَحَدٞ وَلَنۡ أَجِدَ مِن دُونِهِۦ مُلۡتَحَدًا
22. Say: "No one can protect me from Allah (if I were to disobey Him), nor can I find in other than Him a refuge."

إِلَّا بَلَٰغٗا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرِسَٰلَٰتِهِۦۚ وَمَن يَعۡصِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ فَإِنَّ لَهُۥ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًا
23. (Mine is) only a conveyance (of the Truth) from Allah and His Messages. Whoever disobeys Allah (God) and His messenger, then for him is the Fire of Gehinnom (Hell), to abide therein forever.

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا رَأَوۡاْ مَا يُوعَدُونَ فَسَيَعۡلَمُونَ مَنۡ أَضۡعَفُ نَاصِرٗا وَأَقَلُّ عَدَدٗا
24. Until when they (the deniers) see what they are threatened with, then they will know who is weaker in helpers and fewer in number.

قُلۡ إِنۡ أَدۡرِيٓ أَقَرِيبٞ مَّا تُوعَدُونَ أَمۡ يَجۡعَلُ لَهُۥ رَبِّيٓ أَمَدًا
25. Say: "I do not know whether that (Torment) with which you are threatened is near, or whether my Lord (Allah) will prolong the time of its coming.

عَٰلِمُ ٱلۡغَيۡبِ فَلَا يُظۡهِرُ عَلَىٰ غَيۡبِهِۦٓ أَحَدًا
26. (He Allah is) the Knower of the unseen, He does not disclose (His knowledge of) the unseen to anyone,
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
إِلَّا مَنِ ٱرۡتَضَىٰ مِن رَّسُولٖ فَإِنَّهُۥ يَسۡلُكُ مِنۢ بَيۡنِ يَدَيۡهِ وَمِنۡ خَلۡفِهِۦ رَصَدٗا
27. Except whom He chooses as a messenger; He causes angelic guards to march before him and after him,

لِّيَعۡلَمَ أَن قَدۡ أَبۡلَغُواْ رِسَٰلَٰتِ رَبِّهِمۡ وَأَحَاطَ بِمَا لَدَيۡهِمۡ وَأَحۡصَىٰ كُلَّ شَيۡءٍ عَدَدَۢا
28. So that He may know that the messengers have truly delivered the Messages of their Lord (Allah). He encompasses all that is with them, and He keeps a precise account of every thing.
