Translation of the meanings Surah: Al-Jinn   Ayah:

Al-Jinn

قُلۡ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّهُ ٱسۡتَمَعَ نَفَرٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡجِنِّ فَقَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا سَمِعۡنَا قُرۡءَانًا عَجَبٗا
1. Say (Muhammad): "It has been revealed to me that a batch of the Jinn¹ listened (to the Qur’an) and said (to their fellow jinn): ‘: "Surely, we have heard an amazing recital",

Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
يَهۡدِيٓ إِلَى ٱلرُّشۡدِ فَـَٔامَنَّا بِهِۦۖ وَلَن نُّشۡرِكَ بِرَبِّنَآ أَحَدٗا
2. That guides (people) to the right conduct, so we have believed in it. And never We shall associate anyone with (Allāh) our Lord 'in worship'.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَأَنَّهُۥ تَعَٰلَىٰ جَدُّ رَبِّنَا مَا ٱتَّخَذَ صَٰحِبَةٗ وَلَا وَلَدٗا
3. And that Exalted is the Grandeur of our Lord (Allāh) - He has taken neither a mate, nor a son²."
2. As the pagans claim.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَأَنَّهُۥ كَانَ يَقُولُ سَفِيهُنَا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ شَطَطٗا
4. And that our foolish one (i.e., Satan) has been saying against 'God' extravagant lies³.
3. By falsely attributing to Him a wife or a son or daughters or other partners or wrong attributes.

وَأَنَّا ظَنَنَّآ أَن لَّن تَقُولَ ٱلۡإِنسُ وَٱلۡجِنُّ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبٗا
5. And We thought that humans and jinn would never speak about Allāh a lie.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَأَنَّهُۥ كَانَ رِجَالٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡإِنسِ يَعُوذُونَ بِرِجَالٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡجِنِّ فَزَادُوهُمۡ رَهَقٗا
6. And certain men among the humans used to seek protection with some men from among the jinn (the demons), so they increased them in burden (disbelief, sin, etc.)

وَأَنَّهُمۡ ظَنُّواْ كَمَا ظَنَنتُمۡ أَن لَّن يَبۡعَثَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٗا
7. And they (humans) thought just as you (jinn) thought that Allāh would never send anyone (as a messenger to mankind or jinn).

وَأَنَّا لَمَسۡنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ فَوَجَدۡنَٰهَا مُلِئَتۡ حَرَسٗا شَدِيدٗا وَشُهُبٗا
8. And we sought to reach the heaven (in search of news), but we found it filled with strong guards and flaming meteors.

وَأَنَّا كُنَّا نَقۡعُدُ مِنۡهَا مَقَٰعِدَ لِلسَّمۡعِۖ فَمَن يَسۡتَمِعِ ٱلۡأٓنَ يَجِدۡ لَهُۥ شِهَابٗا رَّصَدٗا
9. And we used to sit therefrom in positions for (over) hearing, but he who (tries to) listen now would find a fiery meteor in wait for him.

وَأَنَّا لَا نَدۡرِيٓ أَشَرٌّ أُرِيدَ بِمَن فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَمۡ أَرَادَ بِهِمۡ رَبُّهُمۡ رَشَدٗا
10. We do not know whether evil is intended for those on earth, or their Lord intends for them right guidance.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَأَنَّا مِنَّا ٱلصَّٰلِحُونَ وَمِنَّا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَۖ كُنَّا طَرَآئِقَ قِدَدٗا
11. Among us are the righteous, and some of us are lesser than that. We have been multifarious sects.

وَأَنَّا ظَنَنَّآ أَن لَّن نُّعۡجِزَ ٱللَّهَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَن نُّعۡجِزَهُۥ هَرَبٗا
12. We have realized that we cannot cause failure to Allāh on earth, nor can we escape Him by fleeing (in any direction).

وَأَنَّا لَمَّا سَمِعۡنَا ٱلۡهُدَىٰٓ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦۖ فَمَن يُؤۡمِنۢ بِرَبِّهِۦ فَلَا يَخَافُ بَخۡسٗا وَلَا رَهَقٗا
13. When we listened the Guidance (of the Qur’an), we believed in it. Whoever believes in his Lord 'Allāh' will have no fear of loss (from his reward) or injustice.

وَأَنَّا مِنَّا ٱلۡمُسۡلِمُونَ وَمِنَّا ٱلۡقَٰسِطُونَۖ فَمَنۡ أَسۡلَمَ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ تَحَرَّوۡاْ رَشَدٗا
14. Among us are Muslims⁴, and among us are the the inequitable. Whoever has embraced Islam has followed the right conduct.
4. Who have submitted to God after listening to the Qur’an.

وَأَمَّا ٱلۡقَٰسِطُونَ فَكَانُواْ لِجَهَنَّمَ حَطَبٗا
15. But as for the inequitable, they will be firewood for the Hellfire.

وَأَلَّوِ ٱسۡتَقَٰمُواْ عَلَى ٱلطَّرِيقَةِ لَأَسۡقَيۡنَٰهُم مَّآءً غَدَقٗا
16. Had they 'jinn and mankind' keep firmly to the 'right' Way 'of Islam', We would certainly have given them abundant water (i.e., provision and prosperity),
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
لِّنَفۡتِنَهُمۡ فِيهِۚ وَمَن يُعۡرِضۡ عَن ذِكۡرِ رَبِّهِۦ يَسۡلُكۡهُ عَذَابٗا صَعَدٗا
17. So We might test them therein⁵. Whoever turns away from the Remembrance of his Lord 'Allāh'⁶, He will subject him to escalating torment.
5. As to whether they will be grateful for Allah's provisions or not.
6. I.e., this Qur’ân, and practise not its laws and orders.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَأَنَّ ٱلۡمَسَٰجِدَ لِلَّهِ فَلَا تَدۡعُواْ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ أَحَدٗا
18. And that the places of worship are 'only' for Allah, so do not invoke anyone besides Allāh7.
7. Whether it is an angel near to Allāh, like the holy spirit, Gabriel, or a prophet sent by Him like Jesus Christ, or a saint, or jinn, etc.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
وَأَنَّهُۥ لَمَّا قَامَ عَبۡدُ ٱللَّهِ يَدۡعُوهُ كَادُواْ يَكُونُونَ عَلَيۡهِ لِبَدٗا
19. Yet when the servant of Allah stood up invoking Him 'alone' in prayer, the pagans almost crowded in over him.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
قُلۡ إِنَّمَآ أَدۡعُواْ رَبِّي وَلَآ أُشۡرِكُ بِهِۦٓ أَحَدٗا
20. Say (Muhammad): "I only invoke my Lord (Allāh alone), and I do not associate anyone with Him 'in worship'.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
قُلۡ إِنِّي لَآ أَمۡلِكُ لَكُمۡ ضَرّٗا وَلَا رَشَدٗا
21. Say: "Surely, I do not possess 'any power' to cause you harm or bring you to right conduct (except by the Will of Allāh).
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
قُلۡ إِنِّي لَن يُجِيرَنِي مِنَ ٱللَّهِ أَحَدٞ وَلَنۡ أَجِدَ مِن دُونِهِۦ مُلۡتَحَدًا
22. Say: "No one can protect me from Allāh (if I were to disobey Him), nor can I find in other than Him a refuge."

إِلَّا بَلَٰغٗا مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرِسَٰلَٰتِهِۦۚ وَمَن يَعۡصِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ فَإِنَّ لَهُۥ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَآ أَبَدًا
23. (My duty is) only to convey what I receive from Allāh 'God' and His Messages. Whoever disobeys Allāh and His messenger 'Muhammad', then for him is the Fire of Gehinnom (Hell) to abide therein forever.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا رَأَوۡاْ مَا يُوعَدُونَ فَسَيَعۡلَمُونَ مَنۡ أَضۡعَفُ نَاصِرٗا وَأَقَلُّ عَدَدٗا
24. Until when they (the deniers) see what they are threatened with, then they will know who is weaker in helpers and fewer in number.
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
قُلۡ إِنۡ أَدۡرِيٓ أَقَرِيبٞ مَّا تُوعَدُونَ أَمۡ يَجۡعَلُ لَهُۥ رَبِّيٓ أَمَدًا
25. Say: "I do not know whether that (torment) you are promised is near, or whether my Lord 'Allāh' will set a long term for it (known by Him only).
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
عَٰلِمُ ٱلۡغَيۡبِ فَلَا يُظۡهِرُ عَلَىٰ غَيۡبِهِۦٓ أَحَدًا
26. (He is) the Knower of the unseen, He does not disclose His unseen to anyone,
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
إِلَّا مَنِ ٱرۡتَضَىٰ مِن رَّسُولٖ فَإِنَّهُۥ يَسۡلُكُ مِنۢ بَيۡنِ يَدَيۡهِ وَمِنۡ خَلۡفِهِۦ رَصَدٗا
27. Except whom He chooses as a messenger; He causes 'angelic' guards to march from before him and after him,
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:
لِّيَعۡلَمَ أَن قَدۡ أَبۡلَغُواْ رِسَٰلَٰتِ رَبِّهِمۡ وَأَحَاطَ بِمَا لَدَيۡهِمۡ وَأَحۡصَىٰ كُلَّ شَيۡءٍ عَدَدَۢا
28. So that He may know that they have truly delivered the Messages of (Allāh) their Lord. He has encompassed all that is with them, and He has enumerated everything in number.
