手助け章

Ayah: 1

أَرَءَيۡتَ ٱلَّذِي يُكَذِّبُ بِٱلدِّينِ
言ってみよ、（復活と）報いを嘘とする者（について）。

فَذَٰلِكَ ٱلَّذِي يَدُعُّ ٱلۡيَتِيمَ
それは孤児を（その権利から）押しやり、

وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلۡمِسۡكِينِ
貧者*たちに食べ物を施すことを勧めない者。

فَوَيۡلٞ لِّلۡمُصَلِّينَ
災いあれ、礼拝者たち（ではあっても）、

Ayah: 5

ٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ عَن صَلَاتِهِمۡ سَاهُونَ
自分たちの礼拝を、おろそかにする者[1]たち。
[1]　（義務の）礼拝時間の遵守（じゅんしゅ）、礼拝の基本的行為や条件を満たすこと、礼拝における恭順さ（雌牛章４５の訳注も参照）や、その意味の熟慮（じゅくりょ）などを「おろそかにする者」のこと（イブン・カスィール８：４９３参照）。

ٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ يُرَآءُونَ
見せびらかしで（善行を）行い、

وَيَمۡنَعُونَ ٱلۡمَاعُونَ
手助け[1]を妨げる者たちに。
[1]　この「手助け（マーウーン）」という語の具体的な解釈には、「浄財*」「財産」「斧（おの）、鍋（なべ）、火など、家で利用する物」「全ての有益な物」「貸し物」「あらゆる善事」「水と草」「水」「権利」「水と火と塩」などといった諸説がある（アル＝クルトゥビー2０：21３－21５参照）。
