Al-Qalam

1. Noon¹. By the Pen, and what they (the angels) inscribe.
1. The Qur’an is made up of such letter from the Arabic alphabet. The Arabs at the time of revelation were the unmatched masters of the Arabic language and yet when challenged were totally unable to bring anything like the Qur’an. Although these disjointed Arabic letters are referring to the inimitable nature of the Qur’an and its divine source, God knows best its meaning.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
2. You are not, [O Muhammad], by the grace of your your Lord, insane².
2. As the pagans claimed.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
3. And indeed, you (O Muhammad) will surely have a reward uninterrupted.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
4. And indeed, you (O Muhammad) are surely of a great moral character.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
5. So you will see, and they [the pagans] too will see,
Las Exégesis Árabes:
6. Which of you is afflicted 'by demon''.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
7. Indeed, your Lord knows best who has gone astray from His way, and He knows best who is 'rightly' guided.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
8. So do not obey the deniers (of the Truth).
Las Exégesis Árabes:
9. They wish that you would soften3, so they would soften too.
3. In your position about the fundamentals of Islam - the true religion of God, so that to meet in the middle, between belief and unbelief.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
10. Obey not any worthless contemptible swearer (by falsehood)4,
4. Muhammad, God's Messenger said, "There are three (types on people with whom Allah will neither speak on the Day of Resurection nor purify them (from sins) and there will be a painful chastisement for them: A person who has spare water in a desert and he refuses to give it to the traveller; a person who sells a commodity to another person after the afternoon prayer and swears by Allah that he has bought it at such and such price, and the buyer pays him accordingly though in reality it was not true; and a person who pledges allegiance to a ruler just for some worldly benefit, and then if the ruler bestows on him (something out of that) he fulfills his allegiance, and if does not give him he does not fulfill it."
Las Exégesis Árabes:
11. A slanderer, going about with malicious gossip,
Las Exégesis Árabes:
12. Withholder of good, transgressor, sinful,
Las Exégesis Árabes:
13. Coarse, and besides all that, base-born (of illegitimate birth).
Las Exégesis Árabes:

14. Just because he had wealth and sons.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
15. When Our Verses (of The Qur'an) are recited to him, he says: "Legends of the ancients.”
Las Exégesis Árabes:
16. We shall soon brand him on the snout.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
17. We have tested 'these pagans" as We tested the owners of the garden, when they swore they would surely harvest all its fruit in the (early) morning,
Las Exégesis Árabes:
18. And made no exception (for the Will of Allah)5.
5. By saying if Allāh wills, or without leaving some for the poor.

Las Exégesis Árabes:
19. Then there came upon it (the garden) a (destructive) visitation from 'Allāh' your Lord, while they were sleeping.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
20. So it became as black, barren land.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
21. Then in the early morning they called out to each other,
Las Exégesis Árabes:
22. (Saying): "Go early to your harvest if you want to pick all 'the fruits."
Las Exégesis Árabes:
23. So they went off, whispering to one another,
Las Exégesis Árabes:
24."Let no poor person enter upon you (into the garden) this day (to ask for help).”
Las Exégesis Árabes:
25. And they went early firm in (this unjust) resolve6.
6. To carry out their plan to keep the poor away, confident of their ability, thinking that they have powers to prevent the poor from taking any of the fruits.

26. But when they saw it [utterly destroyed], they said: "We have surely gone astray."
Las Exégesis Árabes:
27. Rather, We are deprived (of the fruits).
Las Exégesis Árabes:
28. The most moderate of them said: "Did I not tell you why do you not glorify 'Allāh?"
Las Exégesis Árabes:
29. They said: "Glory be to our Lord - we have been unjust."
Las Exégesis Árabes:
30. Then they turned to one another, throwing blame.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
31. They said: "Woe to us, we were certainly transgressors."
Las Exégesis Árabes:
32. Perhaps our Lord will substitute for us a better [garden] than it. We are turning to our Lord in hope)7.
7. Of His mercy, forgiveness, and bounty.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
33. Such is the chastisement (in this life), and the Chastisement of the Hereafter is more grievous - if only they knew.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
34. Indeed, the righteous shall have near their Lord 'Allāh'.gardens of Bliss.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
35. Shall We then treat the Muslims (who submit to God’s will) as the wicked.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
36. What is the matter with you? How do you judge?
Las Exégesis Árabes:
37. Or have you a scripture in which you read,
Las Exégesis Árabes:
38. that you will surely have therein whatever you choose?
Las Exégesis Árabes:
39Or do you have oaths binding on us reaching until the Day of Resurrection, that you will have whatever you judge?
Las Exégesis Árabes:
40. Ask them 'O Muhammad" which of them can guarantee that.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
41. Or do they have associate-gods 'besides Allāh'? Then let them bring their associate-gods8, if they are truthful.
8. I.e., those to whom they attribute divinity other than Allāh, or partners to Him from among themselves.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
42. On the Day when the Shin will be bared9, and they (the deniers and hypocrites) will be called upon to prostrate, but they will not be able to do so10,
9. In accordance with authentic ḥadīths: "The Shin" here refers to that of Allāh, before which every believer will prostrate on the Day of Judgement. Another meaning of the verse: When legs are bared and everyone will find before him great difficulty.
10. As they failed to do so willingly in this worldly life.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
43. With eyes cast down, humiliation will cover them; and indeed they used to be called to prostrate, while they were sound (of health and able to prostrate).
Las Exégesis Árabes:
44. So leave Me 'to deal' with those who reject this 'Divine' message (Qur’an); We shall gradually draw them (to their ruin), from where they perceive not.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
45. I will 'even' give them some time. My plan is so firm 'that they will not be able to escape from it'.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
46. Or do you ask them for a reward (for this Message), so they are overburdened by debt?
Las Exégesis Árabes:
47.  Or do they have (the knowledge of) the unseen, so they are the ones who write it down.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
48. So be patient for the decision of your Lord 'O Muhammad', and be not like the fellow of the whale (Jonah), when he cried out in anguish11.
11. While inside the belly of the whale.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
49. Had not a grace from his Lord 'Allāh' reached him, he would have been cast forth upon the barren shore while he was blameworthy12.
12. But instead, Allāh accepted his repentance and delivered him from that.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
50. So his Lord chose him, and made him of the righteous.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
51. Those who disbelieve would almost make you 'Muhammad' slip with their eyes (through hatred) when they hear the Reminder (the Qur’an), and they say: "He is certainly out of his mind."
Las Exégesis Árabes:
52. But it (this Qur’an) is only a reminder to all the nations.
Las Exégesis Árabes:
