Al-Inshiqāq

آیه: 1

إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنشَقَّتۡ

1. When the sky is split asunder,

آیه: 2

وَأَذِنَتۡ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتۡ

2. And listens its Lord (Allah, in full obedience) and it must do so;

آیه: 3

وَإِذَا ٱلۡأَرۡضُ مُدَّتۡ

3. When the earth is stretched out,

آیه: 4

وَأَلۡقَتۡ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتۡ

4. And casts out all that is in it¹ and becomes empty,

1. i.e., its dead bodies and treasures

آیه: 5

وَأَذِنَتۡ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتۡ

5. And listens its Lord (Allah, in full obedience) and it must do so.

آیه: 6

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدۡحٗا فَمُلَٰقِيهِ

6. O man, you are striving toward (the encounter with) your Lord (i.e., after your death) a hard striving, and you will meet (the results of your deeds).

آیه: 7

فَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ

7. As for him who is given his record in his right hand,

آیه: 8

فَسَوۡفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابٗا يَسِيرٗا

8. He will be reckoned with an easy Reckoning;

آیه: 9

وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ مَسۡرُورٗا

9. And he will return to his people joyfully.

آیه: 10

وَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ وَرَآءَ ظَهۡرِهِۦ

10. But as for him who is given his Record behind his back,

آیه: 11

فَسَوۡفَ يَدۡعُواْ ثُبُورٗا

11. He will cry out for destruction (i.e., death),

آیه: 12

وَيَصۡلَىٰ سَعِيرًا

12. And enter into a blazing Fire.

آیه: 13

إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فِيٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ مَسۡرُورًا

13. He was joyful among his people.

آیه: 14

إِنَّهُۥ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ

14. He had thought that he would never return (to Allah).

آیه: 15

بَلَىٰٓۚ إِنَّ رَبَّهُۥ كَانَ بِهِۦ بَصِيرٗا

15. But yes, His Lord (Allah) was ever Watchful of him.

آیه: 16

فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِٱلشَّفَقِ

16. So I (God) swear by the twilight of the sunset,

آیه: 17

وَٱلَّيۡلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ

17. And by the night and that which it drives on,

آیه: 18

وَٱلۡقَمَرِ إِذَا ٱتَّسَقَ

18. And by the moon when it becomes full -

آیه: 19

لَتَرۡكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقٖ

19. That you shall enter one state after another.

آیه: 20

فَمَا لَهُمۡ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ

20. But what is the matter with them that they do not believe?

آیه: 21

وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانُ لَا يَسۡجُدُونَۤ۩

21. And when the Qur’an is recited to them they do not prostrate (nor submit to its Commandments)?

آیه: 22

بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ يُكَذِّبُونَ

22. But those who disbelieve (in Allah and His Revelations) reject the Truth.

آیه: 23

وَٱللَّهُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ

23. And Allah knows best what they keep secret (in their chests),

آیه: 24

فَبَشِّرۡهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ

24. So announce to them a painful Torment;

آیه: 25

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمۡ أَجۡرٌ غَيۡرُ مَمۡنُونِۭ

25. Except those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them is a reward that will never be cut off.
