2. He to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, Who has not taken a son3, and has no partner in 'governing' His Kingdom. He has created everything in its due proportion, and ordained its destiny.
3. The Prophet Muhammad may peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him said: Allāh Almighty has said: The son of Adam denied Me and he had no right to do so. And he reviled Me and he had no right to do so. As for his denying Me, it is his saying: He will not remake me (i.e., bring me back to life after death) after He made me at first - and the initial creation [of him] is no easier for Me than remaking him. As for his reviling Me, it is his saying: Allāh has taken to Himself a son, while I am the One, the Everlasting Refuge. I begot not nor was I begotten, and there is none comparable to Me.
3. Yet they have taken besides Him gods who create nothing, while they are themselves created, who possess not for themselves any harm or benefit, and who have no control over life, death and Resurrection.
4. Those who deny (the Truth) say: "This (Qur’an) is only a lie which he 'Muhammad' has invented, with the help of other people." So indeed they have committed an injustice and falsehood.
6. Say: "It (the Qur’an) has been revealed by Allāh Who knows (every) secret within the heavens and the earth. Verily, He is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful."
7. They (the pagans) say: "What is the matter with this messenger (Muhammad) that he eats food and goes about in the markets? Why has not an angel been sent down to him, so that he should have been a warner with him?
8. Or (why is not) a treasure sent down to him (from heaven), or does he not have a garden from which he eats?" The unjust say: "You do not follow any but a man bewitched."
10. Blessed is He 'Allāh' Who, if He wills, will give you 'O Prophet' what is better than that, gardens under which rivers flow, and He will give you palaces.
17. On the Day when He 'Allāh' will gather them (pagans, deniers), and whatever they had been worshipping besides Allāh, He will say: "Was it you who led astray these, My slaves (of mankind), or did they themselves go astray from the 'right' Path?"
18. They will say: "(O Allāh) You alone deserve all Glory (Honour and Praise). We are not supposed to take any guardian (lord, savior) other than You6. But you let them and their forefathers enjoy (the pleasures of the worldly life) until they forgot the warning7, and thereby became a people (corrupt) and doomed to perdition.
6. So they had no right to take us as such and make us objects of their worship.
7. Mohammad, God's messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Whoever dies worshipping other gods besides Allāh will enter Hell.”
19. Thus they will deny all what you say8, then you can neither avert (the torment) nor get help. Whoever among you commits iniquity9, We shall make him taste a grievous torment.
8. i.e., the false gods will deny their worshipers on the Day of Judgment.
9. Ascribes partners to Allāh and die as such.
20. We have not sent before you any messengers but they certainly ate food and went about in the markets. We have made some of you a trial for others. Will you then have patience? Your Lord 'Allāh' is Ever All-Seeing.
21. Those who do not expect to meet Us, say: "Why have not angels been sent down upon us, or (why) do we not see 'Allāh' our Lord?" They are really too proud of themselves and are insolent with great insolence.
22. On the Day they see the angels, there will be no good news on that Day for the wicked, and they will say: "It (i.e., any good tidings) is a forbidden, totally prohibited10."
10. None will be allowed to enter Paradise except the one who says: "laa ilaaha illal Laah," (none has the right to be worshipped but Allâh) and followed the way of the Prophet Muhammad, God's last and final messenger.
27. On the Day when the evildoer (pagan, unbeliever) will bite his hands, saying: "Oh, Would that I had taken a Way (to Allāh) with the messenger 'Muhammad'.
31. Thus We have made for every prophet an enemy from among the wicked. Enough is your Lord as a guide and helper13.
13. The Prophet Muhammad when he was rejected and persecuted by the deniers, he prayed to His Lord, Allāh, saying: "To You, my Lord, I complain of my weakness,
lack of support and the humiliation I am made to receive. Most Compassionate and Merciful God, Allāh. You are the Lord of the weak, and you are my Lord. To whom do You leave me? To a distant person who receives me with hostility? Or to an enemy You have given power over me? As long as you are not displeased with me, I do not care what I face. I would, however, be much happier with Your mercy. I seek refuge in the light of Your face by which all darkness is dispelled and both this life and the life to come are put in their right course against incurring your wrath or being the subject of your anger. To You I submit (O Allah), until I earn Your pleasure. Everything is powerless without your support".
32. Those who deny (the Truth) say: "Why has not the Qur’an been sent down to him all at once? Thus (it is revealed), that We may strengthen your heart by it. We have revealed it to you gradually, in stages14."
14. It was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad in 23 years.
37. And the people of Noah, when they denied the messengers, We drowned them and made them a Sign (and lesson) for the people. We have prepared a painful torment for the workers of iniquity;
40. They have certainly passed by the town (of Sodom) that was rained an evil rain (of stones). Have they not then seen it? Rather, they are not expecting Resurrection.
42. He would have nearly led us astray from our gods had we not adhered to them patiently. They will soon know, when they see the torment, who is most astray from the right Path.
45. Have you not considered (how Allāh) your Lord extends the shadow? If He had willed He would have made it stationary; then We have made the sun its guide.
47. It is He 'Allāh' Who made the night as a cover for you18, and sleep for rest, and He made the day for returning to life 'and seeking one’s livelihood'.
18. Covering and concealing you in its darkness and providing rest.
53. It is He 'Allāh' who has merged the two seas, one sweet and fresh, and the other salty and bitter, and He placed between them a barrier and a prohibiting partition.
54. And it is He 'Allāh' Who has created man from water 'sperm-drop', then He has made them relations by blood and in-laws by marriage. For your Lord 'Allāh' is ever Competent.
55. Yet they worship besides Allāh that which neither benefits them nor causes them harm. The denier is ever a helper (of Satan) against his Lord 'Allāh'.
56. We have sent you 'Muhammad' only as a giver of good news and as a warner19.
19. Muhammad, God's messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “No one has a greater sense of honor than Allāh. No one loves to allow excuses more than Allāh. For this reason, He sent the Messengers to give glad tidings and warnings. No one loves to be praised more than Allāh on account of what Allāh has promised of Paradise.”
58. Trust in (Allāh alone) the Ever-Living, Who dies not, and glorify (Him with) Praise. Enough is Allāh as being Aware of the sins of His slaves (of mankind and jinn).
59. It is He Who created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in six Days, then rose over the Throne. He is the Most Compassionate, so ask 'none other than Allāh' the All-Aware about Himself (in the Qur’an and Sunnah).
60. Yet, when they are told: "Prostrate to (Allāh) the Most Compassionate." They say: "Who is the Most Compassionate? Shall we prostrate to that which you command us?" And it increases them in aversion.
63. The (true) servants of the Most Compassionate (Allāh) are those who walk on the earth in humbleness, and when the foolish address them (improperly), they say: (Words of) peace20.
20. I.e., address them with mild words of gentleness, avoiding improper words and harshness.
Muhammad, God's Messenger ﷺ said, "Allāh loves one who is righteous, independent, obscure". It is he who have a strong faith in Allāh and do good deeds out of love for Him and abstain from sins, who do not ask from others, rather work hard to earn for his livelihood, who is obscure and unnoticed and do not seek fame or recognition but rather do good deeds out of pure intentions without expecting anything in return, and who demonstrate humility, selflessness, and faithfulness towards Allāh.
68. Who do not invoke besides Allāh any other god, and do not kill such life which Allāh has made sacred, except with (legal) right, and (who) do not commit adultery. Whoever should do this shall find the recompense of his sin.
70. Except him who repents, believes and does rightous deeds. For them Allāh will change their evil deeds into good ones. For Allāh is ever All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
75. These will be rewarded with the 'most elevated' mansions (of Paradise) for their patience 'and perseverance', and will be received therein with greetings of peace.
77. Say 'to the deniers': What would my Lord 'Allāh' care for you were it not for your invocation22; but now that you have disbelieved23, (the permanent torment) will soon be bound to you24.
22. When you are in adversity, which He then removes.
23. In the Qur’an and the Prophet Muhammad.
24 In addition to what will befall you in this world.
