275. Those who devour interest (usury) cannot stand (on the Day of Resurrection) except as one whom Satan has confounded by (his) touch stands. That is because they say: "Trading is just like usury 'interest', whereas Allāh has allowed trading102 and forbidden interest103. So to whomsoever the admonition has come from his Lord 'Allāh', and then desists, he shall have (the gains of) what has passed, and his case is for Allāh (to judge). Whoever returns (to usury) these are the inmates of the Fire - they will abide therein.
102. Muhammad, God's messenger ﷺ said, "The seller and the buyer have the right to keep or return goods as long as they have not parted or till they part; and if both the parties spoke the truth and described the defects and qualities (of the goods) honestly, then they would be blessed in their transaction, and if they told lies or hid something, then the blessings of their transaction would be lost."
103. Muhammad, God's messenger prohibited taking money for blood, the price of a dog, the earnings by prostitution, and the money paid to a soothsayer; and he cursed her who tattoos and her who gets tattooed, the eater of Riba (usury - interest), and the maker of images."
277. Indeed, those who believe and do good deeds who are steadfast in their prayers and pay the poor-rate, they shall have their reward from their Lord 'Allāh'. They shall have no fear, nor shall they grieve.
279. If you do not, then be informed of War (against you) from Allāh 'God' and His messenger. But if you sincerely repent104, you will have your capital - wrong not105 and you will not be wronged106.
104. And give up interest based transactions completely.
105. By asking for more than your capital sums.
106. By receiving less than your capital sums.
280. If (the debtor) facing a difficulty, then he should (be granted) a respite to (the time of) ease. And if you remit as charity (it is) better for you, if you only knew107.
107. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: “Whoever is hopeful that Allāh will spare him the hardships of the Day of Judgement, then let him grant deferral to a constrained debtor, or relieve him ˹altogether˺”.
281. Guard yourselves against a Day in which you shall be 'all' returned to Allāh; then every soul shall be paid back in full what it has done, and they will not be dealt with unjustly.
