1. All praise be to Allāh (alone), to whom belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. His is (all) praise in the Hereafter. He is the All-Wise, the All-Aware.
2. He knows all that penetrates into the earth, all that comes out of it, all that descends from the heaven and all that ascends to it. He is the Most Merciful, the All-Forgiving.
3. Those who deny (the Truth) say: "The Hour (of Doom) shall not come upon us." Say: "Yes, by 'Allāh' my Lord, it will certainly come upon you." (Allāh is) the Knower of the unseen, not even the weight of an atom (or a small ant) or less than that or greater escapes 'from His knowledge' in the heavens or in the earth, but (all) is in a clear Register.
6. Those to whom the knowledge has been given1 see clearly that (the Qur’an) which has been sent down to you (Muhammad) from your Lord is the Truth, and it guides to the Path of the All-Mighty, the Praiseworthy 'Allāh'.
1. Of the Muslims and the believers from among the People of the Scripture.
7. Those who deny (the Truth) say 'mockingly to one another': "Shall we show you a man who will tell you that when you (die and) are completely disintegrated within the earth, you will be created anew2?
9. Do they not then see what is before them and what is behind them of the heaven and the earth? If We will, We can make the earth swallow them, or cause fragments of the sky to fall down upon them. There is certainly a Sign in this for every sincere person who turns (to Allāh in repentance).
11. 'Commanding': "Make full (coats of mail), and measure 'precisely' the links (thereof) and work (all of you, O believers) righteousness. I am ever Seeing of what you do."
12. (We subjected) the wind to Solomon, its morning stride was a month’s journey and its evening stride was a month’s. We made a spring of molten copper to flow for him. Among the jinn there were those who worked before him by the Command of his Lord 'Allāh'. Whoever deviated among them from Our Command, We shall make him taste of the torment of the blazing Fire.
13. They would make for him anything that he wanted of masques (and of palaces), images (of inanimate objects), large basins as reservoirs, and huge immovable cooking pots. (We said): "Family of David, work in gratitude. For few of My servants are grateful3."
3. In our materialistic world, we are constantly bombarded with opportunities for consumption. It’s easy to spend our valuable time on activities that bring us temporary entertainment but little lasting value – from scrolling on social media and to shopping or eating too much. While moments of rest and recreation are important, we must guard against allowing these activities to dominate our lives and distract us from Allāh. There are countless ways we can make a positive difference in our communities, mosques, and beyond. Yet, the laborers are few. Many people are caught up in consumption, missing the chance to contribute to Allah’s work.
Allāh calls us to be laborers in his harvest. This means prioritizing the work Allāh has prepared for us over excessive consumption. When we focus on contributing rather than consuming, we fulfill Allah’s purposes for our lives. We become instruments of Allah’s love, shining Allah’s light into the darkness of a world in need. You may serve in your mosque, start a volunteer project in your community, mentor someone, or simply be present and available to those around you. Every small act of service contributes to the larger harvest.
14. When We decreed death for him (Solomon), nothing informed them (the Jinn) of his death except a termite that kept eating away at his staff. When he fell down, the jinn realized that if they had known the unseen, they would not have remained in the humiliating suffering (of servitude).
15. There was a sign 'of Allah’s grace' for the people of Sheba in their homeland. (We gave them) two orchards - one on the right and one on the left (and told them): "Eat of the provision of (Allāh) your Lord and give thanks to Him. A good land and an All-Forgiving Lord."
16. But they turned away (from the Truth), so We sent upon them the flood of the dam, and replaced their two orchards with two others yielding bitter fruit and (growing) tamarisk and a few lote trees.
18. And (before their downfall) We placed between them and the towns which We had blessed4 (many) towns within sight of one another, and thus We made traveling easy (for them, saying): "Travel through them by night or by day, secure."
4. I.e., between the land of the people of Sheba and the land of Makkah and Jerusalem.
19. But they said: "(O Allāh) our Lord, make the distances of our journeys longer." They were unjust to themselves, so We made them (as exemplary) tales (of the past) and scattered them in the land with an utter scattering. There are certainly signs in this for every patient, grateful one.
21. He (Iblis) had no authority over them (mankind and Jinn), except to the extent that We might distinguish him who believes in the Hereafter from him who is in doubt about it. For 'Allāh' your Lord is the Preserver of all things6.
6. To avoid coming under Satan’s influence or control, you need to learn how he manipulates people, so that you are not ignorant of his designs. By reading the Qur’an and the Sunnah, you can obtain vital knowledge of Satan’s tactics and thus avoid becoming a victim. Get rid of any equipments associated with demon activity. That includes crosses, amulets, charms, printed matter, videos, music, and computer applications that promote spiritism or divination.
22. Say, 'Muhammad': "Call upon those you claim 'as deities' besides Allāh. (They cannot help you). As They do not control the weight of an atom in the heavens or in the earth nor have they any partnership in either, nor is any among them a helper to Him7.
7. Allāh has negated all that the polytheists have attached to Him of false gods. For He has negated that anyone has any dominion or any share in the heavens or on the earth besides Him, or that there is any assistant to Allāh, and that there is nothing to remain except intercession. It is clear that intercession will be of no benefit to anyone except for who has been granted permission by Allāh.
23. Intercession does not benefit anything with Him except for one whom He permits. (And those wait) until when fear is removed from their hearts8, they will say (to one another): "What is it that your Lord has 'just' said?" They will say: "The Truth." For He is the Most High, the Most Great.
8. I.e., the hearts of the angels who will be permitted to intercede.
26. Say: "Our Lord 'Allāh' will gather us (all) together, then He will judge between us in truth (and justice). For He is the Just Judge, the All-Knower."
27. Say: "Show me those whom you have joined with Him as partners 'in worship'. No (there are not at all any partners with Him). Rather, He (Allāh alone) is (The only True) God, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise."
28. We have sent you (Muhammad) to all people10 as a bearer of good news and as a warner, but most people do not know11.
10. If you declare with your mouth, “that there is no god except Allāh and that Mohammad is God's servant and messenger,” and believe that in your heart, you will be saved from the Hellfire and admitted to heaven (Paradise).
11. Nor do they appreciate what a great blessing it is for them.
31. Those who deny (the Truth) say: "We shall not believe in this Qur’an, nor in that which is before it (of the Torah and the Gospel)." But if only you could see (how it will be on the Day of Judgment) when the unjust (the pagans) will be made to stand before their Lord 'Allāh', how they will cast the blame one to another! Those who were reckoned weak shall say to those who were arrogant: "Had it not been for you we would certainly have been believers."
32. Those who were arrogant will say to those who were deemed weak: "Did we turn you away from the guidance after it had come to you?" No, you (yourselves) were wicked people.
33. Those who were deemed weak will say to those who were arrogant, "Rather, (it was your) conspiracy by night and day when you ordered us to deny Allāh and to set up equals with Him." They are filled with remorse when they see the torment, and We shall put shackles on the necks of the deniers. They will not be recompensed except for what they used to do (of sins).
37. It is not your wealth nor your children that bring you colser to Us12, but whoever believes and does good deeds, these it is for whom there is a double reward for what they did (of righteousness), and they will reside in the high dwellings (of Paradise) in peace and security.
39. Say: "(Allāh) my Lord extends the provision for whom He wills of His servants or straitens it. Whatever thing you spend (for the Cause of Allāh), He will compensate it. For He is the Best of providers."
41. They will reply: "Glory (and Honor) be to You (O Allāh), Exalted above that You should have an associate. You are our Guardian, not them. No, but they were blindly worshiping the jinn (demons). Most of them were believers in them."
42. So on that Day none of you will control benefit nor harm for another, and We shall say to the unjust (the pagans): "Taste the torment of the Fire which you used to deny."
43. When Our clear Verses are recited to them, they say: "This is only a man (i.e., Muhammad) who wants to turn you away from what your fathers used to worship." And they say: "This, (the Qur’an), is only a lie that is invented." And those who deny say of the Truth when it comes to them: "This is only clear magic."
45. Those before them denied (the Truth), and these have not yet attained a tenth of what We gave them (of power and wealth), yet they denied My messengers. How (terrible) was My Reproach.
46. Say 'Muhammad': "I only advise you to do one thing, that you stand up purely for Allah’s Sake in pairs and individually, then reflect (on this Message). Your companion (the Prophet Muhammad) is not possessed (by a spirit). He is only a warner to you in face of a severe torment.
47. Say: "Never have I asked of you any reward (for this Message), rather it is all for your own benefit. My reward is only with Allāh. He is a Witness over all things."
50. Say: "If I go astray, I only go astray against myself, and if I remain 'rightly' guided, it is because of what my Lord 'Allāh' reveals to me. He is All-Hearing, Ever Near."
54. A barrier will be set between them and that which they desire19, as was done before with the likes of them. They were in disquieting doubt about it20.
19. I.e., the attainment of faith and admission into Paradise.
20. The Oneness of God and the life of Hereafter.
