Saba’

1 : 34

ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي لَهُۥ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَهُ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ ٱلۡخَبِيرُ

1. All praise be to Allāh (alone), to whom belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. His is 'all' praise in the Hereafter. He is the All-Wise, the All-Aware.

2 : 34

يَعۡلَمُ مَا يَلِجُ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا يَخۡرُجُ مِنۡهَا وَمَا يَنزِلُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا يَعۡرُجُ فِيهَاۚ وَهُوَ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ٱلۡغَفُورُ

2. He knows all that penetrates into the earth, and all that comes out of it, all that descends from the heaven and all that ascends to it. And He is the Merciful, the Most Forgiving.

3 : 34

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَا تَأۡتِينَا ٱلسَّاعَةُۖ قُلۡ بَلَىٰ وَرَبِّي لَتَأۡتِيَنَّكُمۡ عَٰلِمِ ٱلۡغَيۡبِۖ لَا يَعۡزُبُ عَنۡهُ مِثۡقَالُ ذَرَّةٖ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَلَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَآ أَصۡغَرُ مِن ذَٰلِكَ وَلَآ أَكۡبَرُ إِلَّا فِي كِتَٰبٖ مُّبِينٖ

3. And those who disbelieve (in the Truth) say: "The Hour (of Doom) shall not come upon us." Say: "Yes indeed, by my Lord - it will certainly come upon you." The Knower of the unseen, not (even) an atom's weight escapes from His knowledge in the heavens or in the earth, neither is anything smaller than that, or greater, but (all) is in a clear Register.

4 : 34

لِّيَجۡزِيَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِۚ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ لَهُم مَّغۡفِرَةٞ وَرِزۡقٞ كَرِيمٞ

4. So that He may reward those who believe and do righteous deeds. These it is for whom is Forgiveness and an honorable sustenance (in Paradise).

5 : 34

وَٱلَّذِينَ سَعَوۡ فِيٓ ءَايَٰتِنَا مُعَٰجِزِينَ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمۡ عَذَابٞ مِّن رِّجۡزٍ أَلِيمٞ

5. But those who strive against Our Revelations to cause failure - those, for them is a torment of a painful plague.

6 : 34

وَيَرَى ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡعِلۡمَ ٱلَّذِيٓ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ هُوَ ٱلۡحَقَّ وَيَهۡدِيٓ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطِ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡحَمِيدِ

6. And those who have been given knowledge ^[1] see that (the Qur’an) which has been sent down to you (O Muhammad) from your Lord is the Truth, and it guides to the Path of the All-Mighty, the Praiseworthy.

[1]. Of the Muslims and the true believers from among the People of the Scripture.

7 : 34

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ هَلۡ نَدُلُّكُمۡ عَلَىٰ رَجُلٖ يُنَبِّئُكُمۡ إِذَا مُزِّقۡتُمۡ كُلَّ مُمَزَّقٍ إِنَّكُمۡ لَفِي خَلۡقٖ جَدِيدٍ

7. Those who disbelieve (in the Truth) say (mockingly to one another): "Shall we show you a man who will tell you that when you are utterly torn up in complete tearing (into particles within the earth and decayed), you will surely be in a new creation ^[2]?

[2]. I.e., resurrected for Judgment.

8 : 34

أَفۡتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَم بِهِۦ جِنَّةُۢۗ بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ فِي ٱلۡعَذَابِ وَٱلضَّلَٰلِ ٱلۡبَعِيدِ

8. Has he invented a lie against Allāh, or is there a madness in him? Rather, those who do not believe in the Hereafter are in the torment and in the farthest error.

9 : 34

أَفَلَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ إِلَىٰ مَا بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَمَا خَلۡفَهُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ إِن نَّشَأۡ نَخۡسِفۡ بِهِمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ أَوۡ نُسۡقِطۡ عَلَيۡهِمۡ كِسَفٗا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗ لِّكُلِّ عَبۡدٖ مُّنِيبٖ

9. Have they not then seen at what is before them and what is behind them of the heaven and the earth? If We will, We can make the earth swallow them, or cause fragments of the sky to fall down upon them. There is certainly a Sign in this for every servant who turns (to Allāh in repentance).

10 : 34

۞ وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَيۡنَا دَاوُۥدَ مِنَّا فَضۡلٗاۖ يَٰجِبَالُ أَوِّبِي مَعَهُۥ وَٱلطَّيۡرَۖ وَأَلَنَّا لَهُ ٱلۡحَدِيدَ

10. And certainly, We bestowed David from Us a Bounty. "O mountains, repeat Our praises with him and you birds." And We made the iron malleable for him,

11 : 34

أَنِ ٱعۡمَلۡ سَٰبِغَٰتٖ وَقَدِّرۡ فِي ٱلسَّرۡدِۖ وَٱعۡمَلُواْ صَٰلِحًاۖ إِنِّي بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ بَصِيرٞ

11. "Make full coats of mail, and calculate (precisely) the links thereof, and work (all of you) righteousness ^[3]. Indeed, I am All-Seer of what you do."

[3]. Pursuing righteousness leads to a lifestyle that exhibits integrity. You are committed to Allah’s ways, and you serve Allāh, not yourself.You work righteousness. Your deeds exhibit justice. You promote good, not evil. Your speech exhibits reliability, honesty, and the truth of Allah’s Word. When you’re a person who is pursuing righteousness, your heart is settled and steadfast on the things of Allāh. Therefore, beginning in your heart, what flows forth should be what is pleasing to Him. Evil heart intents bring forth evil; but not so with those whose hearts are focused with Allāh and His treasures. You don’t lie, deceive or manipulate. Your words matter. It’s always best to uplift and encourage others, speaking things that edify, not tear down. Our words and actions should always exemplify grace. Oftentimes gossip can happen because there is a desire to put someone down, as opposed to offering grace over their shortcomings. Just as we’d like to receive grace for our shortcomings, we should offer grace to all we come into contact with.
To pursue righteousness despise evil. You see things for what they are—evil is evil. You hate the things Allāh hates. You don’t allow yourself to walk with others in their wicked ways. Honor those who fear Allāh. Respect fellow believers. Give them grace and encouragement. You can encourage them with your actions and words. Pursuing righteousness requires to keep your word and not change. To hold yourself accountable, no matter how high the cost. Be generous without interest. When you live righteously you can give freely, because you know Allāh is your provider. You can give and expect nothing in return. You don't take bribes. This means that you cannot be bought.
We are solid in our ways when we rely on Allāh in our daily actions and interactions.

12 : 34

وَلِسُلَيۡمَٰنَ ٱلرِّيحَ غُدُوُّهَا شَهۡرٞ وَرَوَاحُهَا شَهۡرٞۖ وَأَسَلۡنَا لَهُۥ عَيۡنَ ٱلۡقِطۡرِۖ وَمِنَ ٱلۡجِنِّ مَن يَعۡمَلُ بَيۡنَ يَدَيۡهِ بِإِذۡنِ رَبِّهِۦۖ وَمَن يَزِغۡ مِنۡهُمۡ عَنۡ أَمۡرِنَا نُذِقۡهُ مِنۡ عَذَابِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ

12. 'And to Solomon (We subjected) the wind. Its morning course was a month’s (journey) and its evening course was a month’s (journey). And We caused to flow for him a spring (of) molten brass. Among the jinn there were those who worked before him by the Command of his Lord (Allāh). Whoever deviated among them from Our Command, We shall make him taste of the torment of the blazing Fire.

13 : 34

يَعۡمَلُونَ لَهُۥ مَا يَشَآءُ مِن مَّحَٰرِيبَ وَتَمَٰثِيلَ وَجِفَانٖ كَٱلۡجَوَابِ وَقُدُورٖ رَّاسِيَٰتٍۚ ٱعۡمَلُوٓاْ ءَالَ دَاوُۥدَ شُكۡرٗاۚ وَقَلِيلٞ مِّنۡ عِبَادِيَ ٱلشَّكُورُ

13. They would work for him whatever he wanted of masques (and palaces), images (of inanimate objects), large basins as reservoirs, and huge immovable cooking pots. (We said): "Do [good deeds] in gratitude, O household of David!” And few of My slaves are grateful ^[4]."

[4]. In our materialistic world, we are constantly bombarded with opportunities for consumption. It’s easy to spend our valuable time on activities that bring us temporary entertainment but little lasting value – from scrolling on social media and to shopping or eating too much. While moments of rest and recreation are important, we must guard against allowing these activities to dominate our lives and distract us from Allāh 'God'. There are countless ways we can make a positive difference in our communities, mosques, and beyond. Yet, the laborers are few. Many people are caught up in consumption, missing the chance to contribute to Allah’s work.
Allāh calls us to be laborers in his harvest. This means prioritizing the work Allāh has prepared for us over excessive consumption. When we focus on contributing rather than consuming, we fulfill Allah’s purposes for our lives. We become instruments of Allah’s love, shining Allah’s light into the darkness of a world in need. You may serve in your mosque, start a volunteer project in your community, mentor someone, or simply be present and available to those around you. Every small act of service contributes to the larger harvest.

14 : 34

فَلَمَّا قَضَيۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ ٱلۡمَوۡتَ مَا دَلَّهُمۡ عَلَىٰ مَوۡتِهِۦٓ إِلَّا دَآبَّةُ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ تَأۡكُلُ مِنسَأَتَهُۥۖ فَلَمَّا خَرَّ تَبَيَّنَتِ ٱلۡجِنُّ أَن لَّوۡ كَانُواْ يَعۡلَمُونَ ٱلۡغَيۡبَ مَا لَبِثُواْ فِي ٱلۡعَذَابِ ٱلۡمُهِينِ

14. When We decreed death for him (Solomon), nothing indicated them (the Jinn) of his death except a termite that kept gnawing away at his staff. When he fell down, it became clear to the jinn that if they had known the unseen, they would not have remained in the humiliating suffering (of servitude).

15 : 34

لَقَدۡ كَانَ لِسَبَإٖ فِي مَسۡكَنِهِمۡ ءَايَةٞۖ جَنَّتَانِ عَن يَمِينٖ وَشِمَالٖۖ كُلُواْ مِن رِّزۡقِ رَبِّكُمۡ وَٱشۡكُرُواْ لَهُۥۚ بَلۡدَةٞ طَيِّبَةٞ وَرَبٌّ غَفُورٞ

15. Indeed there was for (the people of) Sheba a sign in their dwelling-place. (We gave them) two orchards - on (the) right and on (the) left (and told them): "Eat of the provision of (Allāh) your Lord, and give thanks to Him. A good land and an Oft-Forgiving Lord."

16 : 34

فَأَعۡرَضُواْ فَأَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ سَيۡلَ ٱلۡعَرِمِ وَبَدَّلۡنَٰهُم بِجَنَّتَيۡهِمۡ جَنَّتَيۡنِ ذَوَاتَيۡ أُكُلٍ خَمۡطٖ وَأَثۡلٖ وَشَيۡءٖ مِّن سِدۡرٖ قَلِيلٖ

16. But they turned away (from the Truth of Islam), so We sent upon them the flood of the dam, and We replaced for them their two (fields of) gardens with two gardens yielding bitter fruit and (growing) tamarisk and something of sparse lote trees.

17 : 34

ذَٰلِكَ جَزَيۡنَٰهُم بِمَا كَفَرُواْۖ وَهَلۡ نُجَٰزِيٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡكَفُورَ

17. By this We recompensed them for that they disbelieved. And do We (thus) recompense any except the ungrateful?

18 : 34

وَجَعَلۡنَا بَيۡنَهُمۡ وَبَيۡنَ ٱلۡقُرَى ٱلَّتِي بَٰرَكۡنَا فِيهَا قُرٗى ظَٰهِرَةٗ وَقَدَّرۡنَا فِيهَا ٱلسَّيۡرَۖ سِيرُواْ فِيهَا لَيَالِيَ وَأَيَّامًا ءَامِنِينَ

18.  (before their downfall) We placed between them and the towns which We had blessed ^[5] (many) towns apparent, and We well determined therein the traveling (distances and made easy for them, saying): "Travel through them nights and days, secure."

[5]. I.e., between the land of the people of Sheba and the land of Makkah and Jerusalem.

19 : 34

فَقَالُواْ رَبَّنَا بَٰعِدۡ بَيۡنَ أَسۡفَارِنَا وَظَلَمُوٓاْ أَنفُسَهُمۡ فَجَعَلۡنَٰهُمۡ أَحَادِيثَ وَمَزَّقۡنَٰهُمۡ كُلَّ مُمَزَّقٍۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَٰتٖ لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٖ شَكُورٖ

19.They said: "Our Lord (Allāh), prolong (the stages) between our journeys." And they were unjust to themselves, so We made them (as exemplary) tales (of the past) and we tore them in complete tearing (to pieces). There are certainly signs in this for every most patient, grateful one.

20 : 34

وَلَقَدۡ صَدَّقَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ إِبۡلِيسُ ظَنَّهُۥ فَٱتَّبَعُوهُ إِلَّا فَرِيقٗا مِّنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ

20. And indeed, Iblîs (Satan) found true his conjecture about them ^[6], for they followed him, except for a party of the believers.

[6]. I.e., the people of Sheba or humankind in general.

21 : 34

وَمَا كَانَ لَهُۥ عَلَيۡهِم مِّن سُلۡطَٰنٍ إِلَّا لِنَعۡلَمَ مَن يُؤۡمِنُ بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ مِمَّنۡ هُوَ مِنۡهَا فِي شَكّٖۗ وَرَبُّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٍ حَفِيظٞ

21. And  he (Satan) had no authority over them (mankind and Jinn), except that We (might) make evident who believes in the Hereafter from him who is in doubt about it ^[7]. And your Lord is the Preserver of all things.

[7]. To avoid coming under Satan’s influence or control, you need to learn how he manipulates people, so that you are not ignorant of his designs. By reading the Qur’an and the Sunnah, you can obtain vital knowledge of Satan’s tactics and thus avoid becoming a victim. Get rid of any equipments associated with demon activity. That includes crosses, amulets, charms, printed matter, videos, music, and computer applications that promote spiritism or divination.

22 : 34

قُلِ ٱدۡعُواْ ٱلَّذِينَ زَعَمۡتُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ لَا يَمۡلِكُونَ مِثۡقَالَ ذَرَّةٖ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَلَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا لَهُمۡ فِيهِمَا مِن شِرۡكٖ وَمَا لَهُۥ مِنۡهُم مِّن ظَهِيرٖ

22. Say, (Muhammad): "Call upon those you claim (as deities) besides Allāh. (They cannot help you). As They do not possess (even) an atom’s weight in the heavens or in the earth, nor have they therein of any share. Nor is for Him from among them of any backer ^[8].

[8]. Allāh has negated all that the polytheists have attached to Him of false gods. For He has negated that anyone has any dominion or any share in the heavens or on the earth besides Him, or that there is any assistant to Allāh, and that there is nothing to remain except intercession. It is clear that intercession will be of no benefit to anyone except for who has been granted permission by Allāh.

23 : 34

وَلَا تَنفَعُ ٱلشَّفَٰعَةُ عِندَهُۥٓ إِلَّا لِمَنۡ أَذِنَ لَهُۥۚ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فُزِّعَ عَن قُلُوبِهِمۡ قَالُواْ مَاذَا قَالَ رَبُّكُمۡۖ قَالُواْ ٱلۡحَقَّۖ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَلِيُّ ٱلۡكَبِيرُ

23. And intercession does not benefit with Him except for one whom He permits. (And those wait) until when fear is removed from their hearts ^[9], they will say (to one another): "What is it that your Lord has (just) said?" They will say: "The Truth." And He is the Most High, the Most Great.

[9]. I.e., the hearts of the angels who will be permitted to intercede.

24 : 34

۞ قُلۡ مَن يَرۡزُقُكُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ قُلِ ٱللَّهُۖ وَإِنَّآ أَوۡ إِيَّاكُمۡ لَعَلَىٰ هُدًى أَوۡ فِي ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٖ

24. Say: "Who provides for you from the heavens and the earth?" Say: "Allāh." And surely either we or you ^[10] are on right guidance or in manifest error.

[10]. I.e., the believers or the pagans. There is no doubt that the guided people are the believers, and the misguided people are the pagans.

25 : 34

قُل لَّا تُسۡـَٔلُونَ عَمَّآ أَجۡرَمۡنَا وَلَا نُسۡـَٔلُ عَمَّا تَعۡمَلُونَ

25. Say: "You will not be questioned about what we committed (of wickedness), nor shall we be questioned as to what you do."

26 : 34

قُلۡ يَجۡمَعُ بَيۡنَنَا رَبُّنَا ثُمَّ يَفۡتَحُ بَيۡنَنَا بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَهُوَ ٱلۡفَتَّاحُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ

26. Say: "Our Lord (Allāh) will gather us (all) together, then He will judge between us in truth (and justice), for He is the All-Knowing Judge."

27 : 34

قُلۡ أَرُونِيَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَلۡحَقۡتُم بِهِۦ شُرَكَآءَۖ كَلَّاۚ بَلۡ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ

27. Say: "Show me those whom you have attached with Him as partners (to Him
in worship). No (there are not at all any partners with Him)! Rather, He (Allāh alone) is (The only True) God, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise."

28 : 34

وَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَٰكَ إِلَّا كَآفَّةٗ لِّلنَّاسِ بَشِيرٗا وَنَذِيرٗا وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ

28. And We have not sent you 'Muhammad' except to all people ^[11] as a bearer of good news and as a warner, but most people do not know ^[12].

[11]. If you declare with your mouth, “that there is no god except Allāh and that Mohammad is Allah's servant and messenger,” and believe that in your heart, you will be saved from the Hellfire and admitted to heaven 'Paradise'.
[12]. Nor do they appreciate what a great blessing it is for them.

29 : 34

وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا ٱلۡوَعۡدُ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ

29. They say: "When will this Promise (of Resurrection and Judgment come to pass), if you are truthful?"

30 : 34

قُل لَّكُم مِّيعَادُ يَوۡمٖ لَّا تَسۡتَـٔۡخِرُونَ عَنۡهُ سَاعَةٗ وَلَا تَسۡتَقۡدِمُونَ

30. Say: "For you is (the) appointment of a Day that you cannot delay of (it) for a moment, nor will you precede (it)."

31 : 34

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَن نُّؤۡمِنَ بِهَٰذَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ وَلَا بِٱلَّذِي بَيۡنَ يَدَيۡهِۗ وَلَوۡ تَرَىٰٓ إِذِ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ مَوۡقُوفُونَ عِندَ رَبِّهِمۡ يَرۡجِعُ بَعۡضُهُمۡ إِلَىٰ بَعۡضٍ ٱلۡقَوۡلَ يَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسۡتُضۡعِفُواْ لِلَّذِينَ ٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواْ لَوۡلَآ أَنتُمۡ لَكُنَّا مُؤۡمِنِينَ

31. And those who disbelieve (in the Truth) say: "We shall never believe in this Qur’an, nor in that which is before it (of the Torah and the Gospel)." But if only you could see (how it will be on the Day of Judgment) when the unjust (the pagans) are made to stand before their Lord (Allāh), returning back one to another the saying! Those who were reckoned weak will say to those who were arrogant: "Had it not been for you we would certainly have been believers."

32 : 34

قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواْ لِلَّذِينَ ٱسۡتُضۡعِفُوٓاْ أَنَحۡنُ صَدَدۡنَٰكُمۡ عَنِ ٱلۡهُدَىٰ بَعۡدَ إِذۡ جَآءَكُمۖ بَلۡ كُنتُم مُّجۡرِمِينَ

32. Those who were arrogant will say to those who were deemed weak: "Was it we who avert you from the guidance after it had come to you?" No, you (yourselves) were guilty.

33 : 34

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱسۡتُضۡعِفُواْ لِلَّذِينَ ٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواْ بَلۡ مَكۡرُ ٱلَّيۡلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذۡ تَأۡمُرُونَنَآ أَن نَّكۡفُرَ بِٱللَّهِ وَنَجۡعَلَ لَهُۥٓ أَندَادٗاۚ وَأَسَرُّواْ ٱلنَّدَامَةَ لَمَّا رَأَوُاْ ٱلۡعَذَابَۚ وَجَعَلۡنَا ٱلۡأَغۡلَٰلَ فِيٓ أَعۡنَاقِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْۖ هَلۡ يُجۡزَوۡنَ إِلَّا مَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ

33. And those who were deemed weak will say to those who were arrogant, "Rather, (it was your) conspiracy by night and day when you were commanding us to deny Allāh and set up for Him equals." And they will keep secret remorse when they see the torment, and We shall put shackles on the necks of those who disbelieve. Will they be recompensed except for what they used to do (of sins).

34 : 34

وَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا فِي قَرۡيَةٖ مِّن نَّذِيرٍ إِلَّا قَالَ مُتۡرَفُوهَآ إِنَّا بِمَآ أُرۡسِلۡتُم بِهِۦ كَٰفِرُونَ

34. We never sent a warner to a town but its affluent ones said: "Indeed, we are deniers in what you are sent with."

35 : 34

وَقَالُواْ نَحۡنُ أَكۡثَرُ أَمۡوَٰلٗا وَأَوۡلَٰدٗا وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ

35. And they said (also): "We have more wealth and children, and we are not to be tormented."

36 : 34

قُلۡ إِنَّ رَبِّي يَبۡسُطُ ٱلرِّزۡقَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَقۡدِرُ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ

36. Say, (O Muhammad): "Indeed, my Lord extends the provision for whom He wills and straitens it, but most people do not know."

37 : 34

وَمَآ أَمۡوَٰلُكُمۡ وَلَآ أَوۡلَٰدُكُم بِٱلَّتِي تُقَرِّبُكُمۡ عِندَنَا زُلۡفَىٰٓ إِلَّا مَنۡ ءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَٰلِحٗا فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمۡ جَزَآءُ ٱلضِّعۡفِ بِمَا عَمِلُواْ وَهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡغُرُفَٰتِ ءَامِنُونَ

37. And it is not your wealth nor your children that bring you nearer to Us ^[13] in position, but whoever believes and does good deeds, these it is for whom there is the double reward for what they do (of righteousness), and they will reside in the upper chambers (of Paradise) in peace and security.

[13]. I.e., earns the good Pleasure of Allāh.

38 : 34

وَٱلَّذِينَ يَسۡعَوۡنَ فِيٓ ءَايَٰتِنَا مُعَٰجِزِينَ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ فِي ٱلۡعَذَابِ مُحۡضَرُونَ

38. And those who strive against Our verses to cause (them) failure - those will be brought into the torment (to remain).

39 : 34

قُلۡ إِنَّ رَبِّي يَبۡسُطُ ٱلرِّزۡقَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِهِۦ وَيَقۡدِرُ لَهُۥۚ وَمَآ أَنفَقۡتُم مِّن شَيۡءٖ فَهُوَ يُخۡلِفُهُۥۖ وَهُوَ خَيۡرُ ٱلرَّٰزِقِينَ

39. Say: "Indeed, my Lord extends the provision for whom He wills of His servants and straitens it. Whatever thing you spend (for the Cause of Allāh), He will compensate it. For He is the Best of providers."

40 : 34

وَيَوۡمَ يَحۡشُرُهُمۡ جَمِيعٗا ثُمَّ يَقُولُ لِلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ أَهَٰٓؤُلَآءِ إِيَّاكُمۡ كَانُواْ يَعۡبُدُونَ

40. And on the Day (of Judgment) when He will gather them all together ^[14], then will say to the angels: "Were these it is you (angels) that they used to worship?"

[14]. The worshippers and the worshipped.

41 : 34

قَالُواْ سُبۡحَٰنَكَ أَنتَ وَلِيُّنَا مِن دُونِهِمۖ بَلۡ كَانُواْ يَعۡبُدُونَ ٱلۡجِنَّۖ أَكۡثَرُهُم بِهِم مُّؤۡمِنُونَ

41. They will say: "Glory (and Honor) be to You (O Allāh, Exalted above that You should have an associate). You are our Guardian, not them. No, but they were blindly worshiping the jinn (demons). Most of them were believers in them."

42 : 34

فَٱلۡيَوۡمَ لَا يَمۡلِكُ بَعۡضُكُمۡ لِبَعۡضٖ نَّفۡعٗا وَلَا ضَرّٗا وَنَقُولُ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ ذُوقُواْ عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ ٱلَّتِي كُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ

42. So Today none of you will possess (any power) to benefit or harm another, and We shall say to those who worked iniquity (the pagans): "Taste the torment of the Fire which you used to deny."

43 : 34

وَإِذَا تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ءَايَٰتُنَا بَيِّنَٰتٖ قَالُواْ مَا هَٰذَآ إِلَّا رَجُلٞ يُرِيدُ أَن يَصُدَّكُمۡ عَمَّا كَانَ يَعۡبُدُ ءَابَآؤُكُمۡ وَقَالُواْ مَا هَٰذَآ إِلَّآ إِفۡكٞ مُّفۡتَرٗىۚ وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لِلۡحَقِّ لَمَّا جَآءَهُمۡ إِنۡ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحۡرٞ مُّبِينٞ

43. When Our clear Verses are recited to them, they say: "This is only a man (i.e., Muhammad) who wants to turn you away from what your fathers used to worship." And they say: "This, (the Qur’an, is only a lie that is invented." And those who disbelieve (in the Truth) say of the Truth when it comes to them: "This is only clear magic."

44 : 34

وَمَآ ءَاتَيۡنَٰهُم مِّن كُتُبٖ يَدۡرُسُونَهَاۖ وَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡهِمۡ قَبۡلَكَ مِن نَّذِيرٖ

44. And We had not given them any Scriptures which they could study, nor did We send to them before you any warner.

45 : 34

وَكَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ وَمَا بَلَغُواْ مِعۡشَارَ مَآ ءَاتَيۡنَٰهُمۡ فَكَذَّبُواْ رُسُلِيۖ فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ نَكِيرِ

45. And those before them denied (the Truth), and these have not yet attained a tenth of what We gave them (of power and wealth), yet they denied My messengers. So how (terrible) was My Reproach.

46 : 34

۞ قُلۡ إِنَّمَآ أَعِظُكُم بِوَٰحِدَةٍۖ أَن تَقُومُواْ لِلَّهِ مَثۡنَىٰ وَفُرَٰدَىٰ ثُمَّ تَتَفَكَّرُواْۚ مَا بِصَاحِبِكُم مِّن جِنَّةٍۚ إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا نَذِيرٞ لَّكُم بَيۡنَ يَدَيۡ عَذَابٖ شَدِيدٖ

46. Say: "I only admonish you to do one thing, that you stand up purely for Allah’s Sake in pairs and individually, then reflect (on this Message). Your companion (Muhammad) is not possessed one. He is only a warner to you in face of a severe torment.

47 : 34

قُلۡ مَا سَأَلۡتُكُم مِّنۡ أَجۡرٖ فَهُوَ لَكُمۡۖ إِنۡ أَجۡرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱللَّهِۖ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ شَهِيدٞ

47. Say: "Whatever payment I asked of you,  that is all for you. My reward is only with Allāh. He is a Witness over all things."

48 : 34

قُلۡ إِنَّ رَبِّي يَقۡذِفُ بِٱلۡحَقِّ عَلَّٰمُ ٱلۡغُيُوبِ

48. Say, "Indeed, my Lord hurls the Truth (against all that is false). (And He is) the All-Knower of the unseen."

49 : 34

قُلۡ جَآءَ ٱلۡحَقُّ وَمَا يُبۡدِئُ ٱلۡبَٰطِلُ وَمَا يُعِيدُ

49. Say, "The truth has come, and the falsehood ^[15] can neither begin (anything) nor repeat (it)."

[15]. Satan, or what you worship besides Allāh.

50 : 34

قُلۡ إِن ضَلَلۡتُ فَإِنَّمَآ أَضِلُّ عَلَىٰ نَفۡسِيۖ وَإِنِ ٱهۡتَدَيۡتُ فَبِمَا يُوحِيٓ إِلَيَّ رَبِّيٓۚ إِنَّهُۥ سَمِيعٞ قَرِيبٞ

50. Say, "If I go astray, I only go astray against myself, and if I remain 'rightly' guided, it is because of what my Lord 'Allāh' reveals to me. Indeed, He (is) All-Hearing, Ever-Near."

51 : 34

وَلَوۡ تَرَىٰٓ إِذۡ فَزِعُواْ فَلَا فَوۡتَ وَأُخِذُواْ مِن مَّكَانٖ قَرِيبٖ

51. If you could see (them) when they (the pagans) are terrified, but (there is) no escape and they will be seized from a place nearby ^[16].

[16]. i.e., from the place of Judgment to the Hellfire.

52 : 34

وَقَالُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُمُ ٱلتَّنَاوُشُ مِن مَّكَانِۭ بَعِيدٖ

52. They will say: "We (now) believe in it." But how for them will be the attaining (of Faith) from a place far away ^[17]?

[17]. For it is already too late to return to the worldly life.

53 : 34

وَقَدۡ كَفَرُواْ بِهِۦ مِن قَبۡلُۖ وَيَقۡذِفُونَ بِٱلۡغَيۡبِ مِن مَّكَانِۭ بَعِيدٖ

53. While they disbelieved in it ^[18] before, and they hurl (their guesses) at the Unseen from a place far (away) ^[19].

[18]. The Qur'an.
[19]. I.e., a position far from truth.

54 : 34

وَحِيلَ بَيۡنَهُمۡ وَبَيۡنَ مَا يَشۡتَهُونَ كَمَا فُعِلَ بِأَشۡيَاعِهِم مِّن قَبۡلُۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ فِي شَكّٖ مُّرِيبِۭ

54. And a barrier will be placed between them and what they desire ^[20], as was done before with the likes of them. Indeed, they were in doubt disquieting ^[21].

[20]. I.e., the attainment of faith and admission into Paradise.
[21]. The Oneness of God and the life of Hereafter.
If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome Words, the Words of Allāh, and to the teachings of His messenger, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, he is proud, knowing nothing, and is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, and evil suspicions.
