8
۞ وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّمَا غَنِمۡتُم مِّن شَيۡءٖ فَأَنَّ لِلَّهِ خُمُسَهُۥ وَلِلرَّسُولِ وَلِذِي ٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰ وَٱلۡيَتَٰمَىٰ وَٱلۡمَسَٰكِينِ وَٱبۡنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ إِن كُنتُمۡ ءَامَنتُم بِٱللَّهِ وَمَآ أَنزَلۡنَا عَلَىٰ عَبۡدِنَا يَوۡمَ ٱلۡفُرۡقَانِ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡتَقَى ٱلۡجَمۡعَانِۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٌ
41. Know that whatever spoils of war you may gain, one‑fifth is for Allāh, for the Messenger [14], for his relatives [15], for orphans, the needy, and the wayfarer — if you believe in Allāh and in what We revealed to Our servant [Muhammad] on the Day of Distinction, the day when the two armies met [at Badr]. And Allāh has full power over all things.
[14]. To be spent in the cause of Allāh.
[15]. The tribes of Banu Hāshim and Banu Abdul Muṭṭalib, who are not eligible for Zakah.

:
8
إِذۡ أَنتُم بِٱلۡعُدۡوَةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَهُم بِٱلۡعُدۡوَةِ ٱلۡقُصۡوَىٰ وَٱلرَّكۡبُ أَسۡفَلَ مِنكُمۡۚ وَلَوۡ تَوَاعَدتُّمۡ لَٱخۡتَلَفۡتُمۡ فِي ٱلۡمِيعَٰدِ وَلَٰكِن لِّيَقۡضِيَ ٱللَّهُ أَمۡرٗا كَانَ مَفۡعُولٗا لِّيَهۡلِكَ مَنۡ هَلَكَ عَنۢ بَيِّنَةٖ وَيَحۡيَىٰ مَنۡ حَيَّ عَنۢ بَيِّنَةٖۗ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَسَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
42. [Remember] when you were on the nearer side of the valley [of Badr] and they were on the farther side, while the caravan was below you. If you had mutually made an appointment, you would surely have differed in the appointment. But it was so that Allāh might accomplish a matter that was to be done: that he who was to perish might perish on clear proof, and he who was to live might live with clear proof. Indeed, Allāh is All-Hearing and All-Knowing.

إِذۡ يُرِيكَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ فِي مَنَامِكَ قَلِيلٗاۖ وَلَوۡ أَرَىٰكَهُمۡ كَثِيرٗا لَّفَشِلۡتُمۡ وَلَتَنَٰزَعۡتُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَمۡرِ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَلَّمَۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمُۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ
43. When Allāh showed them to you in your dream as few [in number]. If He had shown them to you as many, you [believers] would certainly have lost heart, and you would have disputed about the matter, but Allāh saved. Indeed, He is the All-Knower of what is in the chests.

:
8
وَإِذۡ يُرِيكُمُوهُمۡ إِذِ ٱلۡتَقَيۡتُمۡ فِيٓ أَعۡيُنِكُمۡ قَلِيلٗا وَيُقَلِّلُكُمۡ فِيٓ أَعۡيُنِهِمۡ لِيَقۡضِيَ ٱللَّهُ أَمۡرٗا كَانَ مَفۡعُولٗاۗ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُرۡجَعُ ٱلۡأُمُورُ
44. When He showed you [the pagans' army] as few in your eyes, when you met [in the battle-field], and He made you [appear] a few in their eyes, so that Allāh might accomplish a matter that was to be done. To Allāh are [all] matters returned [for decision].

8
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِذَا لَقِيتُمۡ فِئَةٗ فَٱثۡبُتُواْ وَٱذۡكُرُواْ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرٗا لَّعَلَّكُمۡ تُفۡلِحُونَ
45. O believers, when you meet [an enemy] force in battle, stand firm [with courage], and remember Allāh much, so that you may be successful.
