1. Say: "I seek protection by (Allāh)1 the Lord of the Daybreak,
1. He is Allāh, the Lord, and there is no other; apart from Him there is no God. He will strengthen us, so that from the rising of the sun to the place of its setting people may know there is none besides Him. He is Allāh, the Lord, and there is no other. He form the light and create darkness, He bring prosperity and create disaster; He Allāh, the Lord, do all these things. So seek protection by Him.
4. And from the evil of sorceresses3 who blow on knots,
3. The use of the feminine form can only be accounted for by supposing that, practically, witchcraft is mainly professed by females. Sorcery is as much rebellion against Allāh as idolatry and blasphemy. It is one of the most serious social diseases, because it leads to certain evils and malicious results, including murder, usurping money of the people unlawfully, and separating between a man and his wife. Moreover, some activities of sorcery can only be achieved by means of polytheism and drawing close to the demons. The divine, effective cure for such a disease is its all-at-once extermination by killing the sorcerers by the law so that the community would maintain its virtues, purity, and uprightness. You shall not allow sorceress to live. Kill every sorcerer and sorceress.
5. And from the evil of the envier when he envies4.
4. The four pillars of happiness are as follows:
- Believing in Allāh, His Monotheism -worshipping and invoking Him alone - and following the tradition of His last and final messenger, the Prophet Muhammad (may peace and and blessings be upon him).
- Engaging in useful and fruitful work.
- Doing good to the people.
- Purifying the heart of hatred, envy, and malice. Where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. Muhammad, God's messenger said: "Do not envy one another, nor expose one another, nor be angry with one another, nor be disparate from one another, a person should not enter into a transaction when his brother is already making a transaction "and he should not make a proposal of marriage when his brother has already made a proposal except when he gives permission". Be slaves of God, in brotherhood. A believer is a believer's brother. He does not wrong him, abandon him, or mock him.
Piety is here,” and he pointed to his chest three times, “It is enough evil for a man to mock his brother. The blood, property, and honor of a believer is inviolable by all others.”
