1. The Qur’an is made up of such letters from the Arabic alphabet. The Arabs at the time of revelation were the unmatched masters of the Arabic language and yet when challenged were totally unable to bring anything like the Qur’an. Although these disjointed Arabic letters are referring to the inimitable nature of the Qur’an and its divine source, God knows best its meaning.
3. Or do they say that he (Muhammad) has invented it (the Qur’an)? Rather, it is the Truth from 'Allāh' your Lord, that you may warn a people to whom no warner has come before you, that they may be guided.
4. It is Allāh Who created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in six days, then rose over the Throne. You have no besides Him any protector or intercessor. Will you not then take heed?
5. He rules and regulates (every) affair (of His creation) from the heaven to the earth (with Perfection and Wisdom); then every affair ascends to Him on a Day whose length is a thousand years by your counting.
7. Who perfected everything that He has created², and He began the creation of man from clay.
2. The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him, has taught us that we should perfect every single action we do. He said: “Allāh loves that if one does a job he perfects it.” The word ‘aml, translated in this hadith as job, can literally be any action that we perform. Thereby, one can turn any ordinary work into an act of worship that Allāh loves as long as you put all your effort into perfecting it and as long as one does it for the sake of Allāh.
9. Then He formed him properly, and (ordered the angels to) breathe into him his soul (created) by Him. And He made for you hearing, sight, and intellect. Little is it that you give thanks (to Him).
10. And they say: "When we have become disintegrated within the earth, shall we then be created anew?" Rather, they are deniers of the Meeting of their Lord 'Allāh'.
12. If you could only see when the wicked will hang down their heads before their Lord 'saying': "Our Lord 'Allāh', we have now seen and heard, so send us back (to the world), we will do righteous deeds. (For) we are now certain.
13. Had We willed, We would have given guidance to every soul, but the Word from Me took effect (about evil doers): "That I will fill Hell with jinn and mankind all together."
14. So taste (the torment of the Fire), because of your forgetting the Meeting of this Day of your Judgement; We too will forget you³. Taste the abiding torment for what you used to do (of evil deeds).
15. Only those believe in Our verses, who, when they are reminded of them, fall down prostrate and glorify their Lord 'Allāh' with praise, and they are not arrogant.
16. Their sides vacate (their) beds (at night for prayer), they invoke their Lord 'Allāh' in (love), fear and hope, and they spend (in charity) out of what We have given them.
19. As for those who believe and do righteous deeds, the Gardens of shelter and shade are their welcoming place as an accommodation for what they used to do.
20. But as for those who rebel (against God), their home of the Hereafter is the eternal Fire. Whenever they want to get out of it, they will be returned to it, and they will be told: "Taste the torment of the Fire which you used to deny."
21. We shall certainly make them taste of the nearer torment (in the world) before the greater Torment (in the Hereafter) so that they may (repent and) return (to Allāh).
22. Who is more unjust than he who is reminded of the Verses of his Lord 'Allāh' then turns away from them? We will certainly exact retribution upon the wicked.
26. Is it not yet clear to them, how many of the (sinful) generations We have destroyed before them, in whose dwellings they now walk about? There are certainly signs in this. Will they not then listen?
27. Do they not see that We drive the water to a barren land and bring forth thereby crops of which their cattle and they themselves eat. Do they not then see?
